Feel Good Friday
Because of the new site set up, this post should’ve been posted on February 19th, but the switch made things a little quirky.
Yay for Friday! This week felt like the longest week & the shortest week all at the same time. We had remote learning days Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday due to weather & power outages, so we only had in-person school on Thursday & Friday.
what we've been up to...
Last Friday was my sister’s homecoming & she was a candidate!
It was so fun to finally be out of quarantine & get to hang out with my family again! Our brother even came home from college for the evening to support her. The last time we were all together was Christmas. There’s truly nothing better than this fam!
Also, my sister looked absolutely GORGEOUS!
outfits of the week…
For the past couple of months or so I’ve started *trying* to consistently share my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet.
Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday...
Due to the crazy winter storm we got, my district had remote learning days on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, which means I hung out in my comfy clothes & lounged around lol.
Thursday...
Finally got to go back to school! Out of the last eleven school days, I’ve only been in-person for five of those days! This was due to being quarantined because I was exposed to Covid & then also because we had snow days / remote days because of the crazy weather. As a counselor, it’s hard to do much of anything on those days. Our building is still pretty dang cold, so I wore one of my favorite + warmest sweaters that I’ve had for years! It’s chenille fabric so that makes it even better. Had I known how much I’d end up loving this sweater, I would have bought it in every color! I honestly can’t even remember where I bought it from, so I’ll link a similar option here.
friday favs...
My electric blanket pooped out on me this week which was NOT a good week for it to do that considering it was the coldest week I've lived through in my whole life!! Okay maybe that's a bit dramatic. But still! I ordered a new one through JCPenny because it was on major clearance & I honestly couldn't find a good one through Amazon. It's supposed to be here next week & I'm beyond excited! I think I've fully reached adulthood now lol.
I've been using Tarte's brow pomade for a few months now & can say that it is my favorite eyebrow product that I've ever used! I don't really need a product that will give my eyebrows a new shape, I'm just looking for them to be more filled in. I definitely would not consider myself a makeup guru & I'm not even that great at it! That's why this product is so perfect for me! It's super easy to wipe off the product if you do mess up. I also got this tool that comes with a spoolie brush on one end & the mini brush to apply the pomade on the other end. I know that Tarte's products are kind of expensive, but I honestly don't think I'll run out of this product for at least a year -- I don't have to use very much which is amazing!
I wear the shade medium cool brown.
I'm very into fun patterns lately & this sweater takes the cake -- I love the different layers of colorblock. The two thin stripes on the sleeve remind me of vintage football jerseys lol. The deep red & tan colors look really nice + warm together. The sweater is definitely a bit oversized, I got a small & still had to front-tuck it. The mockneck was nice because it's not too high or tight!
I've seen this sweater shared a few times so I figured I ought to try it out as well. The buttons along the left neck & shoulder area is a really cute + unique detail on this sweater! Overall, this sweater is pretty slim-fitting, both in the neck & in the body. I like for my sweaters to be a bit more loose fitting than this, but I still thought it was cute!
Sharing a close-up picture of the button detailing below.
The picture online of this sweater made it look a lot more rust than actual orange, so I'll be the first to say that I was disappointed in the actual color. Overall I didn't love this sweater. For me it was a little too long & a little too slim. I just didn't love how it fit on my body. The material seems to be good quality though which is a plus!
I think it's important that I share pieces that I love & don't love with y'all, so that's why I'm sharing this one. It felt like great quality material but obviously was HUGE & way too oversized for me. So if you're taller than 4'11" & generally wear bigger than a small / medium, this might work for you!
I've seen that these sherpa jackets are in style lately & I love how warm sherpa is so I figured I'd love one! This one is really great quality! The inside isn't a sherpa material, but more of a slick soft material, almost silky. It fits great -- very true to size! & comes in a few other color options.
