What's up Wednesday

Because of the new site set up, this post should’ve been posted on February 24th, but the switch made things a little quirky.

what I'm eating...

I'm a big sweets girl & this can really bite me in the butt, especially when I'm *trying* to eat better! Sometimes I can trick myself into feeling like some yogurt with fruit + honey is a good enough dessert, but these Chobani flip cups are even better! I absolutely love all of the different kinds & feel like my sweet tooth is satisfied after having one of these. A way better alternative to all of the other sweet snacks I'd go for!

what I'm loving...

I've been using Tarte's brow pomade for a few months now & can say that it is my favorite eyebrow product that I've ever used! I don't really need a product that will give my eyebrows a new shape, I'm just looking for them to be more filled in. I definitely would not consider myself a makeup guru & I'm not even that great at it! That's why this product is so perfect for me! It's super easy to wipe off the product if you do mess up. I also got this tool that comes with a spoolie brush on one end & the mini brush to apply the pomade on the other end. I know that Tarte's products are kind of expensive, but I honestly don't think I'll run out of this product for at least a year -- I don't have to use very much which is amazing!

I wear the shade medium cool brown.

Yeti quality cup but WAY cuter & for a fraction of the price!!!! $10 y’all! This is not a drill!!! Happy Valentine’s Day to me from Target! ;)

A few months ago I bruised the palm of my hand trying to open a jar of Trader Joe’s salsa lol #tinyhandsprobs. Anyone else have similar struggles? Look no further! This easy jar opener tool is such a life safer. It has different sizing options so it’ll fit any lid. No more bruised palms for me! I even got one for my Mom for Christmas because she was so jealous of mine lol!

IMG_7087.JPG

Y’all this angry mama microwave steam cleaner is a straight up game changer. You add a mixture of vinegar & water & put it in the microwave & it literally makes all of the pops of food disappear! It’s amazing!!! Another gift I got for my Mom for Christmas.

IMG_7090.JPG

Okay honestly, who doesn’t need a cordless handheld vacuum in their lives? So nice for people who have pets because it easily picks up fur off of furniture! I have one & it’s been a game changer for my cat who loves my couch lol. I also got my Mom one of these for Christmas because she used mine when she helped me move in November & was obsessed with how easy it is! (When it comes to gift giving, do you think I lean towards practicality or what? lol!)

IMG_7089.JPG

I had a little sample of this moisturizer & had been testing it out for the last month or so. My sample ran out so I started using my other moisturizers, but my face was SO dry! I finally ordered this bottle because I knew it was the only thing that was working for my face right now. I don’t really struggle with redness, but I just really like how silky smooth this stuff is & how hydrated it makes my face feel.

IMG_7088.JPG

Speaking of moisturizers & lotions, my hands always get so dry during the winter & a teacher at my school recommended this lotion to me & it’s pretty much been life changing! My hands are like velvet-y smooth & they feel so moisturized!

img_3684.jpg

The lotion doesn’t always help my dry cuticles though. I’ve been getting quite a few hangnails lately because of my cuticles, but if I’m being real, one of my nervous/anxious habits is messing with my fingertips so sometimes I create hangnails all on my own. I was looking for some type of oil or solution that I could apply to my fingertips because the lotion just isn’t cutting it. I found this cuticle oil from Amazon & it’s been wonderful — I’ve already noticed a huge difference! A huge plus is that it’s reasonably priced at less than $7 & I already know it’s going to last me forever. Each night I apply one tiny drop to the nail area of each finger on my left hand, then rub my left hand’s fingers together with my right hand’s fingers. Five drops for both hands is MORE than enough! They will make your hands a little bit greasy so I use the drops at night & then go to bed (trying as hard as possible not to touch my face or hair). Highly recommend this if you’re struggling with dry cuticles too!

