Feel Good Friday

Hi friends!

what we've been up to...

Wow this is the first Friday in a dang long time that I'm not writing about how my weekend plans will consist of studying for the CPCE & praise Jesus hallelujah for that!!! This week was pretty chill. My school's athletics got pushed back for another week so I didn't have much going on in the evenings which was kind of nice. I'll be done with this semester's grad classes in three weeks so I started working ahead (look at me go!) on some of those final projects & papers which I know I will be thankful for later.

In other news, a couple of exciting things happened this week! The first is that I found a house to live in so I will be moving in the near future! I'm very very excited to be on my own again, but have been so thankful to have rented out a family friend's basement so that I could live in the town I'm working in -- that is very important to me. The second thing is that I accepted a position as the Head High School Cheer & Dance Coach in the district I'm working in! I was a cheerleader all four years of high school & strongly considered going to college to cheer, but ended up choosing K-State (which was the perfect place for me & I'm so thankful I went there!) so I'm thrilled about this opportunity as well! I'm starting to hear the buzz about changes that may be coming considering basketball season, so I'm trying to remind myself to be thankful for whatever I get. This is definitely not how anyone expected this year to be & for the sake of the students (& my coworkers), I will try to remain positive. ;) Going to use this exciting news to take a walk down memory lane ... also known as my glory days.

Thank you for letting me brag on my old talents. Moving on now lol.

In case you missed it, this week I shared my monthly round up of my family's Amazon purchases, including this darling polka dot blouse that was a HUGE hit! Who would guess I'd find some of my favorite clothing pieces from there? Anyways, the post is super hodge podge full of all kinds of things -- you might even find a Christmas gift idea or two! You can read that post here.

outfits of the week...

For the past month or so I've started *trying* to consistently share my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I'm typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet.

Monday...

The comfiest outfit for a November Monday! I've had this grey plaid pumpkin tee since last fall & it's one of my favorites! Fits true to size & is super soft. My fringe cardigan is actually from the little girl's section at Old Navy lol. I got it in a large & typically wear a small or medium in women's (just for a size reference). Linen pants are my go-to when I want to be comfy! These ones are from Cotton On & aren't available anymore, but I'll link a similar pair here!

Tuesday...

I've also had this sweater since last fall. Don't ya love good basics that are "trendy" year after year? I know I do! This sweater is SOO soft & cozy that I honestly don't even change out of it when I get home after school. I’m a big fan of maroon colors because it goes well with my skin tone, plus I just really like it. I also love the pops of grey & white in this sweater. It definitely runs a bit oversize so keep that in mind when ordering! I just front tuck it so that it doesn't hang down too long. Untucked it works great for leggings!

Wednesday...

Okay I just got this chenille sweater from Target & immediately after I put it on I checked online to see what other color options they had. Y'all I know I say it all the time but HOLY SOFT!!! This is the dark charcoal color & it comes in a cream color & a light pink color as well. I've seen some reviews from other bloggers that say the cream almost looks dirty-ish because of how soft the material is. I'm wearing a medium here & would say it fits pretty true to size -- I like my sweaters to be a little oversized so that they'll cover my bottom if I choose to wear it with leggings. Only $25 for the softest sweater EVER!

Thursday...

At the middle school that I work at, on Thursdays we all wear something that is school colors or has our school's name on it just to support athletics (middle school typically has games on Thursdays) & show school spirit. If you dress up, you get a sucker at lunch. It's pretty cute & is a fun little tradition that I'm loving this year! I found this old denim button up jacket that has my school's logo on it & paired it with my favorite white t-shirt (sharing more about this below) & my favorite black jeans. Casual & comfy, but still participating in the dress up day!

friday favs...

It's probably too cold to be wearing this now, but I saw a coach wearing a skirt like this with her team's t-shirt during volleyball season & I thought it was the cutest idea. This skirt comes with built in shorts (that are more like spandex) which I was really thankful for. The waist band fits a bit oversized, but the rest was great! I should have sized down one.

