12 things we're loving: October

As the seasons change, so do the things that we're loving -- beauty products, clothing items, devices, etc. In the summer time, I love a good oil-free lotion because I don't want to get too greasy & I'm probably going to sweat it off anyway. However, in the winter time, my skin is typically more dry so having oil-free lotion isn't as big of a deal for me. So we asked ourselves, "what are three things that you're currently loving?" Below are our answers for this month.

Sara's loves...

  1. grey & white striped pajama set from Amazon. You guys, I love pajamas. I typically put them on the second I know I don't have anywhere else to go. Just ask my kids or their friends, ha! I'm loving this pair from amazon because they aren't too heavy, they fit really well & they don't embarrass the girls when they have friends over.

  2. coffee cup warmer. I start every day with a cup of coffee & usually have a cup of sleepy time tea mid-afternoon as well. My coffee cup warmer was a Christmas gift from my kids last year & if we're being honest they bought it more as a gift for themselves. Let me explain... when you heat something up in our microwave, once it's done it beeps LOUDLY every few seconds until you take it out. I was notorious for putting my cup in & walking away. Apparently, my family found that beeping noise pretty annoying. Now that I have this warmer, I'm spoiled & I love it! It keeps my cup warm all the way through & I no longer have to take the 25 step walk from my office to the microwave when I don't drink it fast enough, ha!

  3. Kenra hairspray. My hair is naturally curly & that's not always awesome this time of year when the humidity changes in Kansas are fast & furious. There is something about this hairspray that really makes the humidity a non-issue so I'm not battling frizz. It holds the curls in place & has a nice, light scent. I know it's not just great for my hair type either because I often catch the girls stopping in my bathroom to finish off their hair with it as well.

Alli's loves...

  1. mascara primer. I had never heard of eyelash primer until a couple of months ago. I decided to buy this drugstore brand & boy was I surprised at the difference it made! My eyelashes feel so much stronger & they hardly ever fall out or bend in wonky ways. I also feel like my mascara stays on longer when I use primer. FYI - when you put it on, it does make your eyelashes white which looks kind of weird. I usually give it 2-3 minutes to dry & then start applying my mascara.

  2. electric hot pad. I am always so cold, especially in my school. When I'm cold, I tend to get really stiff & tense which in turn causes me tension migraines. I've been keeping this hot pad on my office chair & it has made such a difference! I'll walk into my room & a colleague will be sitting in it enjoying the warmth & getting a little cozy. This is the exact one that I have & I like it because it has three different levels of heat.

  3. Peter Thomas Roth hydrating moisturizer. Ok this moisturizer is pretty expensive & I'm not usually willing to do that, however, I got a sample of this one time & I've refused to use any other moisturizer since! It contains hyaluronic acid (sounds scary but no worries) & basically what it does is it takes moisture from the air & continues to moisturize your face throughout the day. Now, I have very oily skin so I was very skeptical & thought this wouldn't work for me. To my surprise, it doesn't make me oily at all! It is very thin & leaves my face feeling SO soft. I am the biggest fan of this stuff & for me, it is so worth the splurge.

  1. Amazon leggings. These leggings are SO soft & comfortable & they fit great! They don't get baggy at the knees or ankles, which is something I find very annoying. Another plus is that they're not see-through at all! I also really like where they fit on my waist.

  2. Dr. Teal's Relax & Relief Epsom Salt. I'm a dancer & I love taking a hot bath when I get home after long classes or honestly whenever I have time lol. Epsom salt is my favorite product to help soothe sore muscles. Now they're infusing them with essential oils which makes it smell incredible & helps to reduce stress. What could be better?

  3. Salted Caramel Mocha Frappuccino. This is a seasonal drink from Starbucks that pretty much speaks for itself. It has just a hint of coffee that isn't too strong but enough that you can still taste it. My absolute favorite part is at the end when the salt, caramel & whipped cream all mix together. It's delicious & I look forward to it coming back every fall!

Avery's loves...

  1. Murad Essential-C Facial Cleanser. I have struggled with normal teenage acne & this product has worked so well without drying out my skin or irritating it. It's a little pricier but it's so worth the splurge to me!

  2. Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizer Hot Air Brush. This thing is amazing! My hair has just a little wave to it & I deal with quite a bit of frizz. This blow dryer brush works fast & is perfect to use when I'm going to straighten or curl my hair. It really helps eliminate the frizz & makes the next step of styling go so much faster.

  3. Native shoes. I really like these shoes because they're comfortable & light & airy. They're easy to throw on right after practice but I also enjoy wearing them all day with or without socks. They're a much more tighter fit & stay on a lot easier than crocs do which makes them easier to be active in. They're hand washable & don't stink at all! My specific pair is sold out but here is their website if you're interested in others.
