Feel Good Friday
Happy Friday friends!! I hope you are all healthy & happy wherever you are! I cannot believe we are just about to the last week of June. Time is flying by lately! Are you feeling that way too?
what we've been up to...
This week was both my sister Avery's birthday & our Mom's birthday! We celebrated by enjoying some sweet treats including Andy's Frozen Custard. While I absolutely love Andy's, their smallest cups are SO big & I can hardly finish it. In fact only one of us did & the rest of us put ours in the freezer for later when we got home! They're just so rich & it's so much ice cream so I can't go there very often lol.
Avery turned sweet sixteen this year! It's been my parent's tradition to rent a limo for us & our friends for our sixteenth birthday to take us out to dinner. My friends & I chose half price appetizers at Applebee's lol. But because of Covid, Avery's birthday had to look a little different. Avery is a huge snack queen & she loves s'mores so we had a fun little spread for her & her friends! They also enjoyed a movie in our theatre seating basement. This was such a quick, fun & easy way to celebrate Aves & not break the bank!
We went to my Mom's favorite pizza / salad place & did some shopping for her birthday. When we got home, we had a homemade charcuterie board + some wine which was delish! My Mom ended the evening reading a book (if you don't know my Mom, this is truly a day made of all of her favorite things). Overall, it was a really nice & sweet week & we had so much fun celebrating two of our favorite people!
& of course, we had to put the birthday cake flavor as our special of the week for Chill. ;)
Our garden has been doing really well! We had some extra room so we planted a few rows of these zinnias & they look absolutely beautiful! Plus they are great to plant near your vegetables to help keep the bugs away. You can cut them & bring them in the house as well!
In case you missed it, this week I shared a post called What's up Wednesday where I share a hodgepodge of things ranging from what I've been eating lately to what things I've been reminiscing about (our family vacation to Breckenridge last summer)! Check it out by clicking here.
friday favs...
Only the essentials from Target, am I right? ;)
Summer can be really tricky when it comes to clothes... if you spend most of your time inside in the air conditioning, then you might want to wear some light pants or a light long sleeve shirt, but if you spend a lot of your time outside, then those items definitely won't work for you. My Mom works from home & has found that she's much more productive if she gets dressed for the day, even if it's just something comfy. She's been loving these soft denim shorts & found this thin crewneck this week & is obsessed! It's super light & thin which makes it great for what she needs it for right now. It'll be super cute with jeans & a colored puffer vest once fall rolls around, too! It's got colorful stripes, but they're pretty mute so there's not too much going on. Overall, a great outfit!

I've never been much of a skirt girl, but I saw this one & thought it was darling! The tiered levels mixed with the floral pattern is oh so feminine & just so darn cute! The best part? It's currently $10! I paired it with a plain black tank because there's a lot of pattern on the skirt itself. It would look super cute with a denim jacket as well.

Personal opinion: We can never have enough reminders to be kind to those around us! I'm a t-shirt kind of girl so this outfit is right up my alley. All the way down to the pink birks!

Why do these outfits give me like retro school vibes? Anyone else? The linen pants with a button down linen t-shirt partially tucked in is a bit out of my comfort zone, but after trying it on, I actually love it. & it's SO comfortable that I don't even feel like I'm dressed up which I'm all about.
This button down linen t-shirt is cropped, but since I have a super short torso, it worked great for me to front tuck it.

You'll find me in outfits just like this when school starts up again, no doubt about it! So comfy & cute & effortless. Love it! This thin sweater is currently $10 & comes in two other colors. It runs a bit long which doesn't bother me because I prefer for my tops to cover my rear.

Who doesn't need multiple pairs of sunglasses? Especially when they're only $5!!! Tortoise is my go-to pattern when it comes to sunnies & I love the almost pink hue that these have. Such a great deal for such cute sunglasses!

More linen on linen! Mustard is one of my favorite colors & I personally think it's fitting year round -- super cute in summer & in winter too! I like it because it pairs well with browns & blacks which is a good chunk of my wardrobe. I love how easy this outfit is to put together & how effortless it looks. Another great option for school starting in the fall!

& last but certainly not least for today's favs include this great scrunchie deal at three for $10!!! My sisters & I grabbed a few each because this was such a great deal & we just couldn't resist. They've got TONS of color options & patterns to choose from.
