Favorite Sweaters + Sweatshirts from Fall + Winter

The past couple of weeks the winter weather has been surprisingly pretty mild. Although I very much appreciate this when I take the middle schoolers outside after lunch, I'm the type of girl that likes the snow. We've had two good snowstorms here in Manhattan & my fingers are crossed for at least a couple more before spring approaches! My mom will probably flick me when she reads this. This is one area that we are polar opposites.

I put together this post featuring my favorite sweaters from this cozy season. The sweaters range from comfy to workwear. I hope you can find something here you like or even find a little inspiration to shop from your own closet!

comfy...

Ok this picture almost makes me sad because look at how green the grass was!!! Maybe I am ready for spring??

I love a basic black top & this oversized crewneck from Target is a favorite of mine. It has subtle slits on the side which seems to be really in this season. This crewneck is really versatile -- it can be worn with jeans or leggings & it looks cute either way. Here I wore it with my favorite brown birkenstocks & a camo hat. You can take the girl out of small town Kansas, but you can't take the Kansas small town out of the girl, am I right?

Going along with the camo theme from above, Bethany has gotten so much use out of this muted grey camo crewneck! She says it's casual enough to wear it with leggings but can also work with both blue jeans or black jeans. I like that it's colors are muted greys. This is a very subtle camo option if you're looking to slowly incorporate some into your wardrobe!

I've always loved the fall months because of the changing leaves & the crisp weather that comes with it. So when the fall months finally roll around, I get so excited to pull out my warmer clothes! This fall I found this soft grey casual turtle neck on Amazon & I had no idea how often I would wear it, but it has become one of my go-to & favorite pieces to grab. It looks great with leggings & with jeans. I love the little notches that lay in front of each hip because it just adds a little something different. The color I’m wearing is “light grey heather,” but they have seven other color options as well. I've even paired it with my packable olive green coat & my mustard floral hair scarf for a comfy/casual outfit.

Sherpas have been such a craze the last couple of years. I found this one that’s in the form of a mockneck sweater & love it! It’s actually very thin which I like because most of the other sherpas I’ve tried on are VERY toasty. I just think this sherpa is really cute & I love that it’s different from all of the other ones I’ve seen. It comes in six other color options & is less than $26. The zipper on the front is nonfunctional.

workwear...

I love a basic camel top because it can so easily be paired with different things. I'm also a huge fan of the ribbed shirts & sweaters this season. This top is a big favorite for me because it's long enough that it covers the booty & it has the two little notches in front of the hips that I love. I paired this top with black leggings, my favorite leopard mules & a black scarf in case I needed a little something extra to keep me cozy.

This is one of my favorite outfits for school because it's so pink & girly! I just love the colors maroon & ivory so when they come together in an outfit & I can wear my favorite shoes? I’m sold! These maroon pixie pants are everything & they look SO cute with this speckled ivory ribbed sweater from Old Navy. It has tiny little speckles of different colors in it which makes it such a versatile option because it can go with so many different colors of pants. I’m also wearing my newest jewelry find that is this peach stacked bracelet set from Amazon. It is SUCH a steal so you’ll have to make sure to check it out! If you see me in this outfit for a week straight, don’t judge… I’m just trying to adult.

Everything in this picture just screams fall (my favorite season)! From the rust orange color in the stripes in my sweater, to the changing leaves in the background. I love it! One of the things I love about stripes is that they spice up an outfit all on their own which makes putting an outfit together so easy. I love this soft & cozy sweater from American Eagle! The cream, dark grey & rust orange striped sweater goes great with black jeans & a pair of booties. This outfit has become a huge favorite of mine this past fall & keeps me warm in the winter time as well.

As I state above, I absolutely love a basic black top. I have a few thin ones so when I found this thick + soft one from Old Navy, I knew it was meant to be. It has really subtle side slits & looks really darling front tucked with a pair of jeans. I wear this sweater all the time & also have it in rust! I love that these mustard pixie pants match perfectly to the leopard hair scarf I got from them a few months ago. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find the hair scarf online so if you’re interested, you’ll have to look in-store.

Who doesn’t love a good poncho!? This basic black poncho from Target is quite possibly my most favorite & most worn piece of clothing & that I’ve added to my wardrobe this past fall. It’s very soft & just so darn warm & cozy. I get so many compliments when I wear this outfit to school! It is so cozy & warm & the perfect for these chilly days. In the pictures above I’m wearing camel booties & ivory tassel earrings. This poncho is a ‘one size fits all’ so it’s going to look a little bit different on everyone since we all have different body types.

I saw this oversized turtleneck on another blogger’s site & knew I had to try it out & it did not disappoint! I’m always looking for different outfits that I can pull off with leggings. This turtleneck is a perfect option for that because it’s oversized & loose so it covers my bottom really well, which I appreciate! I paired it with my mustard floral hair scarf & ivory tassel earrings to tie in my tan suede mules. Overall, a very comfortable & easy outfit to put together! It comes in fourteen other color options & is $33. It almost feels like a chenille fabric, but it’s not — it’s just that soft! I’ll definitely be buying more colors soon!
