& the spirit award goes to... you!
With football season in full swing & basketball season just around the corner, we thought it would be fun to do a post on game day attire! We're all about comfort in the Rice House so all of these options are very much that. My hometown's mascot is the wildcats & so is K-State's so you'll be seeing that theme frequently throughout this post. We love showing off our school spirit, whether it's for our hometown or for our favorite college (EMAW am I right?), below are some great options!
retired cheerleader vibes...
The two outfits below give my retired high school cheerleader heart some flutters because it features a cute skirt + some frill! These outfits may be perfect for you if you're also a retired cheerleader & will always have that school spirit in your heart.
Of course I had to start off with a K-State shirt because I'm fresh out of college & I've got a lot of love for my alma mater. This darling outfit is so comfortable & yet looks so put together at the same time! Avery is wearing this black above the knee skirt with a K-State tee that she knotted. This picture doesn't show it, but this skirt has a functional drawstring tie at the waist.
I got this t-shirt years ago from a small store in Manhattan that's no longer open. Here is a similar one -- it's prime & comes in a bunch of different color options as does the skirt! Avery paired this outfit with white converse which really makes Willie Wildcat pop. A jean jacket would look great with this as the weather gets cooler! This outfit is a little bit dressier compared to the others we have below.

Next up is a pair of jeans that give me all the heart eyes. How cute! I don't think there's a more perfect pair of jeans for a game day outfit. Avery went with a simple Wildcats tee & Steve Madden slip on shoes to let the jeans get the attention they deserve. The cinched waist & the frill above the belt loops is just a darn good look + they're really flattering! Well done Target, well done.

jeans + a tee kind of girl...
Jeans & a t-shirt is always an easy go-to outfit. But sometimes I feel like I repeat the same combination over & over & over again. Below are a few different options to help you mix it up a bit!
My closet is full of stripes. Like FULL. It's a bit of a problem. I just feel like they go with anything & I'm just always drawn to them!
I got this striped hooded open cardigan from Loft in an outlet mall this summer when we were in Colorado. Unfortunately, they no longer carry it in black and white, but they do still have it in an orange & white color if you're interested. I did, however, find a few great black & white striped cardigan options from Amazon.
Cardigan #1 has lots of great color options & I love the thicker white stripes. Cardigan #2 has more of a black base color. Cardigan #3 is pretty similar to mine as far as the stripe pattern, however, it is much longer. Cardigan #4 is probably the nicest out of all of them, but I love the elbow patches!
This is an outfit I wear on Fridays at my school because it's pretty casual, but isn't like I just rolled out of bed & now I'm here. I am wearing my go-to Steve Madden slip on shoes.

Nothing says game day better than a t-shirt that literally says "game day" on it lol. I got this neutral grey t-shirt from a boutique years ago & have gotten SO much use out of it. It's neutral so you can wear it with any color & you can also wear it for any sport!
I found a very similar t-shirt in case you're interested & am linking it here. It has 5 different color choices & even comes in mens & kids sizes as well!
I usually pair this t-shirt with a flannel that matches the colors of the team I'm cheering for. Here is a great option from Amazon that's only $20 & comes in 15 different color choices!
As the weather starts to get colder, this will be a great option because of the different layering pieces! Avery is wearing a striped t-shirt underneath an M (for Moundridge) sweatshirt & vest, with jeans & Steve Madden slip on shoes. I love the stripes (duh) underneath the sweatshirt because it just adds a little something to the outfit.
Ok let's talk about this vest for a second. Who knew that a vet could be flattering? Not me, that's for sure! I'm sure thankful that I found this one from Amazon. It tapers in at the back giving the illusion that you still have a figure even though you're wearing a sweatshirt! This vest comes in six colors & after seeing how great this one fit, we ordered more!

from the couch to the bleachers...
Next up is another comfy outfit featuring more of my favorite thing -- stripes!! Bethany's wearing a Moundridge tee with leggings, Steve Madden slip on shoes & a white & grey long sleeve striped shirt tied around her waist. This long sleeve is SO soft. Once you touch it, you'll never want to take it off + it's only $15! This is a great layering outfit as the long sleeve looks cute tied around your waist & it's easy to throw over your t-shirt if you get chilly.

Last is my current favorite pair of close-toed shoes. These mesh sneakers go great with about anything!! They look great with shorts, jeans, or leggings. They come in 33 different colors & styles & they're less than $30! They are a little bit small so I would suggest sizing up. I love to wear these on walks, to school, to games, etc. The holes on the top allow for a little bit of breathing, but they're not too airy. These shoes even come with a pair of no show socks! Another bonus of these shoes is that they're machine washable. Overall, they are very versatile & for me, they were a really great purchase.
