College Girl Collages

If you follow me on Instagram or LTK, then you’ve probably noticed that I have really stepped up my game when it comes to collages of sales, outfit inspos & new items. Well, that is all thanks to my youngest sister, Avery. She’s a “poor college student” & my mom & I were looking for some extra help on the blog, so it just made sense to bring her on board! We’ll be compiling all of the collages into one post each week so that they’re all in one place & to give those who don’t use social media a place to find them!

Avery & I have always shared a love of affordable fashion & beauty trends. We both love trying out new hair styles & I’m pretty sure that we’ve both had about every hair color there is lol we’re always sending each other tiktoks of new hairstyles to try + easy beauty hacks.

Avery is a freshman at Kansas State University (go cats!!!) She’s majoring in athletic training & minoring in pre physical therapy. She gets up early to go work out at the rec, but then goes back to sleep until the very last minute before class (she calls it balance lol). She spends way too much time on tiktok & is easily influenced. When she’s not on tiktok, she’s spending time with her roommates or her sisters in Alpha Delta Pi! My family often calls her the queen of positivity because she usually sees the best in people & situations. Her two favorite things are Jesus & ice cream!

a quick note from Avery...

Hey friends! I’m excited to share another little peak into my life again this week! The first thing I have to say is that somehow I managed to go through an entire Caturday and not get a single gameday pic?? I’m just glad that I got a few pictures this week because I really am awful at remembering to take them! Even though I had some really fun things going on this week, it wasn’t an easy one for me. The truth is, it’s been a while since I’ve been home, so Thanksgiving break is going to be really good for me. I’m in that phase of freshman year where I just feel lonely. I’m missing my high school friends, my cat, and nights in my own bed back home. College is hard because all the people who have known you and loved you your whole life still know you and love you, but it’s from a distance for the very first time. It’s been two months since I’ve seen my high school best friend, when I used to see her all day, everyday from kindergarten through senior year. Sometimes that just feels really hard. One thing that has really helped me was copying a friends notecard idea. I picked a few of the hard feelings I’ve been feelings lately and found some corresponding bible verses! I keep them in my pocket all the time and when I feel any of those feelings creeping up, I get the notecards out and read them!

More things that have helped are doing little things that remind me of home, like watching Newspring Church! I’m thankful that Pastor Mark has the ability to make me grow in my faith so much whether that’s from the auditorium in Newspring, or in the sonic parking lot with a cherry limeade!

The last thing that helps me is staying busy, and my sorority really helps with that. We do so many fun things that feeling lonely is almost impossible! (And can we talk about how gorgeous the ADPi Home is in the fall?!)

We had a sisterhood event that had to be one of the most uplifting things I’ve ever done! It’s called “Tag a Sister.” Basically we all wore our white t-shirts, painted up our hands and someone would read off “Tag a Sister who….” and you would go add a handprint to the girl pr girls who the line made you think of the most. Some of them were so sweet like “Tag a Sister who makes you feel loved” or “who always makes you laugh.” And some were funny like “Tag a Sister who could murder someone and get away with it” or “who’s going to name their kids the weirdest names.” Which oddly enough I got tagged like five times on that last one so please let me know if you get that vibe from me!! Whether the tags were over something funny, sweet, or weird, everyone walked away covered in handprints and I thought it was the sweetest thing!

Another fun event we did this week was a volleyball tournament for our philanthropy! The fraternities on campus could pay to play! It was super fun, and since I played volleyball for 9 years, I got to be one of the officials! It was super fun but also overwhelming! I’ve never been yelled at by so many men before! Remember Lucas from last week? I might have to take back some of the nice things I said about him, because he gave me a very dirty look once… but he was the only one who apologized after so I won’t be too bitter. Overall, it was super fun and brought me back to my volleyball glory days. Yes, they were last year but I still miss it!

Overall, with break coming up I know I’ve been really focused on how badly I want to go home, but I did have a lot of exciting things happen this week and I know I need to do a better job of living where my feet are and enjoying the fun things I get to be a part of! Thanks for coming along with me this week!
