Feel Good Friday
Happy Friday, friends!
what I've been up to...
My mom hosted lunch on Sunday & she made this delicious lemon cake from Trader Joe’s that we all loved! She & my dad cleaned out their pantry when we all got back from vacation & this was one of their finds. Since it’s one of their seasonal items, she must’ve picked it up sometime & totally forgotten about it. We all loved it!!
This week was really busy for me as I started work again! As a school counselor, I’m contracted ten extra work days so I do some of them at the beginning of the school year, & some after. This week I had two days of enrollment & working on schedules & seeing a bunch of students made me super excited for the school year to start!
outfits of the week…
For the past few months or so I’ve started *trying* to consistently share my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet. Since I work in a middle school, I’m officially on summer break so my OOTDs will look a little different. Trading in my pixie pants for comfy shorts!
Sunday…
This soft denim button down t-shirt is actually from an old online boutique that a friend owned! If you guys remember me talking about my friend from high school that helped give this blog a good old fashioned makeover, the boutique used to be hers! This was one of my fav pieces I got from her because it’s super soft & I love the multi-tiered / babydoll look.
Monday...
Monday was packet pick up day so I wore a school t-shirt & some comfy jeans!
Tuesday...
Tuesday was an errand + work from home day so I opted for my comfies & my knock off airpod pros.
Wednesday...
Wednesday was packet drop off day so of course, another school t-shirt & that same pair of comfy jeans as Monday. Do you guys wear your jeans multiple times before washing them? I do & I’m not ashamed.
Thursday...
Thursday was a work day at my parent’s sno cone shack, but I went there early to go for a walk with my mom!
In case you missed it, on Tuesday I shared my recap of July’s top most-loved items from y’all! I’m never surprised by the list, they’re such great finds! You can view that post by clicking here.
I also shared one of my families favorite summer desserts — mini fruit pizzas! They’re super easy + delicious & are always a fan favorite at my house. You can view that post by clicking here.
friday favs...
My sister has severe asthma & has quite a few items, including an inhaler & different medications, that she has to have with her at all times. She has gone through quite a few different Kavu bags, but was wanting something a little nicer to take with her to college. She bought this darling leather backpack & every time I see it I have to convince myself I don’t need one for myself! It has a ton of great pockets & compartments & holds SO MUCH! It’s super comfortable & has functional adjustable straps.
If you’ve been around here for awhile, then you know that I love to always have my nails done. I’ve had my own shellac machine for 5+ years & I’ve built up my collection of colors, but I’m always down to try new things. I’ve seen tons of bloggers post about Red Aspen Nails — a up & coming company that sells glue-on nails, amongst other beauty products. My mom, sisters & I each bought a set for ourselves to try, & we all loved them so much that we ordered a bunch more sets — you can reuse them which is SO nice! Mine stay on for 10-15 days! I’ve been loving bright colors this spring & thought these were too cute! The color is Harper Picks Peonies Nail Dash Square. I typically keep my nails pretty short, but I’m not necessarily opposed to having them a bit longer like these. If you’re interested in getting some for yourself, you can go to my page here to order & I’ll get some commission off of it! Y’all know how much I appreciate all of your support!
This is the set I put on for the 4th of July! This color is Americana Nail Dash Square (unfortunately it looks like it’s out of stock).
Sharing some super comfy Target mom jeans today! This is pair number one. They have minimal distressing compared to the second pair (which is right after these)! They’re high rise & I’m wearing my normal size — they are a bit long on me, but I’m okay with it because I trim a lot of my jeans & like a raw hem. & my tee is from Amazon! I love the vibrant colors, the quote, the design, & how soft it is. This tee is so stinkin’ cute & as a small town Kansas girl, I just love it! Such a cute & casual outfit.
These are the more distressed pair! They’re incredibly stretchy & comfy & again, I’m wearing my regular size. I honestly probably could’ve sized down one size because they’re so stretchy & roomy. These are almost an identical fit to the pair from above!
Another Target find! The straps are the cutest little tie so you can really make it your own & fit you exactly how you like. I think the straps are just precious! It’s a really soft almost linen material. I’m wearing a small & it fits incredibly oversized — I could’ve sized down one or two sizes, honestly. It comes in other colors & prints, but they were sold out when I was ordering. I’m not mad about it because you can never go wrong with a black dress! & the best part is that it’s $20!
I’m totally in love with this dress & the print & the fit of it! The chest area is smocked & the neckline & sleeves have a really subtle frill which is so cute & feminine. You can wear the sleeves off the shoulder or on the shoulder, which I love because it makes it so versatile. There’s a subtle slit on the left side as well which is really cute! I’m wearing a small & it stops just below my ankle (I’m just under five feet tall).
This just might be my favorite dress that I’ve found from Amazon EVER! It’s the prettiest seafoam green color with white polkadots — it’s actually called “leopard”. The sleeves are just a little bit more sheer than the rest of the dress & they’re super flowy & pretty. It has a clasp near your bust & a slip throughout the body of the dress, so nothing’s going to accidentally fall out or show! The cinched waistline is so flattering as well. It is so incredibly comfortable & I’m in love with this color, even though it does come in other color options as well.
This floral dress is incredibly flattering & I honestly feel like it could work for any body type! The chest is a smocked material & it has really dainty puff sleeves which you can wear on or off your shoulders. The colors are so beautiful & vibrant! I’m wearing a small & it hits just below my ankle with heels on. I love how flowy & pretty it is! It comes in other colors & prints as well.
