Feel Good Friday
TGIF!
what I've been up to...
I was talking with my cousin a couple weekends ago about adulthood — he just graduated in May from OSU so he’s just starting out. We were talking about the perks (salaries & benefits) & the hard things (loneliness & less free time). I was telling him that now that I’ve been out of college for three years (oof!!!), I kind of feel like I’m out of the honeymoon phase of adulthood & it’s setting in that this is the rest of my life lol it honestly kind of depressed both of us in the moment, but we laughed it off.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about that convo. While I love my job & know without a doubt that it’s my calling, life can still feel really hard sometimes! So in order to prevent myself from slipping into the mundane, I’ve decided to start being really intentional about doing small things that bring me big joy. So on Saturday morning, I got up extra early to do my incline treadmill walk & then went to get coffee at my local coffee shop before going to my sister’s last first high school volleyball tourney. & y’all, can I tell you something? It filled my heart more than I knew I was needing! So, here’s to being intentional about doing small things that bring me big joy!
My baby sister’s last first high school volleyball tournament!
& of course, gotta work some games too for my town!
My cat cracks me up lol this is what I walk into most mornings when I go to get on my treadmill!
outfits of the week…
For the past few months or so I’ve started *trying* to consistently share my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet.
Friday…
OOTD for a comfy Friday!
Saturday…
Such a great Saturday morning sweat sesh!
& then it was off to my sister’s volleyball tournament!
Sunday…
Even though sharing clothing finds (& all kinds of other stuff) is my little side gig, I still struggle sometimes coming up with things to wear! A lot of times I’ll look on Pinterest or at some of my fav people to follow here on the gram & take ideas from them by using what I have in my own closet! Today’s church OOTD was inspired by this oversized denim jacket that I saw on Pinterest! I did mom jeans instead of skinnies since I wanted to be comfy. I added in some pops of cognac with my sandals, belt & fanny pack, & of course, any excuse to wear this super cute new denim shacket from Target & I’m in!!!
Monday...
Back on my morning walk grind!
Okay I was obsessed with my Monday outfit!
Tuesday...
Another morning, more treadmill walks!
& an outfit for my sister’s game day — gotta wear school colors!
Wednesday...
I’m so emotionally exhausted from school & life things from this week that I “slept in” this morning & dressed comfy. & it was a good thing because I was running around all day!
in case you missed it...
Happy Wednesday to you! Today I’m sharing a blog post that I haven’t done in soooo long — what’s up Wednesday! It’s a hodge podge post covering things from what I’ve been up to lately (school), to what I’ve been reminiscing about (summer) lol just kidding ;) but for real! Go check out my new post to see all the things.
friday favs...
My adult back-to-school tradition is buying myself a new lunch bag! I love this years! It’s so darn cute + fits so much!
I’ve been getting some questions about my treadmill lately so I figured I’d share. I bought it on the Amazon prime day deals. I wanted a small-ish one but wanted to make sure incline was an option. I absolutely LOVE mine! Worth every penny!!!
Did my at-home shellac nails on Sunday night!
These Hoka shoes have absolutely changed the game for me! I truly don’t think I’ll ever buy another kind of shoe!
Since coming back to school, I’ve been on this weird kick about buying dresses for work & I’m just loving it! I really like this long sleeve floral one from Old Navy. The colors & style will transition so well into fall! I’m wearing a small & would say it fits oversized.
Y’all know that my goal for work outfits is to be as comfy (& cute) as possible! As a counselor, I spent a lot of my day going into classrooms or running around to various places to help with crises or help to de-escalate a student. Sometimes this means sitting on the floor in the hallway with them, or trucking after them if they’re storming off. So comfort is key! This Walmart romper checks all of my boxes!! I’m wearing a medium & would say it fits true to size. & you know I’m going to pair it with my fav Target denim jacket because I’m stinkin’ OBSESSED with it!!!
Is it just me, or is anyone else stoked for sweater season?! This darling one is from Walmart & it’s actually a plus size (0X)! I just loved the color of pink & the unique stitched polkadots. It’s incredibly soft & I would say it actually fits more like a medium or large.
& you know I can’t turn down a good matching sweatsuit!! This one is actually mens!! It comes in A TON of other colors & both pieces fit true to size (& are sold separately). I just love this olive green for fall!
I also have an unhealthy with fannypacks & this white camo one just got added to my collection! It has great space on the inside & is super comfortable. It also comes in a bunch of other colors included plain or muted options as well!
Since I’ve been walking so much lately, I’m slowly adding pieces to that part of my wardrobe, like this super cute tunic longsleeve tee! I’m OBSESSED with the color & love the side slit. It’s so incredibly soft & very much oversized — perfect for biker shorts!
My cheerleaders are hosting a camp on Saturday for the little girls in our town & then there’s a parade in the evening. Sunday should be relaxing, so I always look forward to that! What are your plans for the weekend? Drop them below in the comments, or feel free to message us on Facebook or Instagram! We’d love to hear what you’re all up to. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