Last Saturday I spent the afternoon with my mom & dad walking around Hobby Lobby & Target looking at all the cute thanksgiving + Christmas decor & getting some major inspo! I wanted to share the CUTEST little camel leather backpack ever!!! I love how casual it is & easy to use when I don't feel like wearing a purse -- perfect for days like Saturday! Plus, the inside material is darling. The best part? It's only $22 from Walmart!!

I don't have a direct link to the sweater in the picture below (but I of course have dupe link) but I still thought it was worth sharing because you can totally recreate this outfit by just using pieces from your own closet! Using a striped tank or t-shirt to layer underneath a plain + simple sweater is one of my favorite things to do -- especially when I'm wearing leggings, just to make sure I've got a little bit of extra booty coverage.

Another Target sweater! I just got this in & had to post about it ASAP because the colors are SO Thanksgiving aren't they?! The bottom stripe is a very deep rust / maroon, almost a brown. Obviously a lighter grey in the middle with a thin orange stripe dividing it in two, & then a deep tan color at the top. I'm wearing a size small & would say it fits true to size! The sleeves are straight so it's almost like a bell sleeve, but not quite. The material isn't the softest that I've ever felt, but it's definitely not itchy!

Y'all know I'm a big t-shirt girl. Whether it's a cute little graphic tee or one that's perfect for layering, I want it. Sharing a few of my current favorites below!

The retired cheerleader in me squealed when I saw this "be kind" megaphone t-shirt! This maroon comfort colors t-shirt is so comfortable & such good material & fits exactly like all of my other comfort colors t-shirts. & of course, "say it louder for the people in the back" is one of my favorite sayings lately.

The cutest little assorted pumpkins t-shirt ever! It fits a little small, but isn't see through at all. Fall is my absolute favorite season so of course I love all of the cute outfits that I get to wear for it. Also, my rust orange pants are corduroy skinny jeans -- how fun is that! I should have sized down in them so I ordered a new pair because I don't have any other pants that are this color, much less that are corduroy. Love this outfit paired together! Both the top & bottoms are from Target.

Okay here are those same orange corduroys but in a smaller size & they fit so much better so I would definitely recommend sizing down!! & how stinking cute is this Thanksgiving theme t-shirt?! Absolutely LOVE it! Super soft, not see through at all, fits small.

& here's another way to wear these orange corduroy pants in case you're not as much of a t-shirt girl as I am. ;) My all time favorite black sweater!

Another cute t-shirt from Target! This one is assorted cacti. I love the greenery & how easily it can be dressed up or down. Super soft & fits just a little bit small. Brownie points for you, Target!

Like I said earlier, fall is my favorite season so duh I had to get this t-shirt (it says: bonfires, flannels, s'mores, sweaters, campfires & pumpkins)! My girl Blaire is always hooking me up with custom orders. Also, this striped cardigan is amazing! Super thick & warm & also great quality! Because of the thickness, it does fit a little bit oversized.

Same cardigan, different t-shirt! Would you believe me if I told you this lightly worn tiger t-shirt is men's? Well believe me sister! It's super soft & feels like a t-shirt that you've owned for like 10 years. Fits just a tiny bit oversized but I like mine like that!

Lol this "coffee please" t-shirt pretty much just needs to be hung in my office at school because YES MA'AM! I thought it would be fun to show how easily you can dress down a graphic t-shirt, especially one like this one. Since it's an oatmeal colored shirt with brown writing, I chose to pair it with my favorite seamless leggings, a black cardigan & my leopard golden goose dupes! This t-shirt fits exactly like the assorted pumpkins & assorted cacti t-shirts I shared above.

I have finally found the PERFECT layering t-shirt! So beyond soft & not see through at all. Definitely fits oversized -- I sized down to an extra small & could've even gone with an extra extra small. It's just slightly distressed which I really like. I've worn this under everything almost every single day since I got it lol. Also, these leggings are a light grey snakeskin pattern & have a matching bra that I'm wearing in this picture as well. Details on those pieces coming soon!
