Ever since I started dying my hair in 8th grade I've been hooked. I'm one of those people that loves a change & I'm not afraid to do drastic things to my hair. Bless my mom's heart. I've been platinum blonde to basically black, I once had a red streak for state basketball (school spirit to the max, right?) & you betcha I had those clip-in hair feathers! I've had straight across bangs, angled bangs, a bob & hair down to my mid-back. I even had a perm a couple years ago! I've toned it down in recent years & currently I'm back to my natural color which is dirty blonde with some almost redish hues (but I'm feeling the need for a change so we'll see how long this lasts ;) ).
My mom, sisters & I are each going to share some hair products, tools, & accessories that we love & that work best for our style of hair. Today is my turn so keep scrolling to see some of my favorite things.

I haven’t colored my hair since last April & my hair is back to my natural color which is a kind of dirty blonde color. I talked to my hair dresser about ways to prevent my hair from looking brassy (which I sometimes struggle with during the winter months because my hair doesn't get regular love from the sun) & she recommended this purple shampoo (right) by Redken. I bought a little sample packet & ended up loving it! I use this on my hair about once a week to once every two weeks (kind of just whenever I remember to be honest). This product gives your hair a little toning & would be great for any blondes out there! Ulta is having their shampoo & conditioner liter sale! It goes through the 25th & is free shipping on orders over $50! This is my favorite shampoo & conditioner (left) that I use regularly. It makes my hair SO soft & silky & I love it!
To keep up with attempting to make my hair as healthy as possible regardless of how much I style it, I use this Living Proof Restore Hair Mask Treatment once a week in the shower. This is one of my current favorites & it's very easy to use. I put it in after I shampoo & leave it on while I shave & wash my body. Rinse it out & your hair will feel wonderful.
I'm all about time efficiency & I've found that when I actually take the time to fix my hair, it saves me more time in the long run because I can usually get at least two, sometimes three, days out of it. To set myself up for success, I need a good product that will help tame my hair & not let it be too frizzy. This is where FAVE4HAIR smooth for sure blow out cream comes into play. This stuff is bomb. My hair has never felt softer & looked more shiny than when I use this product & then blow dry my hair with my blow dryer brush (which you'll see below). I apply a nickel-sized amount & work it through my towel-dried hair & then blow dry. Such an easy way to save time & energy & protect your hair all in one.
A couple of months ago, I was chatting with a friend in the comments section of one the blog posts on Facebook about how we love dry shampoo, but sometimes it feels like it leaves your hair with almost a grey-ish tint to it. I did some research & found that they've created dry shampoo specifically for brunettes. In hopes that the tinted powder wouldn't leave behind the grey residue, I decided to give it a try. First thought: it smells wonderful! While I feel like it still leaves behind a bit of grey-ish tint in my hair, it's definitely not as noticeable as regular dry shampoo. So if your hair color is the same or darker than mine & you're an avid dry shampoo user, I highly suggest throwing this in your cart the next time you're grabbing groceries.
Because I regularly use hot styling tools, I struggle with split, frayed or dry ends. To keep them healthy & strong as long as possible, I use this CAVIAR Anti-Aging Bond Repair ends serum. It instructs you to apply it before bed & shower it out the next morning, but I use it after I style my hair & leave it in until the next time I shower. It can't hurt anything to have some extra moisture there. Plus it smells so darn good that I don't want it to go away!
I'm a big fan of volume & texture & I don't have much of this especially on the days I wash my hair. I like it to have some grit. I did my sister's hair for winter formal once & used some of this Kristin Ess Dry Finish Working Texture Spray & she claims that I "dirtied her hair". It definitely feels like something's in your hair & that it's not squeaky clean, but I'm willing to sacrifice for the volume. You feel? After I'm finished styling my hair, I spray this all over, focusing on my roots. If I'm pleased with how it looks, I'll spray hairspray on & call it a day, but if I'm wanting even more volume I'll give it a couple of minutes & do a second layer. Go big or go home!
Also this year I found the holy grail of hairsprays. Kenra volume hairspray is the BEST STUFF EVER!!! I'll never use anything different. It holds my hair in place long term & that's something I appreciate. Plus it smells good. Ya can't go wrong.

I’m one of those people who doesn’t really like blowdrying my hair because it takes so long, I typically get pretty hot, & my hair is usually a frizzy afro when I finish. This hair dryer brush has been truly life changing! Avery got one for her birthday, I tried it once & immediately put it on my wish list. It cuts my blow dry time in half, I don’t get overheated because it only blows from certain angles, & because you brush it as you dry it, my final product is smooth & I’m able to leave the house just like that! This tool is wonderful & I use it almost every time after I shower.
The final product is even better when I use the FAVE4HAIR smooth for sure blow dryer cream!
Before my birthday, my only hair tools were my blow dryer & my straightener. I always used my straightener to curl my hair, which works pretty well, but I sometimes wish I could have tighter curls. My mom got me this 5 in 1 curling set & it has been so fun to play around with! It comes with two different wands & three different curling iron extensions, a heat-proof glove, & a travel bag.
I used the widest wand on Sunday morning & on Monday morning I woke up a little late for school & I was shocked to find out that the curls had stayed so well that I didn’t even need to touch up my hair at all! A little dry shampoo & I was out the door — a huge time saver.
I asked for a hair crimper for Christmas & my mom about fell over lol she was not on board. That was until we got on the same page. She was thinking of the hair crimpers from the 80s that left you with tight kinky waves. I was talking about the hair crimpers that have three big round barrels & leave you with kinky beach waves instead. We had a good laugh about it.
I've used this hair crimper way more than I originally thought I would. The waves that it leaves my hair with is pretty similar to my natural waves so I find that on the days I don't have much time, the hair crimper saves my life & leaves me with some spunky waves. I'm a fan!

I love adding more pop to my outfits by incorporating hair accessories. My favorite trend has been hair scarves & simple clips! I think they're so cute & feminine & allows you to really express your personality based on what you like.
I bought this floral + mustard bow hair scarf (far left) from Amazon that came in a pack of 18 for less than $20! This hair scarf is one I wear most often because it has olive green, navy & ivory flowers in it. It's a great transition piece because of the different colors! Here I paired it with a black tank & a pair of ivory tassel earrings. My exact earrings are from Elisabeth Ashlie, but they’re currently sold out. However, I found a similar pair for less than $14 on Amazon. & they carry thirty-one different colors!! The white + black polka dot hair scarf (middle) is part of the 18 pack also pictured in the middle. It's the cutest addition to a gameday outfit because it’s a neutral & it makes me feel a little sassy. 😉
I bought this cute leopard hair scarf (far right) from Old Navy because it’s two of my favorite things combined into one — a hair scarf + leopard!! I tried to find it online to have a link for you, but no luck so you’ll have to look in stores if you’re interested in this exact one. I did find this set on Amazon that is kind of similar. It’s a set of three leopard scrunchies & three leopard hair scarves for a pretty darn good price!
