Feel Good Friday
Happy Friday! Today is a professional development day for my district. Then, my sister has a track meet this afternoon in a town that’s close to mine (woot woot! always thankful for a short drive) & I’ll be going to bed early because I’m leaving tomorrow at 4am to be a chaperone for the 8th grade trip to Oklahoma City! You know it has to be a really great class when you’re willing to give up a Saturday for them. ;)
what I've been up to...
Last Saturday I got together with my college roomies & it was just what the doctor ordered! We met up for a late brunch & then spent the afternoon in the sunshine at a local winery. It was so wonderful to catch up & I’m thankful for these friendships where we just seem to pick up where we left off. :)
We were cracking up because our two friends who are moms both bought a whole bottle of wine instead of just having a glass like the rest of us lol celebrating Mom’s day out for sure!
& this is what happens when you sit on the balcony in the sun for three & a half hours — oops!
outfits of the week…
For the past months or so I’ve started *trying* to consistently share my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet.
Monday...
I pretty much always dress as comfortably as possible on Mondays lol there’s just something about wearing comfy linen pants while feeling sleepy & getting back into the groove of things that just feels right! My midwest camper van t-shirt is from a shop in Manhattan called Acme, but it looks like you can order it online. I can’t get commission off if it, but I’ll still link it here because it’s darn cute!
Tuesday...
Overall, I function a lot better when I’m organized & have all of my ducks in a row. Or at least as many of them in a row as I can! My mom sparked a conversation the other night at dinner about what things we can do today that our tomorrow selves will be thankful for. Packing my lunch the night before always makes my mornings go a lot smoother, especially on days like today when I’ll be gone all afternoon & evening at a track meet. What about you? PS - my lunchbox is LESS than $14!!! It comes in four other cute color patterns including leopard
Wednesday...
Anyone else sometimes have a hard time figuring out how to dress in the spring time? Wednesday’s weather was kind of chilly & there was a chance of rain all day, but then when the sun came out & the wind stopped blowing & because of the humidity, it was warm. Ugh! Layers layers layers.
Thursday...
I totally forgot how much I love these sandals! I legit wore them almost every single day last spring lol so glad that the weather is warming up enough for me to wear them again!
In case you missed it, this week I shared my monthly hodge podge post from what I’ve been eating lately, to things I’m loving, to what I’m excited about vs. dreading. You can read that post by clicking here!
friday favs...
I’m always looking for new & affordable sunglasses, especially in the spring & summer months when I’m outside more! When they’re prices, I can get more pairs for my money which makes me happy! This pair is so fun with the gold bar across the eyebrow area. They come in a few other color options, but black & gold & browns are my go-to colors. These are $16!
Like sunglasses & jewelry, I love using my apple watch as an accessory. I saw these comfy ones & knew I needed to try them & of course I got the leopard one! They come in a whole bunch of other color patterns that are so fun for spring & are customizable by size which is really nice! They are $25!
Who doesn’t love a great basic t-shirt? This henley t-shirt is too cute! Super soft & almost like slouchy because it’s so comfy. I’m wearing a small & would say it fits oversized — you could size up one if you wanted to wear it with leggings & have it cover the booty! The buttons are functional which is nice because you get to decide how low you want it to go. It comes in other colors & is less than $20!
For some reason I’m really into embroidery, frill, & bright colors this spring & I have no idea why. This white embroidered top is everything I hoped it would be! The fabric is a little bit sheer, but not necessarily see through. I wore a black bra just to test it out & I feel like you can just barely see the darker color showing through, so just wear a nude or white one & you’ll be fine! I’m wearing a small here & it fits very much true to size. This one is also less than $20!!
Another bonus is being all dolled up with beautiful jewelry. ;) A sweet follower sent me the most darling earrings & I’m obsessed!!! They’re stud backs which I LOVE & the clay is so incredibly dainty & light. Go give my girl Kennedee some love! Linking to her Instagram here. DM her to purchase!
& this t-shirt is what I meant when I mentioned loving frill earlier! This top is from Amazon & is also less than $20! I’m wearing a small here & would say it fits true to size. The fabric feels kind of like a soft cotton t-shirt so my assumption is that it will shrink. It comes in some other color options as well. My favorite part about this top is the details on the sleeves! I’ll share some close up pictures of them below.
This top is my favorite out of all the ones I’ve shared today & might just be my favorite for the whole spring season!!! It’s from Target & I’m wearing a medium for a little bit of a looser fit (fits true to size). The details in this top are EVERYTHING! The back is completely plain which is cute & different. It’s not see through, but I would say it’s a little bit sheer so plan to wear a white or nude bra. I just love how feminine & cutesy this one is! You’ll find me in this all spring & summer long!
& last but certainly not least is this floral graphic t-shirt from Target. I always size up in their t-shirts, but I definitely didn’t need to with this one. It is incredibly soft & thin so it’s perfect for spring & summer. The seafoam green color is darling & has been one of my fav colors this spring! Great price & a great t-shirt! My denim shorts are from Walmart & I actually really love them! I pretty much always hate denim shorts because I’m incredibly picky in how they fit & look. I sized up to a 6 in these because at the end of the day, the size shouldn’t matter — how I feel in them is what matters!! I love the subtle fringe at the hemline & how stretchy & comfy they are! 10/10 would recommend. :)
Looks super cute cozied up with a cardigan, too!