I have naturally fairly tan skin, but when it loses it’s tan, my olive green undertones can really show through. To maintain an easy + subtle glow, I use Jergens Natural Glow moisturizer. I’ve been using this product since high school during my cheerleading days! It’s a go-to & has never let me down. It’s not streaky at all & you’re able to choose from a couple different shades so (if you’ve chosen the right one) you won’t be orange. I use the medium to tan moisturizer, but my sisters use the fair to medium shade & all three of us have loved our results. A couple of the downfalls:

  • You have to be sure to wash your hands shortly after applying the lotion because it can & WILL turn your hands orange & it’s difficult to rub off.

  • I wouldn’t necessarily say that the product smells bad, but I don’t think it smells wonderful either. I mean it just smells like a self-tan lotion & not like flowers or perfume.

  • I’ve tried this product on my face because I don’t want my body to be tan & my face to be white. When I did this, my face did break out a bit which is to be expected since it is a product made for your body & not your face. They do offer a facial tinted moisturizer, however, I haven’t tried it yet!

All in all, this product isn’t perfect & it does have a few flaws, but overall, it gives me a very natural glowing tan & is incredibly easy to apply so I’ll keep using it until I find a product that does the exact same thing, but smells like flowers lol.

I’ve pretty much always been obsessed with exfoliating my skin & wanting it to be as smooth as possible. & when I exfoliate, I want it to be so rough that I feel like I’ve lost at least one (maybe two) layers of skin by the time I’m done lol. I saw these exfoliating shower gloves when I was browsing on Amazon & fell into the trap & bought them & holy stinkin’ cow am I glad I did!!!! Y’all they are legit AMAZING! I got the “heavy” set, but they also have a lighter set that is less rough. You just get it wet, put some body wash on the glove & wash yourself. They’re legit amazing!!! My skin has seriously never been so soft! The first time I used them, I only did it on one of my legs & not the other just so I could see if I could tell a difference. Shaving was SO much easier & my lotion even went on better on the leg I had exfoliated! These are a super win for me!

what I'm watching / reading...

I will never be ashamed to say that I'm a huge rom com / chick flick lover. I love it in books & in movies. The last movie in the To All The Boys I've Loved Before Netflix series came out on February 12th. This movie makes me feel a little bit senti because I also have two sisters who I couldn't do life without! & watching the main characters try to figure out their high school love story brings back a lot of memories -- some good & some bad. My sisters & I watched the first two movies together so we of course had to have a little weekend date to watch the third together too!

what I'm wearing...

Amazon...

I swear everyone & their dog has posted about this shacket lol it was out of stock for a really long time in my size, but when I saw that it was finally in stock, I ordered it as fast as I could! The outside fabric is very very soft, but the inside isn't the same material -- I wouldn't call it itchy necessarily, but it's definitely not quite as soft as the outside. I absolutely love this color scheme -- neutral + cozy! It definitely fits oversized & is legging friendly for me! I really like how it looks "dressed up" too.

IMG_7656.JPG

I saw someone share this black grandpa cardigan buttoned up & tucked in & you better believe I ran to my computer to order it! HOW CUTE! I never would've thought to tuck it in like this! It has balloon sleeves & a bit of a baggier fit, but the length is true to size. The buttons are really pretty, but if you choose to style it like this, I would highly recommend wearing something underneath because there's only three buttons so it leaves some gaping holes lol. Pretty soft & comes in other colors!

IMG_6240.jpg

Sharing a picture of it untucked here so you can see the size + shape.

IMG_6239.jpg

This. Sweater. Is. EVERYTHING. How stinking darling, right?! I absolutely love the asymmetrical print, & it's the same way on the back. I just love how different it is! I got a size small & say that it fits just a little bit oversized -- the arms are a little bit long & so is the waist. Overall it fits really well though!

IMG_6327.jpg

It's kind of hard to tell in my picture, but this grey sweater is two-toned. The top part of my chest & shoulders is just a slightly lighter color of grey than the rest -- it's not ombre though because there's a clear line of divide. This sweater is super soft, but is unfortunately on the pricier side of the things that I share, however, I think it's worth it because of the quality that you're getting out of it. This sweater fits true to size -- I'm wearing a small. It comes in a few other color options as well!

