what I've been up to...
On the bookshelf this week!
I got this little drawer organizer from Amazon during prime day deals. I love how it makes everything look so much more organized & easier to find everything under my sink.
I am really thankful that my admin takes care of all of the 504 stuff in my building, but for those of you that are in charge of them, this class looks fabulous! You can use my code SIMPLYSMALLTOWN for 25% off!
There was one morning this week before the humidity really set in from the rainy weather when it felt like fall in my backyard! It was a crisp 75 degrees & smelled like rain. I’ve had some leaves start falling as well which really added to the whole vibe. It was glorious!
outfits of the week...
During the school year I did a pretty good job at consistently sharing my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet. However, because it’s summertime, sometimes I don’t even get dressed lol so I’ll share as much as I can, but it’s definitely not as big of a priority for me like during the school year.

what Bethany is learning...
My sister, Bethany, is currently doing the Craving Community bible study with a group of friends. She is really learning a lot & is going to share a few things each week that really stood out to her!
1. If we want to maintain healthy relationships, we must seek to tame our jealous hearts. One of the days this last week was about "Resisting Comparison" and this is really prevalent in my life right now! There are a lot of people my age who are getting things that I have been praying for, and it's hard not to compare. One bigger thing that stood out to me was that I should be practicing gratitude FOR my friends when they are getting the things that I am still praying for.
2. Setting healthy boundaries protects us from creating idols in our lives -- things or people that we love more than we love God. There are a lot of different things in all of our lives that we probably don't think are idols that are. This day really taught me that anything I am going to before I go to the Lord is an idol.
3. When we put our friends in places they do not belong, we run the risk of disappointment from unmet expectations. Your friends can't and shouldn't be everything to you, God is the only one who can and should be. When we are placing everything on our friends, we are going to end up disappointed because they are not capable of having everything on them like God is.
in case you missed it...
As you may have seen, I started a new weekly post where I share my Weekly Sale Finds! I’ve been sharing them daily on my Instagram stories & I figured I could compile all of them from the week into one post so that y’all can see them, too! You can click here to read that post.
If you follow me on Instagram or LTK, then you’ve probably noticed that I have really stepped up my game when it comes to collages of sales, outfit inspos & new items. Well, that is all thanks to my younger sisters, Bethany & Avery. They’re “poor college students” & my mom & I were looking for some extra help on the blog, so it just made sense to bring them on board! We’ll be compiling all of the collages into one post each week so that they’re all in one place & to give those who don’t use social media a place to find them! Check out their post by clicking here!
Next up is my Friday fashion favs post!! Click here to read that one. It’s a goodie if I do say so myself. ;)
I recently purged my closets & posted about it on Instagram. I had a bunch of people asking if I’d be selling those clothes, so I created a private facebook group to share them! If you’d like to be added to the group, please send your name & email & I’ll get the link sent to ya! You can either comment below if you feel comfortable, or send me an email at simplysmalltownblog@gmail.com
