Priming Lately -- February

I've always loved Amazon prime, but it truly became my best friend this year. It's become my go-to because it's reliable, (most of the time) good quality, quick, easy to send back, etc. Before this year, I mostly used Amazon prime for buying textbooks or other random purchases. This year, I've really stepped it up & discovered that Amazon has just about everything I'll ever need. In case you're new to this whole Amazon prime thing, check out some of the items below that I've been priming lately.

tumbler with straw

I currently live a pretty on-the-go lifestyle & therefore I need some cups that are easy to grab & take with me. Also, I'm boujee & prefer straws lol (not the plastic kind, #savetheseaturtles). I like this one because you get to decide the size & it comes in TONS of different color options!

hair scrunchie/scarf set

If you've been around here long then you've most likely already seen me talk about this hair scarf set. It's less than $16 for 18 different hair scarves -- that's amazing! The actual hair scarf does untie & I've done that with a few of mine & tied them around a bag or purse just for another accessory. This is a great purchase!

I'm linking to a post here that I wrote all about hair accessories back in September!

facial tanning lotion

Screen-Shot-2020-02-23-at-6.50.58-PM.png

In last month's priming lately post, I talked about self-tanner. My skin is naturally very tan with olive undertones. In the winter months I can start to look a little green -- it's kind of a problem. I used to go to the tanning beds a couple times a month to keep the green away, but I realize now that that wasn't the safest & healthiest option for my skin. I now use this self-tanner & it's truly wonderful! It's very easy to apply & doesn't stain anything. You can instantly see a difference in your skin, but it also continues to develop over the course of ten minutes or so. I don't put it on my hands or face, so I can't say if it'll turn those areas an orange color or not, but it doesn't do that to my knees or elbows. I use this product a couple times a month in the winter. Since I don't put it on my face (because it's a product made for your body, not your face) I needed to get something specifically for my face so that I wouldn't look strange lol. I got this facial self-tanner by the same company & have loved it just as much as the body one.

pet car carrier

Since I live alone in Manhattan, I was lucky enough to get to bring my family's cat with me too. Whenever I go back home, Sophie of course gets to tag along. I always felt bad sticking her in the plastic pet taxi for our 1.5 hour car ride, & being the crazy cat lady that I am, I got her a nice alternative. Sophie LOVES looking outside & now thoroughly enjoys our car rides. She sits right next to me in the passenger seat & is super content. A few things that are awesome about this carrier is that it has lots of different openings with zippers so that your pet can come in or out however they prefer. It also has a latch on the inside which is perfect for making sure your pet stays in the carrier during your trip (in the beginning Sophie didn't understand this rule). The top strap is great for carrying your pet to the car & feels like a duffle bag honestly! This has been a well-used purchase for me this year.

Estee Lauder foundation

Sara here!

Last year I went to Ulta looking for a new foundation. One of the gals working there helped me & suggested this foundation. It's great for when you're wanting full coverage, but I definitely don't use this one every day. Instead of going back to the store, I just order it through Amazon because it's so easy & quick.

I would probably recommend going by an Ulta store the first time you buy it just so they can really help you find the perfect shade for you -- sometimes this is hard to do on your own or to guess when ordering online. But once you know, then Amazon is a great option when it's time to restock.

Kenra hairspray

Screen-Shot-2020-02-23-at-7.08.16-PM.png

Finding a holy grail hairspray has been a challenge for me for years, but I finally found it. This Kenra volume hairspray is the BEST STUFF EVER!!! I'll never use anything different. It holds my hair in place long term & that's something I appreciate. Plus it smells good. Ya can't go wrong.

My mom loves it, too! Here's what she had to say about it: My hair is naturally curly & that's not always awesome during the time of year when the humidity changes in Kansas are fast & furious. There's something about this hairspray that really makes the humidity a non-issue so I'm not constantly battling frizz. It holds the curls in place & has a nice, light scent. I know it's not just great for my hair type either because I often catch the girls stopping in my bathroom to finish off their hair with it as well. ;)

mesh sneakers

If you've been following along with us for awhile now then you've probably also seen me talk about these mesh sneakers before, but that's because they're so stinkin' good! They're comfortable & cute & are the shoes I didn't know I needed in my life. Working in a middle school, I'm on my feet a lot running around & doing different things so I need comfortable shoes. These sneakers are the perfect mix between tennis shoes & Steve Madden slip on shoes. They're light & breezy & all around just a wonderful shoe to have as an option. These shoes are less than $30 from Amazon & come in 33 different color options. They do run a little bit snug so I would suggest going up one size. These shoes are in "light grey".

camel ballet flats

Sara here!

My shoe size is a weird one -- I wear a 5.5 & most shoes start at 6 which is SO frustrating!! I heard that Amazon carries 5.5 so when I was looking for some camel flats, that's where I started. I'm really glad I did because I absolutely love these! They're honestly some of the most comfortable shoes I own, plus I think they're so cute!

striped shirt with elbow patches

Sara here!

I was looking for black + white striped shirt for layering under vests or sweaters & sweatshirts & I found this one. It's perfect for that! I like that it's a little bit longer so I can wear it with both jeans or leggings & the camel elbow patch is cute too.
