Feel Good Friday
Happy Friday, sweet people!
what I've been up to...
I keep a few pads of sticky notes on the table in my office for various reasons. A couple of my students like to doodle while we talk, or for others, we’ll use them for reminders in their planners to help organize & prioritize homework & to-do lists. While I was cleaning up after school yesterday, I noticed that they had some writing on them. My eyes filled with tears after reading them.
There’s no sugarcoating it, this past week was by far the most challenging & draining week of school that I have ever had. I felt mentally, physically, & emotionally drained. & I know I’m not the only one.
But kids pick up on everything & one of mine clearly noticed that even the school counselor needs to be told that things are going to get better.
So to the student who left me some anonymous encouraging notes in my office yesterday: thank you. & to the parents of this student: you’re raising a good one.
Thankful for Mexican-themed potluck lunches while we have meetings!
My school closed down due to Covid issues, so we have no school Thursday, Friday, or Monday. I’m thankful for the break & praying that we all come back healthy!
outfits of the week…
For the past few months or so I’ve started *trying* to consistently share my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet.
Friday…
OOTD for high school game day!
Saturday & Sunday…
Both of my weekend days were spent laying in bed sick… ugh!
Monday...
We didn’t have school on Monday, but we had in-service / work day scheduled. I still was not feeling well so I attended the meetings that I needed to & then went home for the rest of the day.
Tuesday...
Cozy little outfit for Tuesday! My current fav sweater is still on sale for $20!
Wednesday...
Cozy little outfit for Wednesday! My dress, cardigan, & booties are all from Target! The only piece still available is the cardigan, but you know I’m linking similar options below. :)
Thursday...
Thursday I hung out in my pjs & relaxed so no OOTD pic!
in case you missed it...
On Monday I shared my monthly Amazon Prime Finds post. I shared all of my finds from the month of November & in a couple of weeks I’ll share from the month of December. My family shares an Amazon account so you never know what’s going to be purchased! Click here to check it out.
As you may have seen, I started a new weekly post where I share my Weekly Sale Finds! I’ve been sharing them daily on my Instagram stories & I figured I could compile all of them from the week into one post so that y’all can see them, too! You can click here to read that post.
friday favs...
My first day of school dress from Walmart is back in stock! Such great quality & so dang flattering!!!
My sister just bought these cute booties from Target & is loving them in the snow!
One of my favorite mug sets from Walmart was restocked this week!
Y’all know how much I love having little seasonal accessories to go with my outfits for school! So I’m so excited to be partnering with Hanmade Goods for her January launch full of darling Valentine’s Day goodies!!
These Valentine’s Day gift boxes would be a perfect idea to send to a sister, a bestie, a coworker, etc! They are open for preorder & will arrive by Valentine’s Day!!
You can use my code (SMALLTOWN20) to get 20% off anything in her shop (minus the gift boxes)! I’ll share the link to her shop here!
I snagged this plus size sweater from Walmart because sometimes they’re actually not that oversized. This one definitely is though! It’s actually pretty thin which is kind of nice. I like this color pattern, but there are some other ones available!
I’ve seen this tunic shared by tons of different bloggers & influencers over the past couple of weeks & I totally see why!! It is SO comfy & flattering! It has really subtle side slits & the cowl neck lays really nicely. I grabbed a medium in this tan color & it fits true to size. This is a great layering piece for vests or shackets because it’s kind of thin, but it will transition great into the spring season too!
I love finding ways to be comfy while dressing up for work. This frill crewneck from Walmart is too cute! I grabbed a medium & I feel like it fits mostly true to size, maybe just a little bit short in length. It feels like pretty good quality & it comes in other color options too!
I feel like I say this every single time I change the decor in my house, but I just really love decorating it for the different seasons!! How stinkin’ cute is this super simple Valentine’s Day decor from Target? Target has my heart when it comes to clothes, home decor, all of it. I love swapping out throw pillows, blankets, & a couple of wall hangings here & there to totally change the whole room. I love all of this so much!!
I recently found this darling jewelry company that is owned by two best friends & y’all… their pieces are so beautiful & such fantastic quality! They are being so generous & have given me a discount code for y’all that will go live today (Friday) at noon & will end this Sunday at midnight!! My code is SMALLTOWN10 for 10% off!!!
I’m going to share some of my favorite pieces with y’all, including their Valentine’s Day collection that launches today!
This first one is called the Nadia Necklace. I love that it kind of looks like an upside down rainbow or sunrise / sunset. & of course, gold is my fav! This necklace is subtle enough that it’s kind of like a simple statement piece.
Next up are these gold bar posts — I love them because they’re so simple & I can wear them with everything! & this ear cuff is so fun because it looks like I have another piercing when I don’t!
I also got these stackable rings & I’m obsessed with them!!! So simple & dainty, but also super pretty. The thicker band is called the blossom ring & the thinner one is the braided ring.
& now here is their Valentine’s Day collection! These super thin & simple heart hoops are SO cute & lightweight! I’m also wearing the same ear cuff that I shared earlier.
Here is a close up of the xoxo necklace I’m wearing in the picture above!
& last but certainly not least are these super simple heart studs. I love studs like these because you can wear them with anything because they’re so subtle!
