Feel Good Friday
This week flew by didn't it?! I can't believe it is already Friday again! It makes me kinda wish all weeks were four day weeks! A girl can dream right?
what we've been up to...
Maybe the week flew by because I was SUPER BUSY! Friday night, I went back to my hometown to watch my sisters at the first home football game. Avery is a cheerleader & Bethany plays the trapset in the pep band. Aren't they just the cutest?! There is a spectator limit, so I am very thankful for every chance I get to watch them!
On Saturday, we had our final day of the season for the sno cone shack our family runs during the summers. A local church paid for sno cones for everyone who came the entire day! Isn't that an incredible act of generosity? I don't have any pictures from the day as it was CRAZY! But I did snap this one of all the syrups full & ready to go! My OCD was content with this view. Isn't that picture beautiful? I just love the full bottles lol.
The rest of the weekend was spent resting, spending time with family & preparing for the week to come, which of course included a quick trip to Trader Joes! Do you have a Trader Joes near you? Gosh I love so many things there! I, unfortunately, do not have a green thumb, but I am still so tempted by all of these plants! Look how cute!

On Tuesday, we had our last PD day & gave tours to new students & incoming 6th graders. After that, I headed out a little early to go watch my sister, Avery, play volleyball! Since her games start at 4:00 & I don't get done with school until 3:45, I knew this was my chance. I am SO glad I made the trip! She did great & I just love watching her do what she loves! Plus it was a bonus that I got to spend some extra time with Bethany too!
Finally on Wednesday, we had STUDENTS IN THE BUILDING!! It was so wonderful! I am just so excited to begin building + growing relationships. For those of you new here, I am a Middle School Counselor & am finishing up my masters as well. Life it just a little crazy! Below are my first day of school pics.
It was an unseasonably cold & rainy day which was not what I was expecting! I have to be honest, after getting pretty wet doing bus duty & then jumping in my car with the seat warmers & heater on high, I did not want to get back out when I got home! I think the picture below is a pretty accurate representation of what educators look like at the end of the first day!
friday favs...
Lately one of my favorite colors has been a soft olive green. Clearly I'm obsessed with it because my new cup (less than $12 from Walmart) matches my shorts LOL! Okay I need to talk about this cup for a second. I had been seeing a lot of people talking about it, but didn't think it was anything special UNTIL I heard that it was basically spill-proof. Now that's a game changer. The bottom side of the lid has this little switch that flicks shut when the straw is not in the hole. So if you're heading in to work & you've got a whole bunch of stuff to carry in, leave the straw out & it won't spill!! It's honestly wonderful & I had no idea how much of a help it would be!
Lol okay so I apparently need to clean my mirror. I apologize for that because it's probably going to show up in almost all of my photos. My bad! I'm currently clearly just surviving instead of thriving!
Wanna hear something funny about this grey speckled sweater? You're not gonna believe it, but ... it's actually the top of a lounge set. I'm not even kidding! It comes with matching grey speckled sweater joggers that I'll share below. I thought it was cute enough that it could pass as just a regular sweater & it totally can! It's super soft & cozy & I like that the v-neckline doesn't come down too low.

graphic tees...
One of my grandma's favorite sayings is "bloom where you're planted". Hearing that just makes me take a deep breath. When I saw this t-shirt from Walmart with that exact quote on it, I knew I had to have it! It's less than $9 & super soft! I'm wearing a large & definitely feel like it's supposed to be a crop top or something? I'm not sure. I don't feel like it fits at all like a large, but I'll take it! It looks super cute worn regularly or front tucked as well.
Pairing it with this mustard popcorn cardigan really makes the flowers pop! But it looks just as cute with this white fringe cardigan! By the way, the white cardigan is actually a kids' size from Old Navy, but I'm wearing a large & it fits perfectly so if you usually wear a women's small or medium, a large will work for you too! Unfortunately, it's old & no longer in stock, but just an idea to throw out there!

I love my flower tees! This grey one is so simple & subtle. Same sizing situation as the "bloom where you are planted" tee from above! Also, it's not see through at all which was surprising since it's less than $9!

Absolutely love this tee. I can definitely see myself wearing it to school with a cardigan or a denim jacket + black jeans! Just a smidge oversized & a tad sheer. I just wore it with a nude bra & it worked great!

I'm heading home again this weekend to go to the football game as it is senior night (Bethany is a senior & they will be recognizing the football players, cheerleaders & band members). I'm looking so forward to it! I think it is supposed to be a little warmer this weekend but more like fall weather. I am hoping to spend a little time out here too...
Such a beautiful, peaceful place to be!
