the impacts of COVID-19...

CANCELLED... until further notice

It seems that these 'cancelled' signs are what you see everywhere you look for the past few days, or in my case, every time I get on social media. During this time of big questions & piling amounts of uncertainty, communication is a gift. We spent the weekend thinking about how best to handle our blog during this time & here's what we decided & why...

Our family.

My sister (far right) falls under the high risk category due to some of her health concerns including severe asthma & a weakened immune system. At the advice of my sister's doctors, in order to keep her safe, the last several days have been full of hard decisions & changes for us.

I watched as my parents had to tell my brother (far left) that he couldn't come home to visit. He had travelled to Florida last week during K-State's Spring Break & was on his way back to Manhattan when everything started to get cancelled or postponed. So he won't be able to spend his extended Spring Break or start his online college classes here with our family.

Additionally, our family is at home quarantined until further notice.

While I know that this whole situation may seem like it's being blown out of proportion, please remember to be sensitive & consider that these extra measures are being taken for people like my sister (among many others).

I know that we are definitely NOT the only ones having to make hard decisions & my guess is that there are still more to come. With that being said, it just doesn't feel right to me to come on the blog & talk about my favorite clothes, beauty finds, etc. My mom & I will be taking a short break from posting on the blog to spend more quality time with our family. Please know that we are thinking & praying for all of you & keeping in mind how much COVID-19 is impacting our nation as a whole.

We appreciate your support & kind words as we are navigating through this unchartered territory.

With much love,

the ladies from The Simply Small Town Blog
