Perfect Night In

If I’m being completely honest, I would actually prefer a night in vs. a night out lol. I’m just such a homebody & like to chill & just hang out. I thought it would be so fun to share some of my favorite things that make for a perfect night in!

My chill time is either spent watching a movie / tv show or reading. Lately, I’ve been watching New Girl on Netflix — when Friends got taken off, I needed to find a new lighthearted tv show that would make me laugh! Also, I got a kindle paperwhite for Christmas & I would be lying if I said I wasn’t totally & completely obsessed with this new gadget! The last couple of years I’ve started to rediscover my love of reading, especially fiction. But let me tell ya, reading isn’t a cheap hobby! I loved the idea of holding a physical book in my hand so I was kind of nervous that I wasn’t going to like reading from a kindle, but I actually really do! One of the main things I noticed is that I easily got lost in it — in the stories & the characters. Also, I have baby hands & the kindle is way more comfortable & easy to hold than a physical book. Of course I had to get a cute case / cover because duh. & this one is SO STINKING CUTE!!! The kindle automatically "wakes up" when you open the front flap which is just kinda cool.

I feel like I have a pretty good hygiene routine down, but sometimes it takes awhile so I don’t do everything (like exfoliate or use self-tanner). When I have the extra time, like on weekends, I always do this!

I’ve pretty much always been obsessed with exfoliating my skin & wanting it to be as smooth as possible. & when I exfoliate, I want it to be so rough that I feel like I’ve lost at least one (maybe two) layers of skin by the time I’m done lol. I saw these exfoliating shower gloves when I was browsing on Amazon & fell into the trap & bought them. & holy stinkin’ cow am I glad I did!!! Y’all they are legit AMAZING! I got the “heavy” set, but they also have a lighter set that is less rough. You just get it wet, put some body wash on the glove, & wash yourself. They’re legit amazing!! My skin has seriously never been so soft! The first time I used them, I only did it on one of my legs & not the other just so I could see if I could tell a difference. Shaving was SO much easier & my lotion even went on better on the leg I had exfoliated! These are a super win for me!

I have naturally fairly tan skin, but when it loses its tan, my olive green undertones can really show through. To maintain an easy + subtle glow, I use Jergens Natural Glow moisturizer. I’ve been using this product since high school during my cheerleading days! It’s a go-to & has never let me down. It’s not streaky at all & you’re able to choose from a couple different shades so (if you’ve chosen the right one), you won’t be orange. I use the medium to tan moisturizer, but my sisters use the fair to medium shade & all three of us have loved our results. A few of the downfalls:

• You have to be sure to wash your hands really well shortly after applying the lotion because it can & WILL turn your hands orange & it can be difficult to get off after it has already set in.

• I wouldn’t necessarily say that the product smells bad, but I don’t think it smells wonderful either. I mean, it just smells like self-tan lotion & not like flowers or perfume.

• I’ve tried this product on my face because I don’t want my body to be tan & my face to be white. When I did this, my face did break out a bit which is to be expected since it is a product made for your body & not for your face. They do offer a facial tinted moisturizer, but I haven’t ever tried it.

All in all, this product isn’t perfect & does have a few flaws, but overall, it gives me a very natural glowing tan & is incredibly easy to apply, so I’ll keep using it until I find a product that does the exact same thing, but smells like perfume lol.

I don’t know that I’d consider myself to be a super “active” person, but my feet sure look like I am — sorry if that’s TMI. Like I’m not an avid hiker or runner, nor do I regularly walk around without shoes on outside. I struggle with dry & callused feet. I’ve tried all the lotions & scrubs, gotten pedicures & filers, but nothing seems to solve the problem. I had pretty much given up on my search for a product that would help me feet, until I found this foot peel mask. I’ll admit, I didn’t want to spend $29.99 on two foot masks, but I did it anyways. & holy stinkin’ cow am I glad I did! I FINALLY found something that works!! Now, in order to go from nasty old man feet to sweet & soft baby’s bottom feet, a purging process happens. The title of this foot mask is “Foot Peel Mask” & it is not playing around when it says that your feet will do exactly that … peel. Like crazy. Like I couldn’t wear sandals for about a week because I looked like I had a disease! It was absolutely insane! & it wasn’t just like my heels or calluses that were peeling, it was my entire foot like the bottom & sides that I didn’t think were even bad. So, all in all, the mask did exactly what I hoped it would — it gave me my feet back! But the process to get there, I will admit, was nasty. The old saying, “beauty is pain” doesn’t quite fit for these foot masks. Instead, it should be “beauty is literally actually truly the most disgusting thing ever & I don’t want anyone to know about this”. ;) I do these once every three to six months because if I have fresh skin all the time, I start to get blisters.

Also, I have my own little shellac machine so I love to make sure that my nails are done & fresh! All around I feel better & more myself when my nails are done. I’ve been that way since high school! I’ll link to my post all about the process & my favorite brands of polishes here!

& who doesn’t need some more comfy loungewear?! Part of the reason I look forward to free evenings or weekends at home is because I can be in these clothes all the time!

