Loving Leopard

When I was in middle school, I was slightly obsessed with animal prints -- specifically zebra. Okay, a little more than slightly... it was like the zebra exhibit from the zoo had upchucked in my bedroom. I had a zebra comforter, zebra pillow shams, zebra throw blankets, a zebra lamp, zebra picture frames, you name it. If it was zebra, I had it in my room.

Mom, why did you allow this?!

Thankfully, I grew out of that phase & I now cringe any time I see zebra patterns. However, there must still be a little bit of animal print love in my heart left to give because I can't get enough of leopard lately! I'm holding myself back as to not repeat my middle school years again.

accessories...

One of the easiest ways to incorporate a little bit of leopard into your life is through accessories.

Hair scarves have become a huge trend lately & what better way to incorporate some leopard than in the form of a hair scarf!

I got this from Old Navy & unfortunately, I can't find it online so if you're interested, you'll have to look in stores, sorry! I did find this leopard set on Amazon for less than $15. It comes with three scrunchies & three hair scarves.

I used to not be very big into wearing earrings, but that quickly changed when I had to start dressing up every day for my big girl job. RIP to rolling out of bed & wearing leggings & a sweatshirt every day. College wardrobe, I miss you dearly.

I came to the conclusion that changing up some statement earrings can make the same outfit feel very different. I wear a lot of one-color, plain & neutral clothes, so statement earrings really help me put an outfit together.

These earrings are from Target & are so versatile because their coloring is so soft & subtle. Plus, they're only $13! I'm pretty picky with earrings & these felt a little bit too heavy for me, but my sister Avery tried them on & said she was going to wear them every day lol. If you don't mind a little bit of weight & you're in the market for some great leopard earrings, these might be the ones for you!

This. Belt.

Avery chose to pair this belt with a pair of jeans, slip on shoes & a basic black long sleeve tee. Super casual & super cute at the same time! If you're wanting to go a bit dressier, try a pair of black booties & a black sweater or poncho & use the belt to show off your waist line!

shoes...

I bought these shoes towards the beginning of September & wore them basically every day for the entire month (because it was still like 90 degrees, hello Kansas). These shoes are the comfiest pair of sandals that I own -- even over my chacos, even over my tevas. It's truth.

I love that they're not too bold & they work really well with lots of different kinds of outfits. Above are three different examples of things I wore them with. They can be dressed up or dressed down. Even though it's just now starting to get colder, I thought I would share an overall great leopard sandal.

Another great pair of leopard shoes are these booties! They are their own little addition to an outfit & make my plain style not look as plain. Plus, they're booties so they're perfect for this fall weather!

This is one of my most favorite cardigans because it transitions really well from the warmer temperatures to the colder ones. I wore it with a black tank, jeans & sandals & now since it's colder, I'm wearing it with a black long sleeve tee & booties.

Here is my exact cardigan from Kohl's, it's sold out in all sizes except plus sizes. So here is one option from Amazon & here is another. Both come in a few other colors as well.

This leopard t-shirt had great reviews on Amazon, so we were excited to give it a shot! We want to make sure that we're always being honest about how we truly feel about what we're showing on here & the honest truth is that we really weren't big fans of this shirt. All of us tried it on & it looked best on Bethany, which in our opinion, still isn't great. The shirt says it runs small, but that wasn't our experience. We actually found it to be pretty boxy which is odd with the fabric which tends to be a little more clingy. Now, let me add, everyone else seems to be loving this shirt which also comes in 3/4 sleeve & long sleeve as well so maybe it's just this one? Or maybe it's just our short bodies? We did want to show it though because we know there are all kinds of body types & fashion interests reading here!

You guys, I LOVE this sweater! I just got it last week & I've already worn it twice & have gotten so many compliments. It's not too heavy which makes it great for this fall weather, but will work great with a vest or denim jacket over it in the winter months as well! The fit is great for me. I'm wearing a medium because I like things a little oversized & it's only $20 at Target which is awesome for such a trendy piece! I paired it with some black jeans & camel colored booties which works great for my job at the school, but would also work for a dinner out with friends.

These pants are a little bit out of my comfort zone! I felt like they draw a lot of attention to my legs (which I don't want) so I decided to send them back. They were pretty fun to strut around in though!

Since these leopard jeans speak for themselves, I decided to pair it with a black sweater & black booties to combat the action that was going on on the lower half of my body lol.

Okay this might be my favorite outfit from this whole post! We got this white & black leopard skirt from Amazon for less than $16. It comes in 21 different colors & styles. Avery paired it with a plain black tee & some black wedges. This whole outfit is from Amazon, people!!

A few things about the skirt... though it is DARLING, it had two flaws. One, it was quite see through. Maybe this wouldn't matter if you got it in a different color? Two, it was pretty staticky & clung to Avery's body. Like really clung. Like she bent over & when she stood back up, most of the skirt had found its way up her backside lol

Keeping these flaws in mind, this skirt was sooo darling & I think some other colors would work great!

I am now very much regretting the fact that my sisters & I did not get a picture together in our leopard outfits because I could've really called us the Cheetah Sistas.
