Feel Good Friday
I feel like this week was a pretty crazy one, full of construction, moving & more emails than I can count about school's reopening plans! Pretty overwhelming, but I am reminding myself to focus on the good!
what we've been up to...
It's been a super crazy week for us! They're starting to make some real progress on my parent's sunroom! I'm a visual person so now that the space is pretty much set up, it's super helpful for me to be able to picture it! I'll post some pictures below.
After a long time coming, I was finally able to move to Marion! Sharing A BUNCH of pictures of my place below! For those of you that are new around here, I've had a tough time finding a place to live in the new town I'm working in this year. Some family friends from way back when came to my rescue & are letting me rent out their basement. Their house is absolutely gorgeous & was built in 1904! It's honestly like living in a museum. See for yourself in the pictures below. ;) I'll link to what I can, but please leave a comment below if there's something specific you'd like a link for! (Also, a lot of the items & pieces in my place are from garage sales).
outside...
How stinking cute is this porch swing right in front of my door? & this view?! I mean, come on!
living room & dining room...
They left some of their larger furniture pieces like the entertainment center & their couches which is wonderful for me because I definitely don't have enough furniture to fill this big of a space! The simple wall collage is something I put together last year & loved how it looked so I redid it in my new place! Everything is from Hobby Lobby except the quote in the frame on the bottom right which was a college graduation gift from my cousin. I love the greenery & the different wooden tones in this wall collage & I think it really pulls my living room all together.
They also left a working dart machine for me which (unsurprisingly?) has gotten A LOT of use since I moved in! ;) This sleek dark-toned table set is from Ashley Furniture. I love the hightop chairs & the dark wooden tones mixed with black leather. When I bought this table over a year ago, I wanted a table that would be small enough for whatever space I'd be living in, but that would be some extra seating for when I have guests over. This is the perfect dining room set for me. Here is the link for my floral salt & pepper shakers (although I just realized that they’re discontinued). Here's a similar option that I think are cute! I'll link the woven baskets that I used to fill one of the areas of the entertainment center here.
kitchen...
They redid this kitchen area & I'd say they did a FANTASTIC job! How stinkin' beautiful! For Christmas this past year, my Grandma got me a DARLING recipe box! & the best part? She wrote some my favorite recipes of hers on cards! This is something I’ll cherish forever & ever! I also got a new pots & pans set. They're nonstick AND dishwasher safe! This set is WONDERFUL! So wonderful that my parents want to buy a set of their own lol. I couldn't find my exact set online, but I'll link a similar set here.
Sharing a few of the items that occupy my counters here! sugar, coffee, tea dupe canisters / ‘stir things up’ spoon rest / ‘spoon me’ spoon rest (thought this one was cute too!) / striped dish towel / striped dish towel similar option / succulent picture is from Marshall’s (here’s a similar one)
bedroom...
Absolutely love this cozy & quiet space that I get to call my bedroom! *insert heart eyes emoji here*
bathroom...
I saved the best for last... look. at. this. bathroom!!!!! I don't think I even need to say much about it, because I mean look at these pictures! Unfortunately, they don't even capture the size or beauty of this space!
I've continued to add some decorations & organizing supplies since I took these pictures, so be looking for some great items & products in the coming weeks!

friday favs...
This Boom Chicka Pop popcorn has been an absolute FAVORITE of mine lately!!! Specifically this sweet & salty kettle corn flavor, although they do have a lot of other flavors! This popcorn is truly just so delicious & is such an easy snack to grab. & of course, I couldn't help but share my favorite plastic bowls from Target that are absolutely fantastic -- no staining, great quality, deep & wide! They're literally 79 CENTS & come in a couple of other colors. You can buy the plates & cups that go as a set as well if you want to!
As I've grown up, I've come to appreciate certain products -- some that are super affordable & some that cost half an arm or a leg. But one of the best lessons I've learned is just because you want top of the line quality, doesn't necessarily mean you have to spend the big bucks to get it. You just have to find the right products! For the past six months or more I've been really liking medium coverage foundation. I tried Covergirl's Clean Matte BB Cream for Oily Skin & holy smokes -- this truly might be my new favorite foundation! I'm wearing shade Medium 540 & it's perfect! I have combination oily skin so I typically like a matte foundation, but sometimes they get cakey or flaky. This one is truly great! The same day that this new foundation came in, some new makeup brushes that I had ordered came in as well so I've been using both new products & I'm shocked at the difference it's made! The brush set comes with ten brushes, instructions on how to & what to use them for (thank goodness, am I right?), a beauty blender, & a brush cleaning tool. The biggest perk of these two items is that individually they're under $10!!! I seriously have no idea how or why because they should be charging waaaay more for this good of products. Anyway, it was definitely worth a try in my opinion & even more so now that I know how great they are!
Finally tried these Cayman Jack margaritas & I can tell ya already that I'm a BIG fan! Tastes even better sitting next to a fire. ;) I linked to them above, but you can only buy them in store since they contain alcohol. Thought I'd share anyway so you can see if they're available in your local Walmart. They come in cans as well!
We saw another influencer post about these sweat wicking undies & let me tell ya, it has been HOT & HUMID here in Kansas lately, so we just had to give them a try. They are awesome! They really do work. Perfect for workouts or anytime you are going to be getting hot & sweaty. They do say seamless & personally, I disagree with that part, however the pros outweigh the cons on these for sure!
Have y’all heard of dermaplaning? I hadn’t until recently & I wasn’t too sure what I thought of it. Basically, it’s a way to really exfoliate your face by gently scraping off dead skin cells & peach fuzz. Now that I’ve done it a couple of times, I can tell a HUGE difference in how soft & vibrant my face is! My Mom really loves it too. I use these Schick facial razors from Amazon & they’ve been great for me!