IMG_6302.jpg

Y'all know how much I love my neutrals & this one goes right up there with the best of the best! I love how the colors contrast each other, but aren't too bright or vibrant. This color scheme is perfect for fall + winter -- so stinking cozy looking! It is fairly soft & fits true to size -- I'm in a small. Size up if you want to wear it with leggings!

IMG_6279.jpg

Okay I think this might be my favorite floral shirt I've EVER owned! Oh my goodness where to even start?! Okay first of all, I absolute love the pattern & color scheme! I would say that in real life it's a little more pastel than the fall colors shown on the website's photo. I feel like it will work really well for both the spring & fall months. Second, y'all know I love babydoll tops. I just feel like they're really flattering on any body type because they give an illusion of a smaller waist & wider hips. Who doesn't want to look like they've got an hourglass figure going on? The fabric isn't cotton or a blouse material which I like because it's super comfy! It fits true to size & I'm wearing a small. I'm about to go snag it in every single color option available!

IMG_6246-768x1024.jpg

Sharing an up close picture so you can see the colors & pattern better below!

IMG_6252-768x1024.jpg

& y'all it looks absolutely DARLING with my favorite black grandpa sweater!!! You'll find me in this outfit ALL spring long!

IMG_6253.jpg

I'm always looking for pieces that can easily be dressed up or down. This quarter zip would look great with jeans & tennis shoes on a Friday at school, & obviously looks great with leggings too! It definitely runs big -- covers my bottom well & had to roll the sleeves a few times. The pocket in the middle goes all the way through & the zipper is functional! The material is kind of slick so it almost feels like an athletic jacket. Online the color looks much more maroon-ish than it actually is — it's much more of an orange color.

IMG_6256-768x1024.jpg

I mentioned up above that I love neutrals & I wasn't kidding lol. Okay the cutest part of this sweater is the small ribbed detailing on the neckline & cuffs on the sleeves, & the exposed seam lines on the hem & shoulder areas. It's just so cute & different from other sweaters & I love that! I'm wearing a small here & would say it fits true to size. They do have other colors available as well!

IMG_6321.jpg

Okay this sweater is in the color apricot which I thought was absolutely beautiful. So different from the other tans & browns that I have in my closet. It is BEYOND soft! Like I want a lounge set in this exact material! It's called a tunic for a reason — it was veeeery long, definitely legging friendly. But I wanted to show that you can front-tuck just about anything into a pair of jeans & make it look great! It has a nice mock neck & is all around just super cozy & soft.

IMG_6308.jpg

I'm very into fun patterns lately & this sweater takes the cake — I love the different layers of colorblock. The two thin stripes on the sleeve remind me of vintage football jerseys lol. The deep red & tan colors look really nice + warm together. The sweater is definitely a bit oversized, I got a small & still had to front-tuck it. The mockneck was nice because it's not too high or tight!

IMG_6342-scaled.jpg

I've seen this sweater shared a few times so I figured I ought to try it out as well. The buttons along the left neck & shoulder area is a really cute + unique detail on this sweater! Overall, this sweater is pretty slim-fitting, both in the neck & in the body. I like for my sweaters to be a bit more loose fitting than this, but I still thought it was cute!

IMG_6271.jpg

Sharing a close-up picture of the button detailing below.

IMG_6272.jpg

The picture online of this sweater made it look a lot more rust than actual orange, so I'll be the first to say that I was disappointed in the actual color. Overall I didn't love this sweater. For me it was a little too long & a little too slim. I just didn't love how it fit on my body. The material seems to be good quality though which is a plus!

IMG_6333.jpg

I think it's important that I share pieces that I love & don't love with y'all, so that's why I'm sharing this one. It felt like great quality material but obviously was HUGE & way too oversized for me. So if you're taller than 4'11" & generally wear bigger than a small / medium, this might work for you!

IMG_6338.jpg

I've seen that these sherpa jackets are in style lately & I love how warm sherpa is so I figured I'd love one! This one is really great quality! The inside isn't a sherpa material, but more of a slick soft material, almost silky. It fits great -- very true to size! & comes in a few other color options.
