Feel Good Friday

Happy Thanksgiving week to all of you wonderful people!!

what I've been up to...

Last week on Friday my school went on a field trip to Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve. The time spent outside hiking & chatting with students & enjoying the beautiful views was the perfect send off into Thanksgiving break!

#tirededucatorselfie lol so very thankful my district decided to give us the entire week off for Thanksgiving break!!

My sisters came to my house & we spent the day doing something super exciting for the blog!!! You’ll find out soon, but in the mean time, here’s a selfie of me with my favorite girls!

Bethany spent the night at my house & we had bagels & hot tea for breakfast the next morning. We are two peas in EXACT SAME pod!

I enjoyed a cozy Thanksgiving day with the people who mean the most to me — my family!

& of course we got into our comfies immediately after our guests left!

outfits of the week…

For the past few months or so I’ve started *trying* to consistently share my OOTD (outfit of the day) just for fun! I’m typically able to link most pieces, but I also just share it to hopefully give a bit of inspiration & show you that you can recreate my outfits by just using pieces from your own closet.

Friday…

Like I said earlier, on Friday we went on a field trip & I totally forgot to document my hiking outfit before I left my house!

Saturday…

I got my Covid booster shot on Friday after school & felt pretty crummy on Saturday so I didn’t take an OOTD picture that day either.

Sunday…

I felt much better on Sunday! I decided to dress comfy & cozy & rep the Chiefs. Yay for a win!

Monday...

Totally forgot to take an OOTD on Monday, too! I’m honestly not even mad about it because it means I was being super present with the people I was with & there’s nothing better than that.

Tuesday...

Finally remembered to take an OOTD picture & a bonus is that my sister is in it with me!

Wednesday...

Cozy OOTD for spending the day at home prepping for the festivities this week, plus day three hair, don’t care!

Thursday...

Happy Thanksgiving, sweet friends!!

friday favs...

It’s finally sweater weather yay!!! Check out my giveaway of this crewneck with SuperFreshDesign over on my Instagram.

& since now it’s time to fully transition to everything Christmas, I’ve got a great little Black Friday / Cyber Monday sale for ya! CarpeDiemTShirts is offering a couple of discounts that are worth sharing, especially because she’s got darling options like this “merry everything” crewneck! CYBER25 will give you a discount on any hoodie or sweatshirt from her shop & is good through midnight on Cyber Monday. SMALLTOWN15 is good for her whole shop through Christmas! But just a heads up, if you’re wanting some darling Christmas gear like mine, the cutoff date for Christmas delivery is December 8th! Happy shopping!!

I recently grabbed THE CUTEST ceramic house + tree set from Target & I’m straight up obsessed. My mom snagged one for herself too when she saw how cute it is! There are a few different color / theme options, but I liked this classic neutral with green trees. It comes with two “tall” trees, four mini trees, & four ceramic houses. I absolutely love it!!!

If you’ve been around her for awhile, then I’m sure you’ve seen me share about liquid i.v. before but that’s because I love it so dang much!!! They sent me one of their new flavors to try — caramel apple — & said it’s good both hot or cold! I can’t wait to try it. But in the mean time, I’m stocking up on all of my other favorite flavors (lemon lime, pina colada, tangerine) because they upped my discount code (SIMPLYSMALLTOWNBLOG) to 30% off through 11/30!!! Woot woot!! Click here to have my code directly applied.

Y’all know how much I love my comfy & cozy loungewear & boy have I got the most perfect set to share today!! There’s truly no better feeling than finding a pair of leggings & a sports bra that fits like a glove. I’ve known of ThirdLove for years — one of my all time favorite bras is from there — so when they reached out for a collaboration, it was a no brainer for me. I’m super pleased with the quality, material, & fit of this particular lounge set & have already been eyeing the other color options! In case you’re interested too, I’ve got ya covered. You can use code HOLIDAY20 to get 20% off your first purchase, or click here to have the code automatically applied.

Earlier this week I shared a collaboration post I did with Walmart & figured I could share it again here in case you missed it!

The holidays as an “adult” can sometimes feel kind of overwhelming to me, like getting gifts for everyone as well as keeping up with my own things. That’s why I love Walmart — I can get everything I need for the holidays in one order! Keep scrolling to see some of my purchases for the holidays.

beauty...

I have a deep love for drugstore beauty products. I don’t like breaking the bank to take care of my skin & hair, but I also want good quality products that I love. Most of these products I’ve used for YEARS & keep coming back for more!

These pimple patches have become my absolute BFF! They’re much more gentle on my skin than my fingers would be which I really appreciate. Just stick them on a pimple, go to bed, & voila!

I’ve actually never tried this lip mask, but I’ve heard great things. It comes in a pack of four for $17. I dropped a little hint to my mom that they’d be a great stocking stuffer for my sisters & I. ;)

I’m a HUGE fan of exfoliating & this gentle peeling solution has been really great for my skin over time. It kind of looks like you’re smearing blood on your face, but the baby soft skin afterward is worth it!

I use this micellar water cleanser every night after my other cleanser just to make sure I’m getting every little bit of dirt & makeup off my face, & it’s one of two products that I use in the morning!

I also use this toner every morning & night!

Over the past year or two, I’ve been really training my hair so that I don’t have to wash it as often. I’ve tried tons of different dry shampoos & this is the one I always come back to. I use quite a bit of the product, so I appreciate that it’s super affordable! & the brunette spray helps to leave not as much of a grey dust over your hair.

This hairspray is a more recent find, but it’s been my fav for the past couple of months! It smells great & holds my hair super well. My mom doesn’t love it, but for $4 it’s worth a try in my opinion!!

home...

After college I never replaced my dish sets. I’ve been using hand-me-down dishes from my grandma for years! They’re great quality, but I thought it was time to get some dishes of my own that fit my style a bit more. I found these matching sets from Walmart & was smitten! HOW STINKING CUTE!!!!! They have plates as well as pans in these patterns too, but they were out of stock in my area so I’m keeping my eye on them until I can snag them. All of these are microwave & dishwasher safe!

How gorgeous are these bowls?! Super deep & great quality.

I’m absolutely in love with these mug sets!!! The neutral colors + gold handle is just so darn cute. They look darling in my kitchen with my glass cabinets!

clothing...

If this velvet dress isn’t the most perfect dress for the holidays, then I don’t know what is!!! Absolutely love! I’m wearing a small & it fits a bit oversized — overall I feel like the length is accurate but it’s a bit wide & the sleeves are long. It comes in other color options, but I absolutely love this red with black heels.

I decided to grab this simple red turtleneck sweater because the color is perfect for the holidays, but it can also be a timeless piece & be worn all fall / winter long. I got a small & it fits fairly true to size, might be a little wide. It works perfectly for front tucking!

& last but not least is this darling Christmas tree sweater! I love wearing seasonal pieces to school & this sweater is absolutely perfect. It’s incredibly soft & I love that there’s one green sequin tree at the top. Such a cute little accent! Also, it fits true to size.

I truly appreciate all of your support so much! You are the reason I get to do collaborations like this!! Super thankful for this community & how we encourage one another. Which piece is your favorite?
