Feel Good Friday

Happy Friday, sweet friends!!

what I've been up to...

Last weekend was Easter weekend & I had two extra days off from school which made it the perfect long weekend! On Saturday, we got together with my Mom’s side of the family at a local winery & enjoyed a beautiful sunny afternoon with all different kinds of wine — even slushies!

My sister & I wandered around a bit & found the most beautiful field of honeysuckles! I know that they’re maybe not every landscaper or farmer’s best friend, but they sure are beautiful!

We spent the evening playing games & enjoying each other’s company. Sunday morning we went to church which was so nice! It’s wild to remember how things were a year ago. For those of you who are new around here, my sister, Bethany (above), has severe asthma so she falls under the high risk category for Covid. We took the stay-at-home order very seriously last spring as there was so much unknown. We are so thankful for the positive changes that are taking place!

I’ve got a lot of love in my heart for freshly picked dandelions from sixth graders! :)

On Tuesday my sister had a track meet & I was able to meet up with my family & go watch her! I kind of forgot how emotional track can be since last season was cancelled due to Covid. I’m so thankful that I live close enough this year to be able to go watch her & that things are starting to be safer so that all of the kids can participate.

outfits of the week…

For the past few months or so I’ve started *trying* to consistently share my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet. I didn’t have school on Monday so I’ll just be sharing Tuesday through Thursday’s outfits for this week!

Tuesday...

I’ll take any chance I can get to dress comfy for work! That’s a great perk about working in a school — you can get away with dressing pretty dang casual & comfy. Both my top & my bottoms are from Old Navy & my cardigan & shoes are from Amazon. My exact t-shirt is still in stock, but my pants are only available in cream. Have no fear though, I found a super similar option & linked everything below! ;)

Wednesday...

The weather was pretty chilly & rainy on Wednesday, so I opted for some cozy clothes! I got this sweater in the fall from Target & it’s no longer being sold, but I linked a similar one below that I’ve tried from Amazon. The piece I’m most excited about with this outfit are my shoes! I just got them in from Target & I’m OBSESSED! They are so cute & dang comfy. My old black slip ons were getting super old & were starting to rip in some places. My Mom actually saw these ones first & told me about them. They’re a really stretchy & comfy soft mesh material. The thing that’s nice about them is that you can totally dress them up or down! They’ll look great on gamedays with a sweatshirt too!

Thursday...

My middle school kiddos had a track meet on Thursday afternoon so of course I wore a gameday sweatshirt to support them! Another perk of working in a school lol.

In case you missed it, on Tuesday this week I shared a little post on the top twelve things y’all loved in March! It’s so cool for me to see which things you all like! You can view that post by clicking here.

I also shared my monthly book review. If I’m being totally honest, I didn’t love any of them, but I wouldn’t not recommend them. Ya feel? You can view that post by clicking here.

Now, moving on to the best part of today’s post… drum roll please!

friday favs...

New nails in pretty spring colors!

Target came out with the CUTEST spring colors in their plastic dishes! I snagged the bowls in choral & pink since those are the dishes I use the most. They look so cute in my glass cabinets & the best part is they’re 50c each!!!

Cleaning my electronic devices is something that I always want to do, but just never had the products for. I finally decided to try something out & it is legit AMAZING! I was absolutely shocked! It’s this EVEO premium screen cleaner spray & it comes with a really soft nice cloth. Not a single streak or line was left on my tvs or laptop!

IMG_8611.JPG

I tried to take a before & after pic, but the pattern in my rug is a little distracting so it’s kind of hard to tell. Here is the before — see the paw print streaks on the right side from my cat?

IMG_8612.JPG

& here’s the after! No more kitty print streaks!!

A common outfit for me is a comfy t-shirt, jeans & birks. Throw on a cardigan in the fall or swap the jeans for denim shorts in the summer. I’m always on the lookout & trying different basic tops. This sea foam green one is from Abercrombie & Fitch (my absolute FAV place to get jeans)! I’m wearing an XS here — I typically wear S or M. The material of this top is so dang soft & cozy. It could easily be dressed up or dressed down, which is the best part! Highly recommend this tee!

Do you remember those beach fleece sweatshirts from Aerie that were super popular? Well here is a super similar version, also from Aerie. Keep in mind that it’s a beach fleece sweatshirt, so it’s not the softest material ever. I’m wearing a medium in this beautiful bright orange color. I’ll be honest, I must not have been paying great attention when I was ordering, because I ALWAYS size down with Aerie stuff, it’s just always super oversized on me! My Mom ordered it in a green color in a size XS & it fits me way better than the medium does! Sharing a picture of it below.

This is that same sweatshirt, but in the green color & in an XS!

I have three darling dresses to share & all three are so unique in their own way! First up is this darling floral patterned button-up dress from Target. I’m absolutely in love with everything — from the pattern to the color scheme to the fit! It has a very subtle v-neck & a nice smocked waistline that is super flattering. You can cinch it tighter with the drawstrings, but it made it a little bit bulky for me personally. It’s soft & light & flowy in all the right places. So stinkin’ smitten over this one! I’m wearing a small.

Okay work with me on this one. I saw this dress from Amazon on another blogger & it looked absolutely darling on her! But I feel like it looks a tiny bit like my great grandma’s nightgown on me lol I keep talking myself in & out of liking it. The sleeves are three quarter length & the lace detailing is just so pretty & feminine! I’m wearing a small here & feel like it fits just a little bit wide, but everywhere else is true to size.

Last up is another dress from Target! Loving the color pattern & print on this one as well. I’ve ordered a couple of other dresses that have a similar neckline to this one — it’s fairly wide & almost square. I was hesitant at first, but I actually think it’s pretty flattering! The flutter sleeves & smocked neckline are really cute & feminine. I’m wearing a small & would say it fits a bit oversized. You can also wear it with the sleeves off your shoulders, but I would need to have sized down if I’m going to keep it up.
