Feel Good Friday
Happy happy Friday, sweet people!!!
what I've been up to...
One of the things I love about living in a small town is that we get to be involved in everything! Yes, the days are long when you work all day & then spend the evening working the table at volleyball. But there’s nothing I love more than building relationships with all of the students in my community!
I got up early last week on Friday & used my walk to #finishelizasrun & honor her tragic passing. Ladies, this should stir something deep in your bellies. We honor her. We walk / run for her. We are her.
My cat & I got to play a very challenging & competitive game of cup stacking at two in the morning one night this week!
I had to get up pretty early on Saturday morning to go to my sister’s volleyball tournament & Sophie blocked the doorway coming out of my room. I think she wanted to spend the day in bed!
My sister’s team ended up getting third in the tournament!
Sophie is my spirit animal. Neither of us are morning people. Sophie despises the lights in the morning so she always retreats under my bed.
My hair + my house are both ready for fall now! I love these knitted pumpkins I got last fall from Walker Handcrafted!
outfits of the week…
For the past few months or so I’ve started *trying* to consistently share my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet.
Friday…
Morning walk OOTD to #finishelizasrun.
& then my school OOTD for our little girls cheer night!
Saturday…
OOTD for my sister’s volleyball tournament!
Sunday…
Early on Sunday morning, both of my parents + my sister all tested positive for Covid. I spent Sunday in bed just resting & trying to prep my body for whatever was coming. But apparently I’m a lucky one because still to this day, almost a week later, I’m still testing negative.
Monday...
I tested negative on Monday morning & had no symptoms, but I chose to wear a mask at school for the sake of those around me.
Tuesday...
Comfy Tuesday OOTD!
Wednesday...
& another comfy outfit for walking club day! Wednesdays are our club days during our seminar time. Every staff member in the building is in charge of a club & it’s whatever we want to do! Myself & the principal do a walking club together. If there’s ever a situation that comes up, either her or I can handle it & the other can still attend walking club. These days to get outside & just hang out with the kids are my favorite! We’ve walked to the park, through nature trails & just around town. It’s a blast & any excuse to wear my hokas to school, I’ll take it! & of course I had to wear my cute + colorful $6 Walmart claw clip!
Thursday...
Middle school game day OOTD!
in case you missed it...
As you may have seen, I started a new weekly post where I share my Weekly Sale Finds! I’ve been sharing them daily on my Instagram stories & I figured I could compile all of them from the week into one post so that y’all can see them, too! You can click here to read that post.
friday favs...
I did some stories the other night on Instagram while I was getting ready for bed & since then I’ve gotten a bunch of questions on my skin care, so I thought I’d share it all here too!
This is the shampoo & conditioner I’ve been using for awhile & I’m loving it! Great price & makes my hair feel great, too.
I’ve also been getting some questions on how I organize my jewelry. I’ve had this piece five plus years & it’s held up so well! I love that it turns my jewelry into wall decor.
A follower noticed this wall hanging while I was talking on stories on my couch one night & I just love it! It’s neutral so it goes with everything, but it’s big & covers a good chunk of my wall without being too much.
Mini Walmart haul comin’ up!
I feel like band tees have been all the rage pretty much this whole summer & I’m just now getting on the bandwagon to try them out. But I have to say, these two that come in a set from Walmart are pretty darn cute!! I got a medium because I wanted them to for sure cover my bottom on biker shorts & they’re perfect! The bright colors are too cute!
This crewneck is a 0X, but I thought it was worth trying it out as an oversized crew with biker shorts. The neckline is super cute & I love the raw hem at the bottom. It comes in other colors, but I just love this pretty deep red!
I threw it on with jeans to see if it would pass the test, & it totally does!
Super cute striped t-shirt dress! I snagged a medium for a looser fit & would say it fits true to size. It comes in quite a few other colors, but you know I can’t resist black & white stripes! Here is how I styled it for the rest of the hot summer weather we’ve got going on…
& then here’s how I’ll style it when the weather gets colder!! So cute & cozy!
If this head-to-toe Walmart outfit doesn’t scream cutie boho counselor, I don’t know what does!!! I’m OBSESSED! So darn comfortable while being super cute at the same time! The t-shirt says home grown at the bottom (I mean come on!!!) & I grabbed a size medium for a looser fit. I also grabbed the skirt in a medium so that the waist wouldn’t be tight & it’s pretty loose so I would say it fits a little bit big. Both pieces will obviously transition into fall very well!
Here is a close up pic of the top!
& like I said earlier, y’all know I can’t resist a good black & white striped top!!! How stinkin’ cute is this sweater?! So super soft & great material. The neckline isn’t too low which I love! I’m wearing a medium & would say it fits true to size.
