February Fashion Finds
I saw a meme the other day on Instagram that said, 'we are five months into 2020 & yet it's only the beginning of February'. It feels so true!! I feel like the month of January lasted forever. Maybe that's because the holiday season is over & the weather is still very winter-y. Since the holidays are over, I just want it to be spring already. But since it's not, I thought I'd share some of my most recent sweaters & turtlenecks that I'm in love with.
Aerie...
Bethany got this maroon slouchy turtleneck for Christmas from Aerie & I fell in love with it too so I got it for myself lol. I've worn it with leggings & my grey mesh sneakers like Bethany is in this picture, but I've also dressed it up a bit & worn it with my regular favorite Madewell jeans or even my light wash boyfriend jeans from Old Navy. This turtleneck is just so versatile & can be worn so many different ways. It's not super warm so I usually wear a t-shirt underneath just to keep some heat in. It's oversized so Bethany & I are both wearing an XXS when we'd usually wear a small or XS. It's available in three other colors & is less than $20!
PS - how cute is my little sister?!
These turtlenecks are from Aerie & I LOVE them! They're both a chenille type fabric, but not as soft as the Wal-Mart one you'll see below. These turtlenecks have side slits so I wear a black + white striped t-shirt underneath just to add a little pop of pattern. This turtleneck is just really cozy & fun because of the knitted material. Both of these sweaters are oversized so I'm wearing an XXS & I would usually wear a small, just keep that in mind when ordering! Overall I'm a huge fan! I'm wearing my favorite Madewell jeans & Steve Madden leopard mules (left pic) & Steve Madden grey slip on shoes (right pic), but I also have worn it with leggings. It appears to be sold out online so check in stores if you're interested! Also, no I don't have a tail. My cat Sophie just got a little jealous & wanted to be in the left picture lol.
Jane...
If you've never heard of Jane before, you're about to find your new favorite place to shop! It's an online site / app that pools together a ton of items from different shops & boutiques at really great prices. They have all kinds of things from furniture to jewelry, to home decor items to clothing. I could spend hours on this app! Their items usually only last a day or two on the app so you have to make decisions quickly or they'll be gone. I've bought so many different things through Jane over the years & so have many of my close friends!
If you've been around here long enough then you know that I am a sucker for stripes. Always have been, probably always will be. I saw this striped long sleeve shirt one day when I was scrolling through & snagged it. I thought it was going to be more of a t-shirt material, but it's thicker than that which I actually like. It's definitely a longer fit, but I like that too! I'm wearing a small & I would say it's a little bit bigger than expected. For a casual Saturday out running errands (which of course has to include a Starbucks stop), I paired it with my favorite Madewell jeans & Steve Madden grey slip on shoes.
Wal-Mart...
Lately I've been seeing a lot of awesome finds from Wal-Mart & decided to search for some myself & I found two great options!!
Yet another striped top because I can't control myself LOL!
This striped long sleeve is kind of a waffle knit material & it's really great quality! It's a little bit longer in the back which I like. I think it's going to be a great piece as we transition into spring -- it'll look great front tucked into a pair of jean shorts! The sleeves are cuffed which I appreciate because I don't have to roll them. Overall a great fit! I'm wearing it with my favorite Madewell jeans & Steve Madden tan suede mules. It's less than $10 & is available in a grey + black striped option as well!
This cozy black turtleneck is incredibly soft chenille fabric. It comes in five other colors & is less than $10!!! This turtleneck is such a steal it's not even funny. It fits true to size & stops right at my hip line. I typically like for my tops, sweaters especially, to cover my bottom so if I were to buy this again, I might size up one just to make sure that it will do that. Overall, it's a really great turtleneck & I would've never guessed it to be from Wal-Mart based on its quality. I'm wearing my favorite Madewell jeans & Steve Madden leopard mules.
