Bachelorette Recap (Episodes 7 & 8)
I missed last week due to celebrating Thanksgiving accordingly & wanting to be fully present in each moment, so I'm recapping last week's episode along with this week's episode in this post! Get ready because according to the previews, these episodes are full of DRAMA!
Episode 7...
singing competition...
This singing competition as a way to choose a winner to spend more time with was kind of a cute idea! Out of all of them I LOVED Demar's song! He was honestly just so cute & it was evident that he tried really hard on his song. For some reason he seems like a bit of an underdog like he just never really gets the attention that he deserves, especially since he seems to have such a sweet & lighthearted soul! I also liked Ivan's song & I like him in general so I'm glad that Tayshia chose him to spend the rest of her evening with.
Ivan's 1:1 evening...
Ivan is super cute & I absolutely love his laid back personality. He honestly just has such a calm vibe about him. He makes me want to take a deep breath, but in a really good + calm way. (Do I need an Ivan in my life or what?!!) I giggled out loud when they realized that Ivan'a dad is old enough to be Tayshia's dad! #weird. Aside from his dad's age, Ivan actually got incredibly vulnerable sharing about what it's been like to be a big brother to someone & how hard it can be when you want more for them than they want for themselves. My big sister heart can empathize where he's coming from! I absolutely love that they both got emotional while they were talking about George Floyd & the challenges that the two of them face -- challenges that I will never be able to relate to. They clearly feel very emotionally comfortable with one another which is a wonderful quality to have in a partner.
Wow I don't know who to root for anymore because I love Brendan but I'm so starting to love Ivan! I love them both! Oh dear, how is Tayshia going to choose?!!
truth or dare small group date...
Okay this is totally my kind of date! I love a good game of truth or date & of course it's even more fun when you get to hang out with some of your girlfriends. I literally loled at Riley gagging at the disgusting smoothie & I loved that Demar had Chris Harrison autograph his left butt cheek! All of that is just good natured fun. The proposal part after eating a habanero pepper was interesting. The guys really brought it! Like some of them honestly sounded like an end of the road proposal! Here are a few final thoughts as the group date wraps up...
I love Tayshia & support her fully, but dang, something about Zac C. is just yucky to me & I can't get on board with them kissing.
Ben is a man & I appreciated his honesty.
E stands for Ed & eye rolls.
cocktail party & rose ceremony...
Round of applause for Noah starting drama up again (that was sarcasm in case you didn't catch on). I had a feeling about him from the beginning that he would be this type of guy. Ugh. I'm over it already. I just have to say, I don't really like how Bennet always talks about how he's so high above all of the other guys. I mean I get that he's annoyed at Noah, but like just because you went to Harvard doesn't mean you're a better man. (Can you tell I don't like Bennet?)
My jaw pretty much hit the floor when she kept Ed. That's gotta be a production thing. I'd keep funny Kenny over Ed any day! It's interesting that she let Chasen go. I'm guessing he wasn't expecting to be let go so early but then he kind of blew it. I just feel like he probably didn't expect his Bachelorette experience to go this way, but I really didn't love him so I'm okay that he's gone.
Episode 8...
Zac C.'s 1:1...
I know I've shared this before but I just can't get on board with Zac C. & I'm not really sure why! Zac looks pretty uncomfortable in this photo shoot & I gotta say, I don't really blame him! I do appreciate his honesty with sharing about his previous marriage & that part of the reason that it ended was due to his behavior. Zac spoke about being diagnosed with a brain tumor & then kind of going off the rails. He got involved with some not so great people & drugs & alcohol & was even arrested for a DUI at one point. All of this is what caused his wife to leave him. I appreciated his honesty completely, but I still can't shake the feeling in my gut that tells me I don't like him.
group date...
Oh my goodness I was starting to feel so bad for the guys when they walked into the art studio with naked models & assumed that they were going to have to be the naked models!! Based on this season's history, it's not too far fetched. There has bee a lot of nudity this season. This group date would make me incredibly uncomfortable, just being real. The guys are being champs about it though! Bennett is way too much for me. I can't handle it! I'm not creative at all so I'd struggle with that aspect of this group date for sure. As well as being vulnerable in front of a group of people -- it's just not super natural. However, all of the guys killed it! Specifically Ivan & Brendan. & then so did Blake talking about how he grew up in a "failed household" & that he believes he deserves to have the family that he never got before. Riley talking about the importance of quality time was getting all the claps from me! Poor sweet Ben. You can tell that he's been thinking so long & hard about it & just wants it to be right. & then he came & stood naked in front of her. Oof honey. If I were the bachelorette, you'd be sent right home!
evening portion...
Ben talking about having an eating disorder was actually pretty cool because I don't feel like it's very common for guys to admit to that. & Ben seems like such a manly man so that made it all the more sweet.
I'm really happy for him that he got the group date rose! He definitely seems like an over thinker so this rose was probably very validating for him.
Eazy's 1:1...
Okay if you know me at all then you know that scaring people is one of my all time favorite things to do EVER! Ghosts & spirit talk freaks me out a tad, but I'm all down for little scaring pranks! & Eazy seems like the absolute perfect person to take on this type of date because he comes off as a big tough football guy, but he's also super stinking goofy & just downright funny! This was honestly one of my favorite 1:1s I've ever watched!
I was disappointed, but not super surprised that she sent Eazy home. Wow I just wanted to hug him. Ugh breakups suck. Especially when you're the one that feels more than the other person does. He seemed pretty blindsided & disappointed too which was pretty sad to watch.
cocktail party...
Bennet vs. Noah...
Bennet bringing Noah a little present was honestly one of the weirdest things I've seen on this show in awhile. I'm not sure if he was trying to make things funny or what because he still seemed super aggravated. Tayshia just needs to send both of them home. I'm over both of them.
Of course they leave us hanging & give us insane previews of what's to come in the next few weeks!
