Feel Good Friday
Hello friends! I hope this post finds you well. It seems the virus is spreading quickly again so we are praying for safety for us & all of you!
what we've been up to...
The beginning of last weekend was one of my best friend's baby showers! A day that we've been talking about since we were little girls. It looked a bit different than we had pictured, but the joy on Madison's face was right on! It was such a sweet day surrounded by the sweetest of friends & family, celebrating baby Heath who will join us soon. Sharing a few more pictures below because it was such a fun day, regardless of the masks!
Our family owns a sno cone shack, but sometimes it doesn't quite fill that craving for ice cream. ;)
This week I shared what my summer wardrobe consists of. In case you missed it, you can find it here! It includes this cute linen outfit + lots more. & of course, a bunch of things are on sale or are super affordable!
friday favs...
Doesn't this outfit just scream summer?! I absolutely love a comfy little graphic tee & it's even better when it's got flowers & greenery on it! Such an easy outfit to throw on on-the-go & stay comfy. This tee is actually a men's size medium. I wanted the fit to be a little bit bigger so I could roll the sleeves & do a little front tuck. It was exactly what I was looking for! They have quite a few other color options & they come in women's sizes as well in case you're looking for more of a figure fitting look.
above picture details linked here:brown birkenstocks / light wash denim shorts / black purse / beaded bracelet lanyard / sunglasses / floral graphic tee / fav comfy padded bra / dainty gold initial necklace / tan leather apple watch / trestique lip glaze (color is called “english rose”) / blue nail polish — fingers (shade is called “poolside fling”) / red nail polish — toes (color is called “red carpet reddy”)
My Dad got a fancy new grill / smoker during quarantine so my siblings & I got him a few things for it for Father's Day including these meat claw things lol. They looked a bit weird to me, but my Dad was thrilled! They're perfect for shredding meat, which he had just been using a fork for before.
I've been decorating my office at the school lately & absolutely LOVE this wooden border for my bulletin boards! Sharing a similar dupe here. I also ordered this eucalyptus border, but it hasn't came in yet -- super excited about this one!
My contract officially started this week & I am so excited! I am a huge iced coffee lover, homemade or from a coffee shop, so of course I needed a cute cup that says my job title, right? I sure think so! I found this darling one on Etsy & am in love! I didn't get a picture of the other side, but it looks just like a Starbucks cup -- it even has their logo! I just love how simple it is & it's exactly what I was looking for. She can write anything you want & has a few different font options / colors as well.
About six months ago my Mom finally pulled the plug & bought a billie razor. Here’s what she has to say about it:
Okay, I had been hearing all the buzz about this razor so I thought I would give it a try! I was intrigued by all the positive reviews, plus I love that it just ships refills to you automatically — so convenient & I don’t have to worry about it. I ordered a cornflower blue one as well as a travel case. My first shipment came with the handle & blade, the magnetic shower holder (the actual razor has a magnet in it so it hangs on the holder nicely), two replacement blades & the travel case all for $15.28!!! The first time using it I was blown away. The razor head seems to have a lot of give so it moves easily & wow, it gives a very nice close shave! I had mine for less than a week before I ordered a couple extra handles for Bethany & Avery to have because I knew they’d love it too! All you have to do is take a little quiz about how often you shave & it helps determine how often you should receive blade shipments — so easy & you can cancel at any time.
Since being home because of Covid, I tried it out & O M G. This razor is no joke! I can honestly say that this razor leaves me with the cleanest shave & softest legs ever! I may have to name my first child after this razor it’s that good. 😉
My youngest sister, Avery, recently tried this glycolic acid exfoliating cleanser & really loves it. I've been using it every night for almost a week & so far, I'm loving it too! When I'm exfoliating my face, the more grit, the better in my opinion. I know it's not good to deeply exfoliate your face often, so I try to limit myself to once to twice a week (sometimes I just can't help myself). But I like for my regular cleansers to have a little bit of grit as well. It just makes me feel like I'm really getting all of the makeup & dirt off my face at the end of the day. This cleanser has just the right amount! It almost feels like the homemade sugar scrubs I've made in the past! I have fairly oily skin & Avery has fairly dry skin & it's been working great for both of us.
Fresh + clean breath is something that's pretty important to me (especially now that I'm wearing a mask often ;) ). My sisters & I have been testing this TheraBreath mouthwash out & all three of us are sold! It's seriously wonderful! I haven't been able to find a mouthwash that I like because the mint flavor is often WAY too overpowering. This specific flavor is super mild & gentle & I love that I feel like I'm cleaning my mouth / throat, but not burning from the inside out lol. I went ahead & bought the two-pack because I figured it would take us that long to decide if we truly liked it or not & could tell a difference. The Rice girls will definitely be buying this again!
My sister, Bethany, got these super cute Adidas tennis shoes & they're currently 25% off with code SUMMER so I thought I'd share! ;)
