Feel Good Friday
Well folks, today is the day I take my CPCE (counselor preparation comprehensive examination) which I have to pass in order to graduate. The picture below is an accurate representation of how I've felt the past couple of months preparing for this exam lol.
what we've been up to...
This week I tried to cram in all of the information that I could for my exam. & I experimented on myself to see if alcoholic beverages help me retain the information better... or not lol. I also created a new twist on the classic grilled cheese + tomato soup meal. I think I like this one better. ;)
In case you missed it, this week my mom took over the blog for a day & shared a yummy little recipe! You can view it here.
friday favs...
This week I received a little surprise package from one of my absolute favorite Etsy shops, The Jewelry Standard, where I get a lot of my dainty gold jewelry! I'm sure you've seen me post about my initial necklace because it is one of my absolute favorite pieces & I literally wear it every single day. She sent me two new necklaces & I seriously could not wait to share them with y'all!
First up is this small stone necklace! This one is really sweet & kind of reminds me of Kendra Scott necklaces, but it's quite a bit smaller & has a different shape, plus the stone is more translucent. The color of stone is called mint & I got the 16 inch chain.
The second piece she sent me is this plain + simple mini gold coin necklace. She actually made this one specially for me because I had told her I was wanting something plain that would be perfect for layering, & she did just that! So, if you want this same necklace, you can use the link above, but just let her know in the messages that you'd like a plain gold coin like Simply Small Town & she'll know what to do. ;) This is the 17 inch chain.
I thought I would share all three of my necklaces from The Jewelry Standard layered together because this is how I see myself wearing them! Their simplicity makes it so that they're not too distracting & that is definitely my style when it comes to jewelry.
amazon blouses / sweaters...
I am completely & utterly in love with this top!!! It literally looks like a top you would buy at a nice boutique, but no, it’s an Amazon find! It definitely fits a little bit oversized so you could totally pull it off with leggings, but I typically wear jeans or pixie pants to school so that’s what I decided to show it with & front tuck it. The sleeves have a really nice cuff at the wrist so even though they’re a little bit long, they don’t fall off / down at all. The body of the shirt is a really nice oatmeal color of a waffle knit material. It is just so super cute & I absolutely love the floral detailing on the sheer sleeves. How can you not love this top?! The more I look at it, the more things I like about it lol.

Another blouse win from Amazon! How precious & feminine is this polka dot blouse? The quality is truly amazing & it fits so well (& true to size). The polka dotted material is very sheer, but the body of the blouse has lining so you don’t have to wear a cami underneath unless you want to. Cuffed sleeves plus a little bit of extra fabric at the shoulders give the sleeves a subtle poof / balloon effect that is really darling. I would say that the color is more of an ivory color than white (which is kind of how it looks in these pictures). Here I dressed it down with jeans & a pair of booties, but it obviously looks great with pixie / business pants & flats or even a blazer!

L-O-V-E LOVE this one!!! Okay so this is a mostly plain cream colored sweater until you notice the pattern on the sleeves — how cute! The pattern on the sleeves is almost like a flattened polka dot? Or like a thick dash? The sleeves have a bit of a balloon shape which draws more attention to them & is really cute & feminine. The neckline is a really subtle mock neck & really completes the shirt. A steal for less than $37! It definitely fits oversized.

How fun is this little colorful sweater?! It honestly looks like birthday cake ice cream or confetti lol so fun! The sweater’s main color is a really soft white or maybe even ivory with little speckles of color throughout. It’s a really nice knitted material & feels like great quality. There’s not supposed to be a line down the middle, that is from the suction-sealed bag & I didn’t feel like ironing this sweater quickly before trying it on (#instantgratification). Both the sleeves & the waistline have cuff so it fits really well & is pretty flattering. I can totally see myself wearing this with colored pixie pants & flats / sandals in the spring! Fits mostly true to size (a tiny tiny bit oversized) & is $26.

Y’all know me, I love my leopard — any colors of it! The base color of this sweater is hard to describe because it’s not quite brown, but it’s not quite burnt rust orange either — it’s a mix. & it looks super cute with the grey & black leopard accents. This sweater definitely fits oversized & is great to wear with leggings. The hemline, wrists, & neckline all have a thick black band which is cute. The neckline is a really super subtle v-neck that I barely even noticed because it’s not deep at all. Super soft material so I love lounging around the house in this or wearing it to work!
