Feel Good Friday
Last Friday I shared that this week was my spring break week & some of the things that I had planned! Most of them I was able to follow through with & thoroughly enjoy the extra time to relax & spend time doing things that bring me joy. Some of the fun things I did included:
Visiting Marion Middle School (where I'll be working next school year as their School Counselor). I was able to tour the school, meet the staff & some students! I got to see my office, so I've been spending a lot of time on Pinterest creating ideas for how I'll want to decorate. Can't wait to share that with you all!
Breakfast with a friend. We both got gluten-free pancakes & I have to say, they were a lot better than I was expecting them to be! (far left picture)
A dentist appointment. I love the feeling of squeaky clean teeth! (middle left picture)
Afternoon / evening walks with my mama.
Dirt road cruisin'. (middle right picture)
Walking with a friend. A few blisters & belly laughs later, we realized we had been walking & talk for almost an hour & a half! (far right picture)
Lunch & an afternoon walk with my sister & Grandma.
Movie nights with my sisters (but let's be honest, we ended up sharing our favorite TikTok videos (don't judge me people, I'm twenty-three & I'm doing my best to stay relevant! Plus, some of them are actually make-your-tummy-hurt funny)).
friday favs...
For Christmas, my mom got the girls & I this NYX lipgloss & we all love it! It's almost impossible to find a shade of lipgloss that looks good on all three of us, but this one truly does! The color is called 'Soft Spoken'. It has a matte finish which I usually combat by finishing with a layer of chapstick. This lipgloss is so long lasting too! Another great perk is that its only $7 from Ulta!
This week the weather was finally nice enough that I was able to break out this darling soft denim light wash romper overalls from Aerie! I wore a long sleeve with it just because the air is still a little crisp & chilly. Can't wait to wear this more as the weather keeps warming up!
links provided here:black + white striped long sleeve top dupe / soft denim light wash romper overalls / leopard sandals (mine are kids size so they look a little bit different) / big black sunglasses / NYX lip color / leopard apple watch band / leopard loopy phone case (get 10% off using code smalltown10!)
Continuing with the spring theme, how fun is this bright choral / pink nail polish?! I can see myself wearing this shade a lot for the spring & summer months. The shade is 'Oh So 90210'. My leopard apple watch band is linked here.

bachelor recap: season finale...
night one...
If I'm being completely honest, I was pretty excited for this week's episodes, but I think that's maybe because the season is almost over & I'm just ready to be done with it? Plus, I really just want to know who Peter is going to finally end up with because up to this point, I thought it was fairly clear, but now it may not be.
Hannah Ann meeting the Weber fam...
Yellow is a great color on her! Peter clearly thinks so too as he can't seem to keep his hands off of her. This behavior is past PDA to me -- he's being all clingy & weird! If I bring a boy home & he hugs me like this, call the cops.
Hannah Ann had barely been able to sit down on the couch before she started spewing her love for Pilot Pete. She got a chance to talk to each family member & of course, put on her best show by shedding a couple perfect tears WHILE soft smiling at the same time. This is an act I must learn because I can say that I do not look so pleasant when I cry.
Mama Weber seems very on board! I think Hannah Ann could be a really great life partner for Peter & it sure seems like Hannah Ann fits in well with his family. The fact that he keeps going back to Madison though is a bit of a red flag to me. Papa Weber asked Peter if he was leaning more towards one or the other & the fact that he keeps going back to Madison (even though their relationship seems a bit rocky right now) makes me feel like he's leaning towards her!
Madison meeting the Weber fam (for the second time)...
WOOF. The conversation that Madison & Peter had before going in to see his parents was tough to watch. I have to say, I'm proud of her for standing up for herself & explaining herself more. I see both sides of this situation, I really do. You can tell that Madison has some deep feelings for Peter & that maybe she doesn't necessarily want to feel that way ... but you can't help who your heart loves.
Peter's brother brought down the hammer exposing the differences between Peter & Madison. I can see why he would have concerns because he pretty much said Peter is a party boy & Madison would prefer to go to church. But sometimes differences aren't necessarily a bad thing? Maybe Peter needs to be with someone like Madison who will encourage him to be the best version of himself.
Mama Weber continued with the brother's point of view, but Madison *respectfully* cut her off & explained why having differences doesn't have to be a bad thing.
It sounds like Madison got quite a bit of clarity & I got the vibe from the brother & Mama Weber that they believe Peter & Madison are on two very different pages.
Mama Weber crying... BRING HER HOME
When thinking about this big moment that they've been leading us up to all season, did I think Barbara would be referring to Hannah Ann. It was evident that Peter was not wanting to hear this.
In my opinion, she's pretty out of line here. She hasn't seen this entire season. She has no idea what Peter's relationships with these two *different* women actually look like.
Peter basically told her to knock it off & quickly hugged them all & then left. I can not imagine being Madison & watching this all back. Ugh.
Madison's last 1:1...
This date was so sad & hard to watch. You could tell that things were weighing heavily on both of them. Madison wasn't really able to be present -- she was already crying on the helicopter ride.
When Madison was ending their relationship, you could tell that both of them were completely heartbroken. For Madison, she believed that love is conquering all & that it is winning because she's able to walk away & let Peter find what he was looking for with Hannah Ann.
I truly believe that Barbara got into Madison's head. I think Madison knew of some of the differences between them & the challenges that would come from that, but Barbara presented herself as completely unwelcoming & resisted the idea of Peter & Madison together. No wonder the poor girl felt like things wouldn't work out.
Hannah Ann's last 1:1...
I just have to say, Hannah Ann has the strangest fashion style. If you like it, I'm sorry, you won't find clothing like that around here!
Fashion sense aside, finally Peter plans a date that I'd be willing to go on! Feeding & holding baby kangaroos is the type of date I'd be okay with -- no heights or any real vigorous physical activity is involved lol.
I do think that Hannah Ann is pickin' up what Peter's puttin' down though. He's not one hundred percent certain that it's her. This is a pretty sad way to feel the night before an engagement! & I know that this is a different kind of situation & it's set up to be this way, but still.
Someone needs to get this girl some new clothes!!! Clearly Hannah Ann was trying one last option to win over Peter's heart for good by wearing her tightest, shortest dress yet. You could see ALL THE WAY up her dress while they were sitting on the couch!

