Feel Good Friday

Happy Friday, friends!

what I've been up to...

Last week on Thursday & Friday I went to a counseling conference in Manhattan which just so happens to be where my sister is going to college (at K-State), so I took her out for dinner & a treat! It was delicious, but the company was even better. ;)

For those of you who don’t know, this is my dad! I got to spend the day with him (+ the rest of my fam) this weekend to celebrate a day that is very near & dear to our hearts — the day he adopted me!! Saturday marked 24 years & I’m beyond thankful for every single one of them. He has given me unconditional love & encouragement. He is patient, slow to anger & always supportive. He’s shown me that love is a choice & what it truly means to be a Daddy’s girl. I am SO blessed to call him Dad!!

Earlier this year in the fall I was talking with a coworker about Christmas & birthday gifts. She said that she would rather have an “experience” than “something”. I thought about this conversation for a long time when I started doing my Christmas shopping. So, I decided to buy my family tickets to a K-State basketball game. I graduated from K-State, my brother went there for four years, one of my sisters is currently there, & my youngest sister is planning to go there, so we are a family that really loves K-State! While we ended up losing by (literally) one point, it was still super fun to spend the day with the people I love, cheering on a team I love, in an environment I love. Experiences are officially the best gift!

We got food at AJ’s Pizzeria before the game & it was so fun to see the restaurant packed with purple!

This is the book I’ve been reading this week! It’s on kindle unlimited.

I’ve been doing the Caroline Girvan EPIC beginner workouts on YouTube lately & I’ve really been liking them!

Does anybody else’s pet go directly to an unmade bed & claim it as their own? My cat does it all the time & then takes it super personally when I make her move so I can make the bed lol.

One of my coworkers gave me these beautiful flowers & my fav drink for being a huge part of her support system. This warmed my heart like none other!!!

I went to my parent’s house for dinner on Tuesday night & just wanted to show off my mom’s new dinnerware that my dad got her for Christmas! I love it!

outfits of the week…

For the past few months or so I’ve started *trying* to consistently share my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet.

Saturday…

OOTD for the KSU game! My t-shirt is super old from a store in Manhattan, so I’m not able to link it.

Sunday…

Really on board with the turtleneck & t-shirt trend, can ya tell? ;)

Monday...

Amazon sweater for the win!

I figured I could also start sharing some of my workout outfits! Here was Monday’s. I did it after school since I let myself sleep in a little bit. I always hate working out after school or in the evenings. Anyone else?

Tuesday...

Tuesday morning’s workout attire — arms!

& my outfit for work!

Wednesday...

Wednesday’s OOTD!

& this is what I wore after school to do some yoga & go for a walk! Love my liquid IV merch!

Thursday...

Woke up SUPER late & only had 20 minutes to get ready, so of course I grabbed my favorite counseling crewneck! I threw my hair up in a claw clip & called it good. Thank goodness for my satin pillowcases so I didn’t have to actually fix my hair!!

in case you missed it...

As you may have seen, I started a new weekly post where I share my Weekly Sale Finds! I’ve been sharing them daily on my Instagram stories & I figured I could compile all of them from the week into one post so that y’all can see them, too! You can click here to read that post.

friday favs...

I’ve been using this app called paceline for awhile now & I’ve really been loving it. Every week, it challenges you to get 150 exercise minutes (only tracks a max of 50 mins every day so you can’t do 150 mins on the last day) & it rewards you with a little gift card if you meet the goal. Most weeks I choose the $1 giftcard to Amazon — both of my parents do this too & we use it towards buying books for our kindle (we all share the books since we share an Amazon account). Some weeks it’ll bump you up to $5 so I’ve gotten a few of those to Target or Starbucks in the past. Even though it’s a small amount, it’s like free money for working out!! Say less. My referral code is SMALLTOWN & if you sign up under me, you’ll automatically get $5 when you complete your first week! I’ll link it all here, you’ll probably have to use your phone to sign up, just FYI!

My parents got my sister this darling bible carrier, journaling pens & a journal for Christmas. Everything is all in one place which makes it perfect for how she likes to take notes during church!

mini Walmart haul comin’ up!

How cute is this neutral set for a little one?! I can’t wait to see my cousin’s sweet little boy in it!

Y’all know how much I love peplum & babydoll style tops, so of course I had to try this one from Walmart! I’m also pretty much obsessed with this light lavender color this spring. I grabbed a medium & feel like it fits mostly true to size — it’s a little bit short & a little bit boxy. The material is pretty thin, but it’s not see through at all. It comes in a few other colors as well. This is the perfect little top for spring!

Next up is this cute little embroidered cardigan! It’s a cream color with the prettiest details in the flowers on the sides. I wore it buttoned-up like a shirt because I think the details speak for themselves. It’s a little bit sheer so you can kind of see the outline of my white bra underneath. I grabbed a medium & would say it fits true to size! It’s super soft & comes in black as well.

Surprisingly, I’ve actually had pretty good success with Walmart’s work pants. These ones are from a new brand, but I really like them! They’re a pull-on style so there’s no buttons or zippers. They feel like leggings, but I honestly don’t think they look like that at all. I got a size medium & would say they fit true to size. I’m not quite 5 feet tall, so I did have to roll them at the bottom once, but you can hardly tell. I’m a big fan of these! They come in two other color options, but it’s the same pattern. I wish they came in plain colors!!

Last up is this cute little matching lounge set! I LOVE this blue color & how stinkin’ soft these pieces are. They come together which is really nice. I got a medium in both & would say they fit true to size. It comes in some other colors, but I just love this blue & I think the little lightning bolt is super cute & different!

My sister’s school’s boys team is playing in the second round of substate basketball tonight so I’ll be going to watch them & hoping that they win!! If so, they’ll play again on Saturday & I’ll go watch them then as well. Other than that, I’m looking forward to a pretty chill weekend! Hoping to go get a pedicure at some point so that I can finally pull out my sandals for this spring weather!