The first lounge outfit I’m going to share is my current fav! It’s so freakin’ darling & can be worn SO many different ways! Honestly, this outfit makes me feel like I belong to a country club lol I don’t know why. It’s so light & breezy & incredibly soft. The pieces don’t come together, so you do have to buy them separately. I’m wearing a medium in the top & a small in the bottoms. The bottoms are designed to fit a little bit bigger, so that’s why I sized down (& I would highly recommend doing that).

I also tried one of Walmart’s comfy sports bras & I’m in love with it, too! I love the support & coverage that it offers. It’s a normal bra style, so not racerback. It does have removable pads & comes in other colors! It’s a ribbed material & almost feels somewhat compression-y. I’m wearing a medium which is my regular bra size.

There is also a matching cardigan that goes with this outfit & of course I had to get it! It’s so cute!! I had actually been looking for one that I could wear around the house when I get a little chilly. This is perfect!

This is what the pants & cardigan look like paired with a tank. LOVE!!! I’m already planning to wear this during our next teacher work day — cute enough that it can be worn out in public & comfy enough that you’re super happy while wearing it!

Y’all know how much I absolutely love leopard print, so of course I want it on my loungewear, too!!! These pants are like a silky material & are SO light, airy, & comfy. I’m wearing a medium here, & they are definitely more of a legging fit than a jogger fit. There’s a tank top that’s recommended to go with them, but I personally don’t really like sleeping in or hanging out in tanks, so I didn’t buy it.

Would you believe me if I told you that this sweatshirt is actually men’s? Well believe it, sister!! I love how effortless & cozy this top is. The strings at the top are functional & they attach to a hood. It’s a really light & comfy material, kind of like the material of those beach fleece sweatshirts from Aerie — not super soft & honestly almost feel like a cozy little beach towel lol. I’m wearing a small & would say that it fits true to MEN’S sizing, so go with your normal size if you want it to be oversized, or size down one if you want it to be more fitted. It has great length & booty coverage either way!

If you’ve been around me recently, then you’d know that I’ve worn this quartersnap nonstop since I got it! I’m OBSESSED!!! I got a medium because I didn’t want it to be fitted around my hips — I love that it covers my bottom but isn’t too big or oversized. The deep pockets are really nice — my keys / phone have never fallen out. It’s sooo incredibly soft & cozy. It comes in a few other fun color options, but I thought this pink one was so cute & springy!

This top is actually part of a set as well (not sold together), but the shorts were out of stock so I decided the top on its own was cute enough, & it totally is! It’s a cropped fit, which fits normally on my short torso lol. I’m wearing a small & it’s pretty generous as far as the width. I like that it’s a thinner material so you won’t get too hot wearing it right now. I feel like it’s pretty subtle, too, which I also love. I paired it with my current favorite sweatshorts from Amazon. I wear these all. the. time! They’re like sweats material but in shorts form. They’re amazing!

Another super cute lounge set from Walmart! Again, these pieces aren’t sold together, but do make a matching set. I had heard that these shorts ran super small, so these are actually a large & I definitely don’t think they fit like one. They’re super stretchy so the fit doesn’t necessarily bother me or feel super tight, but just know that going in. I absolutely love the top & have actually worn it with jeans to school because it kind of looks like a sweater! These do come in other color options as well, but I went with the grey because I thought the orange might be too close to my skin tone.

This cute little pink tie-dye lounge set is actually what my Dad got my sisters & I for Valentine’s Day! My Dad usually gets us a little something — flowers, or some candy, or a nice card. But these are way better! This set comes together & I am wearing a small in both. The material is so stinkin’ soft & very light + thin so they are perfect for the spring & summer months. The shorts have little nonfunctional buttons on the front which makes the shorts look kind of like girl boxers which I think is cute!

This “workout” set totally reminds me of what gymshark clothes look like! That kind of mesh material that is really comfy while also being compression-y. I got this lilac purple set & think it’s so cute! The leggings are like kind of ombre which is really cool. The leggings & sportsbra are said to be seamless, which I would mostly agree with. I’m wearing a medium in the bra & it has great support & coverage — I love the high neckline! The leggings are currently on sale for $22.50!!

This little set doesn’t come together, but it was recommended on the website so I thought I’d try it! I love the leggings! They’re black & kind of acid wash, but they’re super subtle so they just look almost like faded. They’re high rise which I love & they’re very very soft & comfy. If I’m being honest, I don’t love this tunic sweatshirt. It’s super long (which I know makes sense because it’s a tunic, but it’s SO long on me). It has cute slits on the side which I like. I ended up keeping the leggings, but sending the tunic sweatshirt back.

My Mom got me this mustard Walmart crewneck for Christmas because she knew how much I was wanting it! SO comfy & great quality! It’s pretty thin but that makes it perfect for layering. This one is a small. I got a medium in the orange one that I got first because I wanted it to for sure be legging-friendly & cover my bottom. I tried on my mom’s small & realized that it still covers my booty & has some extra room in the torso so that's the size I'm going with from now on. Such a great staple piece for only $12! Comes in tons of other colors + patterns as well.
