Feel Good Friday
Holy smokes! How are we already one week into November? This is crazy. I feel like it was just August & school was starting & everybody was getting back into the swing of things! Good grief. Now it's already November which tends to be a pretty busy time of year for a lot of us with the holidays beginning & basketball season coming into full swing. Still, I love this time of year!
friday favs...
This week we talked about two of my most favorite things: comfortable clothing + good books! Click here to see our post featuring some cute & comfortable outfits that are warm & cozy & perfect for these cool temperatures that seem to be here to stay. Wasn't it just a few weeks ago that it was in the 90s? & click here to read our November book review. These two posts go well together because I love to wear these comfy outfits while cozied up on the couch with a good book.
to look forward to...
Next week, we're doing another post on 12 things the Rice girls have been loving lately. This post will have a lot of great options to help you start getting some ideas for Christmas presents since it'll be here before we know it! We'll also be posting two different fashion posts. One will feature a few different jumpsuits which is a perfect transition if you're someone who loves a good romper. The second will feature a specific piece of clothing that has become a staple piece in my closet (hint: it's my new favorite black & white striped turtleneck).
weekend plans...
As I said earlier, November tends to be a pretty busy moth with basketball games beginning & the holiday parties approaching, etc. I've always loved *watching* sports. I'm not very athletic, but I was a cheerleader all throughout high school so I love encouraging others as they use the gifts & talents that God has blessed them with!
As my siblings grew up, I attended almost all of their sporting events. Partially because I loved watching them compete, but also because I love watching sports in general.
Working at a middle school has been wonderful & has so many perks -- one of them being the endless amounts of activities to supervise. I've taken advantage of these opportunities because I'm able to keep the scorebook, watch some of my favorite students compete & use their God-given-gifts & get paid while doing it! Woot! Surprisingly, not very many people are fighting over this spot, so I'm signed up for almost every home game lol.
I love being able to catch students in the hallway or at lunch the next day & tell them what a great job they did during their game. The way their faces light up shows me that receiving an intentional compliment makes their day & for me, it makes the long days even more worth it. The following quote by Ruthie Lindsey is such a great reminder to me to give people around me intentional compliments:
Because of how busy I am during the week, I really rely on slow weekends to help me rejuvenate & get myself ready for the next week. This weekend is my last weekend in Manhattan for a little while, between Bachelorette parties & Thanksgiving Break (what in the world!?). So I'll be taking full advantage of my last weekend in my happy place to rest & get ready for the busy weekends to come!
What are your plans for the weekend? Drop them below in the comments, or feel free to message us on Facebook or Instagram! We'd love to hear what you're all up to. We hope you all have a wonderful & cozy weekend!
