Office Tour
Welcome to my sweet little sanctuary! I had a vision for my office & thanks to garage sales, facebook marketplace, the carpentry skills of my Dad & brother + a whole lot of creativity, it all came together! Five years later & I’m still loving it. My true prayer is that all who enter feel welcome, loved, accepted & valued exactly as they are.
I rearranged my office space this year & I’m LOVING the new layout! I feel like I can see more of the hallway from my desk now which is never a bad thing. #iworkinamiddleschool
It always smells good & there’s always a cute furry friend for you to love on.
Here is the view from the doorway.
This is my “meet Miss Rice” board! Students & coworkers can look through this board to see all kinds of things + people that I love & are important to me! This is one of my favorite ways for the people in my building to get to know me a little bit better + it always sparks a conversation!
Student work space area.
This mint green desk came with my office & at first I was like wowza that is funky. But as I started bringing things in & decorating, I feel like it went perfectly with my things & adds such a fun pop of color.
This bookshelf came with my office & I'm really thankful for it. One of my favorite things to do with bookshelves is to use them as a place for decorations & not just books. I also use it for storage for extra sensory toys, games, etc.
One of the most heartwarming parts of my office is this little area right here. Oh if these chairs could talk. Endless conversations + growth have taken place here. I found these leather chairs on facebook martketplace for such a steal of a price! They are perfect & so easy to wipe down. My Dad & brother build these DIY wooden floating shelves & I couldn't love them more! They make the space so homey & welcoming.
& last but not least is my favorite part of my entire office... my little coffee bar corner! My Dad & brother built the entire thing & they even built the little shelf on the wall! I absolutely love how this turned out. This area has had a lot of use over the last five years! ;)
These are the tapestries that I hung right outside of my office in the hallway. I love them both!
& this is the tapestry I have in my guidance classroom. It has actually been so helpful to have it there as a visual for my students when we are discussing different emotions.
