Feel Good Friday
Happy Friday, my sweet friends! Unfortunately I was exposed to Covid this week & was put into quarantine on Thursday afternoon. Trying not to let myself feel too down about the things I'll be missing out on in the coming weekend / week.
what I've been up to this week...
First of all, happy National School Counselors Week to me & all of my other school counselor friends! It is truly humbling to feel appreciated & encouraged this week. What a gift!
I got to watch the final home games for my middle schooler's basketball season. It was also our eighth grade recognition night & let me tell ya something, I teared up HARDCORE!!! Like had to blink fast + hard to keep the tears from falling! It truly amazes me how deeply I care for these kiddos & how invested I've become in their lives in such a short amount of time. Since this is my first real job, this is also the first time that I will have a class move on & go to high school. I'm not sure if my heart can take it! This group of eighth graders are smart, witty, goofy, kind, polite, & just darn right fun to be around. Okay, starting to feel the tears prick up again so I'm moving on lol.
The weather was pretty dang nice this week considering it was the first week of February! On Wednesday, I had a mostly free evening (besides my hour & a half zoom class for my internship) & I took advantage of it by getting outside & loving on my body! Boy it felt good!
outfits of the week…
For the past month or so I’ve started *trying* to consistently share my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet.
Monday...
Monday was my middle school's eighth grade basketball players recognition night. Months ago, I had signed up to work the gate so that I could make sure that I could be there. Thankfully, we are able to have four spectators per participant & they have to be checked in somehow -- cue me! Because I haven't been able to watch my middle schoolers' games as much as I would've liked to this year, I'm reminded to never take things for granted. I woke up feeling fun so I tried a middle part & I can't decide what I think of it.

Tuesday...
On Tuesday I drove my cheerleaders to an away basketball game in the evening so I wore another sports team sweatshirt to school! One of the best parts of my job lol ;)

Wednesday...
Wednesday was the first day of the week that I got to wear something that wasn't school colors lol! I love how different & unique this top is! It’s from the Pink Lily Boutique. I’ve heard lots of great things about that boutique so I wanted to try out a couple different pieces to see what my true thoughts were about it. I will say that it is on the more expensive side — definitely not Walmart prices, which is kind of a bummer. BUT they are cute as all get out! A lot of the pieces looked pretty oversized to me so I went with a small for this one & I’m glad I did. I would say that for the most part it fits true to size, but does have a bit of a boxier fit. The material is very thick & soft & you can tell it’s good quality! I like this one for the Valentine’s Day season because it has little pops of other color throughout & the criss cross pattern sets it apart from other sweaters.

I'm absolutely on board with this new hair trend! So stinking easy + comfortable. This hair clip is super old, but here's an incredibly similar option from Amazon!
Thursday...
I was not at all prepared for all of the snow that started falling right when I got to school! My weather apps didn't mention anything about snow or I probably would've chosen a warmer outfit! Oh well, I love this thin black + white striped knitted sweater & have had it for about a year & it's held up great. I love pairing it with denim shorts in the spring because it's pretty light!

friday favs...
Painted my nails my favorite red for the Chiefs game + love month!
I love adding little bits of seasonal decorations to my house & Target always has what I'm lookin' for! How cute is this banner?
Sharing a few Amazon prime finds today & y'all, they're GOOD!!!
I saw this grey fuzzy tunic sweatshirt & knew I needed to try it. My literal ONLY complaint about this is that it was super staticky! Like even after I took it off, I was super staticky -- like my whole body. It's very soft & actually pretty thin so it's perfect for layering. It's a tunic fit so it's longer & definitely offers booty coverage. I'm wearing a small here & would say that it fits true to size, considering the tunic length. It comes in a few other color options as well!

I swear everyone & their dog has posted about this shacket lol it was out of stock for a really long time in my size, but when I saw that it was finally in stock, I ordered it as fast as I could! The outside fabric is very very soft, but the inside isn't the same material -- I wouldn't call it itchy necessarily, but it's definitely not quite as soft as the outside. I absolutely love this color scheme -- neutral + cozy! It definitely fits oversized & is legging friendly for me! I really like how it looks "dressed up" too.

I saw someone share this black grandpa cardigan buttoned up & tucked in & you better believe I ran to my computer to order it! HOW CUTE! I never would've thought to tuck it in like this! It has balloon sleeves & a bit of a baggier fit, but the length is true to size. The buttons are really pretty, but if you choose to style it like this, I would highly recommend wearing something underneath because there's only three buttons so it leaves some gaping holes lol. Pretty soft & comes in other colors!
Sharing a picture of it untucked here so you can see the size + shape.

This. Sweater. Is. EVERYTHING. How stinking darling, right?! I absolutely love the asymmetrical print, & it's the same way on the back. I just love how different it is! I got a size small & say that it fits just a little bit oversized -- the arms are a little bit long & so is the waist. Overall it fits really well though!

It's kind of hard to tell in my picture, but this grey sweater is two-toned. The top part of my chest & shoulders is just a slightly lighter color of grey than the rest -- it's not ombre though because there's a clear line of divide. This sweater is super soft, but is unfortunately on the pricier side of the things that I share, however, I think it's worth it because of the quality that you're getting out of it. This sweater fits true to size -- I'm wearing a small. It comes in a few other color options as well!

Some of you that follow along here are fellow educators, so I thought I would share some options of clothing that's cute to wear during the month of February! Dressing up for different themes / holidays has been one of my favorite parts of working in a school. I'm sharing a few different options below that I got this year to start my collection. The thing that's great about each of these pieces is that they're timeless & I'll be able to bring them out every year!
As I was looking for some Valentine's Day school shirts on Etsy, the majority of them where grade specific, for example: "first grade has my heart". As a school counselor, I don't have or teach a specific grade -- I work with all grades in the middle school. So when I found this one I was pumped! It's printed on a Bella Canvas t-shirt which is so incredibly soft + fits really well. You're able to choose what color of shirt + what color of writing you want & I thought this one was darling!

Here is another one that's pretty generalized but still oh so cute! A whole bunch of hearts make up an apple, which is kind of like the mascot of all teachers lol. Again, it's printed on a Bella Canvas t-shirt & you can choose the color.

Absolutely loving this super cute retro Valentine's t-shirt! Obviously this one isn't as geared towards teachers or school, but I still thought it was so cute & I had to share! Again, it's on a super soft Bella Canvas t-shirt & this is the "marble" color.

I've actually seen this sweatshirt shared a lot of other times by other bloggers & influencers. It comes in a whole bunch of other prints including some Christmas options which I'll have to keep in mind for next year. The inside is super soft & fits true to size. I thought the little red heart patches on the elbows were SO cute!! I love that this is a pretty casual option.

This long sleeve is so hideous it's cute lol! I cracked up when I first put it on because it truly looked like Valentine's Day threw up on me! I'm wearing a small & would say it fits a little bit oversized? The sleeves & body are just a little bit flowy, but both the hem line & the sleeves cuff so it doesn't look huge. It's super soft & surprisingly not see through at all! I added my favorite black puffer vest just to tone it down a little & I love it!

This cursive love sweatshirt is from Walmart & I really like it because it’s just a regular Gildan brand sweatshirt so I knew exactly how it would fit before I even got it. This one is a for sure classic that I’ll be able to wear every single year!

I was looking forward to a fun weekend including watching the Super Bowl + eating yummy food at my parent's house, but I'll unfortunately just be hanging out alone due to being in quarantine. Life stinks sometimes! Will you be watching the Super Bowl? I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
