A Staple Piece: Striped Turtleneck

One of the best things you can do for your wardrobe & wallet is purchase a couple pieces of clothing that you can wear many different ways. This is a great idea for a couple of reasons: 1) it saves you space in your closet & 2) it saves you money in your wallet because you're not buying clothes all the time! One of my favorite staple pieces for this fall is my black & white striped turtleneck.

C'mon guys, y'all had to know this was going to be coming. Your girl loves her some stripes! Keep reading to see four different outfits all featuring the same black & white striped turtleneck that's less than $16 & comes in 16 other color combinations.

This first outfit is one of my absolute favorites & I think Avery looks so darling in it! It's feminine & cute & so easy to throw together. This black corduroy dress is perfect for this fall season. Since her legs are exposed, Avery chose to have this chunky yellow cardigan around her just in case it gets chilly. We also paired some above-ankle socks with these booties which is such a fun fall trend.

Who doesn't love a good poncho!? This basic black poncho from Target is quite possibly my most favorite piece of clothing that I've added to my wardrobe this fall. It's very soft & just so darn warm & cozy.

When I was in middle school, ponchos were kind of a big deal. My cousin & I had matching ones & boy did I feel like Lizzie McGuire when I wore it, which back then felt like a huge achievement lol this is what I pictured myself looking like when I was strutting down the middle school hallways thinkin' I was such hot stuff haha

All I have to say is hashtag goals. Am I right?

I got so many compliments when I wore this outfit to school! It is so cozy & warm & the perfect for these chilly days. In the pictures above I'm wearing camel booties & ivory tassel earrings, but here I paired it with black booties & it looks great both ways. That's the beauty of this turtleneck & basic black poncho.

This poncho is a 'one size fits all' so it's going to look a little bit different on everyone since we all have different body types. :)

Another simple outfit idea is to simply pair a colored cardigan with this striped turtleneck. It could be easily dressed up by swapping the jeans out for a pair of pixie pants & some flats instead of booties.

Last up is another poncho outfit! This ivory/cream turtleneck, also from Target, looks great over stripes & the green jeans are such a fun pop of color. This outfit is effortless & has all of the colors of fall which makes my fall-season-loving-heart pretty darn happy.

We felt like this 'one size fits all' poncho was a little bit too big on us so it would probably work better on someone that's taller than 5'2"!

I love finding new uses for this turtleneck like adding it under a short sleeve jumpsuit! For some reason, this jumpsuit looks very orange in pictures compared to how it actually looks in person. I feel like I look like an inmate in this outfit lol oops.

I've been very skeptical about paper-bag pants, always saying they wouldn't look good on me because I have such a short torso & legs. Just for the fun of it I tried this pair on at WalMart & I was shocked. They are so soft & comfortable & honestly felt like I was wearing a comfy pair of pants. The wide leg is so fun & is such a different look than my typical pixie pants or jeans. The turtleneck works great with these pants because it's fitting which helps you not look like a plastic bag. Plus, these pants are only $17 from WalMart. Score!
