Feel Good Friday
This week was a fairly short week because we only had school Monday through Thursday, & today is officially spring break -- HALLELUJAH!!! I don't have much of a recap to give for this past week, so let's just dive right into the good stuff, shall we?
friday favs...
My mom always does such a great job seasonally decorating her house. She recently got a darling welcome mat & here's what she had to say about it:
I love decorating my front porch seasonally & changing out the welcome mat is a pretty simple way to do it. I found this darling one on Amazon of all places. I think it looks great with our front door! HELLO SPRING! I am so ready for you!
PS - I was really torn because I loved this one too! But with the color of our front door, I opted for the first one. I think both are so cute!
I got this ladder shelf from Amazon at the beginning of the year when I moved into my apartment. I wanted something that I could use for decoration, but that would also be functional. I absolutely love this one that I found! I decorated mine with some succulents, books & pictures. I love all of the different pops of color, but it's still very simple at the same time.

Continuing with some of my favorite things in my bedroom, I have to include this darling jewelry hanger set that I also got from Amazon. Best part? You get three for less than $17 right now! Mine also came with a third hanger, but I didn't feel the need to put it up. The stain I got is called "natural" but they do offer a darker stain called "rustic brown" as well. I love that you can choose different stains of wood to customize it to match the style of your house & room. These jewelry organizers are perfect for what I need & wanted to share in case you need something like this as well!

Two things I love in my outfits: comfort & neutrals with pops of color. I'm a huge neutrals girl, but I love adding in a bright pop of color to my outfits! I feel like it gives it some sass while still keeping the classic neutral look. My entire outfit (besides my shoes) is Old Navy! When I saw this red, black & white splattered hair scarf, I knew it needed to be mine. I love bright red & it'll go great with my school's colors next year!

On the bookshelf: It was time for our monthly book review! Since I'm taking four graduate classes this semester, I haven't been able to do hardly any reading (for fun -- I've done plenty of reading if you consider all of my textbooks, but I'm guessing y'all wouldn't be too interested in those lol). So this month's book review is all books that my parents have read!
bachelor recap -- women tell all...
I've said it almost every week that I've written a recap of this season, but I'm just not looking forward to this episode. I just honestly don't know how much more of it I can take! I think it's just because there was just SO much drama while the majority of the girls were in the house so I just know that this Women Tell All episode is going to be just as bad, if not worse. Poor Peter has been put through the ringer as well as all of America!
rose ceremony thoughts...
First of all, I was under the impression from last week's episode that Madison had sent herself home -- not that she was going to go sleep on it & come to the rose ceremony the next day!!! Anyone else?
A few things...
Who told Hannah Ann that it was a good idea to wear a dress that was a cross between a 20's flapper dress & a nightgown & then lather her chest in baby oil?
Is Victoria wearing a cream / champagne colored wedding dress?
Madison looks darling & incredibly tan per usual (note to self: do research on what self-tanner she uses).
Is it cold in Australia? All three girls look freezing (note to self: do research on Australia's climate (don't judge me, world geography isn't my forte))!
rose ceremony thoughts continued...
Hannah Ann's hug with Peter lasted FIVE YEARS when she accepted the rose! How stinkin' awk.
I honestly thought poor Pete might puke when he was waiting on Madison's answer.
There's actually a part of me that feels sad for Victoria. No, I don't think her & Peter's relationship was a healthy one, but that doesn't mean I wish that girl a broken heart! Why was Hannah Ann crying??? She's so stinkin' weird lol I just don't think I'll ever like her.
Back to Victoria, I feel like this experience is just going to put her deeper into her self-sabotaging hole. "It is what it is" is not what you say to someone who you were prepared to get engaged to in a week! I think she shed like three tears maaaybe four in front of Peter & then she just shrugged it off in the limo. Poor girl. She's got some stuff to work through.
women tell all thoughts...
I don't even think that I can recap this part of the episode. Y'all. Arguing, belittling, attempts at fifteen seconds of fame, tears, short & revealing dresses, & a lesson on online bullying. I actually really appreciated that they acknowledged the amount of hate that people in the spotlight receive. It's so easy to say whatever you want when you're behind a screen, including for me! Would I filter the things I write if I knew the people I was writing about were going to read it directly? Probably so..
me this entire season...
vs. me after the online bully lesson...

weekend & spring break plans...
As of yesterday at 2:56pm, I'm officially on spring break!!! Let me tell ya, this week off from school is much needed. Can I get an amen, educators?! I've got lots of fun things planned during my break including:
visiting Marion Middle School (where I'll be working next school year as their School Counselor)
breakfast with a friend
a dentist appointment (yes, I consider this fun -- who doesn't love squeaky clean teeth?!)
a day trip to Pawhuska, Oklahoma to visit the Pioneer Woman store (eep!)
watching my youngest sister compete in her second powerlifting meet (how the heck is a Rice girl a powerlifter?!)
afternoon / evening walks with my mama
of course a little shopping -- gotta get stocked up on Trader Joe's while I can, ya feel?
probably some movie nights with my sisters (but let's be honest, we'll probably also be sharing our favorite TikTok videos (don't judge me people, I'm twenty-three & I'm doing my best to stay relevant! Plus, some of them are actually make-your-tummy-hurt funny))
What are your plans for the weekend? Drop them below in the comments, or feel free to message us on Facebook or Instagram! We’d love to hear what you’re all up to. We hope you all have a wonderful & cozy weekend!