night two...
After Madison's day of meeting Peter's family, he was feeling like she was the one & he didn't care what his family thought. But then Madison left & because Peter still has a solid relationship with a girl who is clearly head over heels for him, Peter listened to the hearts of others instead of his own, & made a decision I'm guessing he will forever regret. I have to say, I'm a bit surprised that he really did propose to Hannah Ann just because of how obvious his feelings for Madison were.
Barbara was thrilled that Hannah Ann is now her "daughter" & I have about hit my limit of her dramatics. Little did I know, things were just getting started.
I'm not at all surprised that Peter & Hannah Ann's relationship has been rocky since the engagement. Peter was BROKEN when Madison left. You don't just get over that in a couple of days.
I don't want to put all of the blame on Peter & Hannah Ann's failed engagement on Barbara, but I do think that she played a huge role in his decision.
Also, did anyone else notice how greasy Hannah Ann's hair was during their break up conversation at Peter's house? Maybe I should message her my favorite dry shampoos. ;)
I could NOT handle Barbara clapping when Hannah Ann was going off about her son not being a man. Barbara, this is not okay. I don't want to add to the shaming of Barbara because I know she's getting enough hate as it is (see Instagram or Twitter for references), but come on. This is not a loving or supportive mother-son relationship. I was UNCOMF watching the whole thing play out. So disappointing. My heart goes out to Peter & Madison because I'm sure their relationship will be an uphill battle at least for a little while, & of course to Hannah Ann as well because getting your heart broken & feeling blindsided is always incredibly difficult.
Barbara, let me introduce you to my little friend named Karma.
Karma, meet Barbara. Barbara, meet Karma.
Due to my graduate class load, I will not be able to do recaps of Clare's season that starts in May. I hope to continue watching, but I can't say I'm too excited about her being The Bachelorette. She's five years younger than my own mother & I feel like I'm just going to be watching her date guys my age (I'm twenty-three, same age as Madison & Hannah Ann as well as other girls from this season).

So what do y’all think?! Are you glad this season is over? Do you think Peter made the right decision? & what're your thoughts on Barbara? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!!
Update: According to some Instagram posts from last night's celebrity stalking binge:
Madison & Peter have officially broken up. They had lunch together yesterday in LA & decided to call it quits. Why do I feel sad? You can see both of their Instagram captions below!
Peter was apparently hooking up with both Kelley from his season & one of The Bachelor's producers named Julia immediately following his breakup with Hannah Ann. This was before Madison knew about the breakup & decided to explore things with him again.
Alabama Hannah & Tyler from her season met up in his hometown for his mother's memorial service. Could there be a spark still between the two of them?
to look forward to...
On Tuesday next week I'll be sharing a post all about active wear that include some of my go-to pieces.
__________
Wednesday will be kind of a fun & different post. My mom & I will be sharing a 'let's look inside your purse' post. This will be fun to go through & see what kinds of things we carry around with us on a daily basis.
__________
I used to struggle with mild acne & I always wanted my foundation to be full coverage. However, since my face has cleared up, I'm starting to experiment with sheer coverage & more natural looking foundations. Likewise, this year I also developed seemingly permanent dark circles & bags under my eyes. Finding a concealer that won't look cakey, but will get the job done was difficult, but I found one & I'll never use anything else. If you're in the market for some new beauty items, this post will be a great resource for you!
weekend plans...
This weekend will be pretty chill as I wind up my spring break week! I don't really have any plans set in stone. It looks like we're supposed to get some more winter weather (ugh) here in the middle of Kansas again so I'll probably have to schedule in some pouting for that. ;) What are your plans for the weekend? Drop them below in the comments, or feel free to message us on Facebook or Instagram! We’d love to hear what you’re all up to. We hope you all have a wonderful & cozy weekend!
