Feel Good Friday

Happy Friday, sweet people!

what I've been up to...

We stopped at Baskin Robbins after church on Sunday for a sweet treat. Both Avery & I hadn’t ever been there before — isn’t that crazy!? It was delicious! Avery got chocolate fudge + mint chocolate chip. I got chocolate fudge + chocolate peanut butter. We highly recommend both!!

outfits of the week…

For the past few months or so I’ve started *trying* to consistently share my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet.

Saturday…

Comfy clothes, yes please! It felt so good to relax & get some work done at home after a busy week. My shorts are from Walmart & my crewneck is from Target — both are super cozy pieces, perfect for lounging around at home.

Sunday…

I didn’t really feel like fixing my hair on Sunday, so I went for a low bun & a casual outfit. My tiered babydoll top is from Amazon & I’ve had it for years! Its so comfy & great quality. I spilled a bit of water on it when I carried everything in from my car after church. I’m a firm believer in one trip lol!

Monday...

I’m trying to make myself go through my closet & really wear the things I didn’t wear much last year. I get TONS of wear out of my Old Navy pixie pants, but I didn’t wear this tee (also from Old Navy) very much. I’ve had this tee for two years, so it’s no longer in stock, but I love that it has accents of both white & black because you can wear it with so many different things!

Tuesday...

I think we should make teacher (or counselor ;) ) t-shirt Tuesday a thing!! I love my Old Navy linen pants, especially when it’s still hot outside like right now. They are super casual & look cute with any tee & a cardigan. My tee is from Amazon & it’s soo comfy — wearing a medium!

Wednesday...

Wednesday was school picture day & even though I’m an adult, I still take it seriously lol my mom & grandma love getting my pictures so I always send them one. I shared about this babydoll flower tee on Amazon the other day & was reminded about how much I love it so I decided to wear it!

Thursday...

Thursday was day three hair so I threw it in a bun & added a cute scrunchie to tie everything together. I own this top in three colors because I love it so much! It’s over a year old so it’s not in stock anymore, so I’ll link a similar one that I own. & of course, my go-to Old Navy pixie pants!

In case you missed it, this week I shared my monthly What’s up Wednesday post! It’s a hodge podge post covering things like what I’ve been reminiscing about lately, to what I’ve been loving or wearing, & everything in between. It’s extra long because I didn’t get to do one of these posts last month since I was on vacation. I’ll link to that post here in case you’re interested in catching up!

friday favs...

When it comes to choosing between sweet or salty options, most of the time I go for sweet. Anybody else with me? I recently got to try some delicious new sweet treats from SkinnyDipped — a business founded by women that make yummy snacks with real ingredients (only 4 g of sugar!!!), so they’re healthier for you than some of your other go-to options! I tried the milk chocolate peanut butter cups with my sister & we actually both like them better than Reese’s cups!!

You can now use my code (SMALLTOWN10) to get 20% off of these yummy snacks by going directly to their website here or even on Amazon!

My dad made me this adorable rack to hang some of my bags! I picked out the knobs & he stained the wood & put it all together. I love it & how it turns my bags into almost a piece of decor in my mudroom!

I recently had to upgrade my laptop (ouch, I know)! Getting a new laptop means getting a new case since it’s a different size than my old one. I’ve always been really picky about the things that I buy, especially when I kind of have a vision for what I’m looking for. I already had this aztec-style slip so I knew I wanted something that would be neutral & would match the style. I found this plant case & fell in love!!! I don’t think I even really need to explain why — it’s so cute that it speaks for itself!

When it comes to makeup, I want products that are good quality, but aren’t going to cost me an arm & a leg. I was getting close to running out of blush & I had this one screenshotted from seeing so many other bloggers share about it. My skin has olive undertones & I’m naturally fairly tan so I like blushes that tend to lean more towards peach than actual pink. I really like this one & how long it stays on! It’s not super pigmented which I like because that makes it buildable. I dab my brush into each square / color & it’s such a great color for me, plus the price is great!

Since I’m just getting back into the swing of things with school starting up again, I’ve been sooo crazy busy! As a single girl, one of my least favorite things to do is cook & meal plan. I must not have inherited the “wife material cooking” gene! I truly believe that the meals I don’t have to prepare, honestly taste better lol I always tell my mom that after I eat at her house! I’ve used Eat to Evolve for over a year & am so stinkin’ excited that I now working with them!!! I almost always have one of the on-the-go meals for my lunches at school. Just throw them in your bag with some yogurt or fruit & you’re set! Some of my favorite dinners include the bbq brisket burger with sweet potato salad, the buffalo chicken mac & cheese, & the pork carnitas with chayote. So much flavor, great portion sizes (I can usually get two meals out of each if I add a salad & some fruit on the side), & they all freeze really well!

You can use my code (ALLIRICE20) or go straight to their website (where my discount is automatically applied) by clicking here to get 20% off your first order!!!

The cutest & comfiest Walmart olive green sneakers for less than $30!! They do come in a few other color options as well, but I love these green ones. My sister loved them so much that she got a pair for herself! The smallest size they have is a six — my sister is typically a size seven, but a six fit her perfectly so they run a little bit big.

Super comfy Amazon loungeset! It’s super lightweight so it’s perfect for right now since we’re transitioning to fall. At least, I’m trying to even if the weather doesn’t agree with me lol. The two pieces come together, I’m wearing a medium (which is my normal size in loungewear). The pants have a functional drawstring & fit true to size. The top has a wide neck which would be a cute way to show off a cute sports bra or bralette. I love this light heather grey color & my mom got it in light blue! I feel like you could totally wear this top as a normal shirt, especially under a vest & it would be super cute. I love finding pieces that I can wear in multiple settings!

This darling colorblock sweater is from Amazon! I’ve shared this sweater before in some other colors, but this colorblock style is new so I wanted to try it out. The details in this sweater are sooo good — from the super subtle side slit to the open seam stitching on the sleeves! Great quality & super thick material. I don’t own anything from Free People, but I’ve heard that this is super similar to some of their sweaters, for a fraction of the price. I’m all about that! The best news is that it’s currently 30% off PLUS an extra $2 off coupon!!

Please excuse the wrinkles, I was so excited to try this one on! Y’all know I love me some leopard & I just love how cute & unique this Amazon top is — I haven’t seen anything like it! The fabric is actually pretty comfy & it feels like a really soft denim jacket. It gets a little bit longer in the back which I actually really like because you can wear it with normal leggings or some faux leather ones (that would be so cute!) & it’ll cover your booty! I paired it with my cognac mules (also from Amazon) because there’s some cognac-colored stitching on the pockets & love how the brown tones accent each other. This one is so stinking fun!!

I’ve seen some different people sharing corduroy button-ups & figured I ought to try out the trend. You can wear them like they’re cardigans, or button them up so it’s its own shirt! I got a small & would say it fits oversized, but I think it’s supposed to. Loving the side scoop & the tortoise shell buttons. I love how comfy & casual this is!
