Trusty Rusty
My cousins on my Dad's side of the family owned a horse. It's name was Rusty because of his coat being a beautiful deep, dark orange color. When we were growing up & spending time at our grandparents' farm, much of our time was spent talking about, riding, or simply being around Rusty. He was so gentle & sweet & just an all around trustworthy & good horse. He was always there, waiting to see us, when the herd of cousins came running down the gravel drive. Because of this, we nicknamed him Trusty Rusty.
Rusty passed away, but I still think of him when I wear rust-colored clothing, which is very popular this fall. Rust clothing, just like Rusty the horse, is always there & is a great addition to your life. Keep reading to see some different ways of wearing rust this season & why it can be a great "trustworthy" piece for your wardrobe this fall.
I am all about the comfy/casual clothes! We saw this sweatshirt at Target & fell in love. This sweatshirt is SO soft on the inside! The back is longer than the front so it covers your booty when wearing leggings.
The color is a little bit more salmon than rust but it's a great piece nonetheless.
I paired it with jeans & some mesh sneakers, but it would look great with leggings as well.
**A normally proportioned person wouldn't have to roll the sleeves like I did. Short arm probs. Actually, just short people in general probs.
This long sleeve light sweater is SO soft, I didn't want to take it off! This shirt is a great purchase for the fall season because it's so versatile. It looks great on its own with a statement necklace & sandals. But it also looks great with a vest & some booties! This sweater is great for layering & will get a lot of use this fall.
My exact necklace is from Elisabeth Ashlie but I found this one for $12 on Amazon that's similar.

This outfit makes leggings look classy. Avery went for my favorite look combining the three c's: comfy, cute, casual. She's wearing leggings, black slip on shoes, with a soft long sleeve denim shirt & this long rust orange cardigan. To dress it up, swap the slip on shoes for booties & add these $8 dainty gold teardrop earrings from Target!
I'm not even 5 feet tall, & this cardigan made me grow at least a few inches! Because it's long, it naturally enhances the length of your legs as well. A keeper for sure!

My goal whenever I leave my house is to look cute without having to put in too much effort. Can anyone else relate?
This outfit is perfect for that! The frill neckline & the cuffed sleeves of this sweater give these jeans & flats just what they need.
Also, how cute is this bench?! In the summertime, my family spends a lot of time sitting on the front porch, enjoying each other's company & the warm weather. However, we never have enough seating for all of us. I found this design on pinterest, showed it to my Dad, & a few weeks later it was built! Be on the lookout for more posts about my Dad's projects & how we use them in our home.

Sometimes pairing colored jeans with a colored top can be tricky business, but when it involved two fall colors (rust orange & olive green) you can't go wrong!
This rust orange sweater looks great with these olive green jeans & camel cut out flats. These jeans are from Target, but they're no longer available. So here is a similar pair.
Avery is wearing these dainty gold teardrop earrings again.
