Feel Good Friday
Hello lovely humans!! Once school is out today it is officially my Thanksgiving Break & I could not be more excited! I was talking to a friend last weekend who's a 5th grade teacher & she said "not only do I need a break from the kids, but the kids need a break from me too." I thought this was a really humble & sweet way of saying that everyone is about at their breaking point so a break from one another would be good. So here's a shout out to all the educators out there who are about to get a much deserved break! & to the people who don't work in a school & don't get as long of a break as we do, I'll be sure to eat an extra helping of mashed potatoes & take an extra nap on the couch for you. ;)
friday favs...
This week on the blog we shared some pretty wonderful things: my mom's pumpkin bread recipe; my Old Navy fall haul; & comfy clothes that are perfect for a Saturday spent lounging or running errands.
My mom is really good at making sure there's some type of food always at her house that's really easy to grab & eat when you're on the go. This is super helpful considering everyone's busy schedules! In the fall, my mom always makes pumpkin bread & it is just darn good. When I think about what fall tastes like, I think it would taste like this pumpkin bread. Yum. Click here to see her recipe!
As a devoted Old Navy lover, I thought I might as well share some great pieces that I've found there recently. I shared outfits from totally comfortable to what I wear to school, which let's be honest, is still pretty comfortable lol. Keep reading to hear a funny story about the speckled ivory sweater from picture three up above. Click here to read my Old Navy Fall Haul post.
& the most important post from the week... drumroll please... comfy clothes! Let's be real, these are the kind of outfits we all wish we were wearing on Thanksgiving lol click here to read the post.

Additionally, if you're starting to look for Christmas presents, be sure to check out the 12 things the Rice Girls have been loving posts! They're full of products/clothes/items that my mom & sisters & I can't get enough of. These posts would be a great place to get some ideas for Christmas presents! The October edition is linked here & the November edition is linked here. I'll also link a Feel Good Friday post from a few weeks ago here because I talk about all of the wonderful gifts that my family (mom) got me for my birthday in late October! I would recommend each one of these items as a gift for sure.
to look forward to...
While we had some great posts this week, I'm already excited for next week's posts! We're sharing three apparel posts again. Pretty in Pink will feature a few different outfits that all have the color pink somehow incorporated. I'm not a huge fan of the color pink so I like the subtle options the best. Oh, the colors of Fall will be a post all about fall colors incorporated into our daily outfits. & my favorite of all three will be The Most Wonderful Time of the Year & I'll be sharing a few Christmas t-shirts that I've found! Even though Thanksgiving hasn't happened yet, I know I'm not the only one who's already feeling a little bit of the Christmas spirit creeping in. Stay tuned & get excited!

weekend plans...
This weekend I'm headed home to spend a week with my family enjoying each other's company & of course, good food. My favorite Thanksgiving food is either my mom's mashed potatoes or creamed corn. I also love my Grandma's made-from-scratch noodles in chicken noodle soup, a family tradition on my mom's side. Last year, Bethany & I got to learn how to make Grandma's famous noodles & let me tell you, I have a new appreciation for that woman!! Noodle making is not the easiest task. My aching back & full tummy thank her for her years of service.
While I'm on Thanksgiving Break I'll get to spend a bunch of much needed time with my family & celebrate one of my best friends as she gets married on Black Friday! Oh, plus I'll do a little sale shopping of course. ;)
If you're still with me & you're wondering about the funny story I mentioned earlier, you've made it! On Friday, Avery performed in a play called Arsenic & Old Lace. She did a wonderful job as Officer Brophy! When my Grandma arrived, I did a double take... because... we were wearing the exact same Old Navy ivory speckled sweater. Yep, you read that right. I was twinning with my grandma. We looked like quite the sight sitting next to one another I'm sure! But kudos to Old Navy for having sweaters that work for a 23 year old & a 73 year old!
