Feel Good Friday
Ya'll I have a bit of a cold & let me tell ya, during a pandemic, you cannot have a cold. You just can't. I feel like I have to swallow my cough or people look at me like I'm crazy! It's been miserable & I am sure hoping it goes away soon!
what we've been up to...
Last weekend I headed to my hometown for the football game because it was senior night & my sweet sister, Bethany plays in the pep band so she got recognized.
How is she a senior?? All of my siblings were there to watch & celebrate. So very thankful that we are all so close & support each other so well.
Lately my hometown has been having different food trucks come in & it's been AWESOME! We don't have any restaurants *gasp* so it's quite the treat when a food truck rolls in!
Found this idea & decided to use it on my Leadership & Careers class for 8th graders this week... there isn’t a better way to teach life lessons than with skittles! We learned about consequences & grace! They had to choose at least 7 skittles, but could take as many as their one (sanitized & gloved) hand could hold. Without giving them any more instructions, I allowed them to grab! Once everyone had counted their skittles... I told them that for every skittle they picked, they had to write one complete sentence about themselves. I then explained that for every action, there can be a good or a bad consequence! (I had one girl who took 8 skittles & a boy who took around 230!!!) After about 10 minutes of writing (& lots of whining lol) I taught them about grace! I allowed them to stop no matter how many sentences they had written. Even though they didn’t earn it or deserve it... I showed them grace! We then discussed what it means to be impulsive, to be a follower vs. a leader, to think things through before you act / speak, etc. It’s amazing what lessons can be taught with candy! 💗
Here is a little update on the sunroom at my parents' house. How beautiful is their ceiling? They're installing the floor & trim in the next few days & then it will be all done. Can't wait to help my mom decorate!!
Including this photo because I can't stop looking at it. Currently resisting the urge to take a FAT NAP.
In case you missed it, this week I shared a post on my favorite concealers & foundations! They're all very affordable & I'm very picky so I can promise that they're good. Here is the link to that post!
friday favs...
Lol okay so I apparently need to clean my mirror. I apologize for that because it's probably going to show up in almost all of my photos. My bad! I'm currently clearly just surviving instead of thriving!
I've always been a huge fan of babydoll, peplum, & subtle frill tops. I just think they're pretty flattering for my (& probably any!) body type. I found this tee at American Eagle & loved it so much that I ordered two other colors -- rust orange & ivory! It fits just a little bit oversized, but is great quality material. Looks super cute on its own or paired with a cardigan or denim jacket.

Here is a choral / salmon color that I have!

& here is the ivory color!

Mustard is such a popular fall color & of course this blouse is just darling with the floral stitched detail on the chest & shoulder areas. It fits true to size & is around $25!

I'm always on the look out for business casual tops that are comfortable & this one takes the cake! I paired it with jeans here just to show how it can be dressed down, but it looks great with a pair of pixie pants as well! I love how versatile it is. It has two small pockets on the chest (I tried to take a close up picture so you could see, but the pattern is kind of distracting). Great quality material & just a tad oversized! The sleeves do have a cuff which I like because they are a little bit long on me, but the cuff makes it so that they don't fall down.

leopard pants...
These. Pants. Are. Everything!!! There is nothing better than to be able to go to work feeling like you're still wearing pajamas. Absolutely LOVE these flowy pants & that they're leopard! They're definitely busy, but pairing it with a plain basic tee & sandals is perfect & it will look so cute with a denim jacket as the weather gets colder. I would recommend sizing down in these pants -- they're so flowy & the waist is a very stretchy elastic!

More leopard pants! These ones are a bit nicer than the previous ones -- they're more like a pixie, however, they're incredibly stretchy & have a zipper up the side instead of a button fly or clasp in the front. I would recommend sizing down in these as well because of how stretchy they are!

I have a pretty lowkey weekend ahead. I'm planning on watching my sister play volleyball & hopefully laying on the couch, doing nothing & not thinking... except I will probably end up doing some homework or lesson planning because my mom will drop a hint that that's what I should be doing lol!
What are your plans for the weekend? Drop them below in the comments, or feel free to message us on Facebook or Instagram! We’d love to hear what you’re all up to. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
