Prime Finds from September
Here you go! It's our monthly post of ALL THE THINGS our family ordered from Amazon during the previous month. Creating this post always cracks me up because we order some super interesting stuff! Have a little scroll & you just might find that thing you didn't even know you needed lol!
striped sweater
Loving all the colors lately! This colorful striped sweater is great. It’s very long so it could be worn with leggings, but the main darker stripe is navy. I've worn it with both dark & light wash jeans & I think it looks great with both. Super cozy & I love how versatile it is! Click here to see how I styled it.
kenra hairspray
Wait! Wasn't this hairpray on the list last month too? Apparently someone else in my family was running low. It is a must!! If you've never tried it, you should. Here is my write up from last month....
I absolutely always finish off my hair with Kenra hairspray. This works perfect for me! It doesn’t dry out my hair or make it crispy, plus it blocks the humidity which is important for me to avoid frizz.
leggings
My sister, Bethany had leggings on her birthday list, so my mom got her these in all three colors below. Personally, I have them in a few colors myself & they are my favorite "athletic" leggings for a few reasons! I love that they have the pockets on the sides because it's really easy to put my phone or even keys in them when I'm out & about. They come in 7/8 length which is perfect for me because I'm pretty short. They come in tons of colors, fit true to size & don't fall down!
drumsticks
My sister, Bethany plays the trapset for her high school pep band & needed a new set of drumsticks, so amazon to the rescue!
biker shorts
When biker shorts first started to be ‘a thing’ I remember telling my mom, “I don’t care how popular those get, they are hideous & I’ll never wear them”.
a few months later…
Here we are. I bought a pair of biker shorts + am now eating crow. However, I’m not completely sold on them. Don’t get me wrong, they are comfy as heck & I can totally see myself lounging around the house in them or even wearing them on a Saturday when I’m cleaning the house & doing Walmart grocery pick up. BUT. I just don’t feel confident in them. I’m all for women wearing whatever they want to wear as long as they feel comfortable & confident. I know that’s when I feel best about myself! So for now, I think I’ll stick with my lounge pants & leggings, but if you’re looking for some biker shorts to try, these are great! Incredibly soft & have a pocket on the side. I actually sized up one size in these & I would highly recommend that to all of you!
cuticle oil
My hands have been very dry lately because of all of the extra hand-washing I’ve been doing lately. #goawaycovid. Anyway, I’ve been getting quite a few hangnails lately which is because of my dry hands, but if I’m being real, one of my nervous/anxious habits is messing with my fingertips so sometimes I create hangnails all on my own. I was looking for some type of oil or solution that I could apply to my fingertips because lotion just isn’t cutting it. I found this cuticle oil from Amazon & it’s been wonderful — I’ve already noticed a huge difference after just four days of using it! A huge plus is that it’s reasonably priced at less than $7 & I already know it’s going to last me forever. Each night I apply one tiny drop to the nail area of each finger on my left hand, then rub my left hand’s fingers together with my right hand’s fingers. Five drops for both hands is MORE than enough! They will make your hands a little bit greasy so I use the drops at night & then go to bed (trying as hard as possible not to touch my face or hair). Highly recommend this if you’re struggling with dry cuticles too!
keychain/magnet/fidget toy
Being a first year school counselor, I came into this year with all kinds of new & exciting ideas of how I wanted to do things & how I would implement them. One of my ideas was doing some kind of sweet treat or little gift for each student on their birthday (or half birthday because summer babies are just as important!). I decided to get each grade level (6th, 7th, & 8th) a different gift that has some meaning behind it. As the students move up, each year they'll get a different little gift. The 6th graders get this smiley face stress ball because they've finally made it to middle school & it can be kinda stressful. The 7th graders get this pawprint magnet because they can finally start playing school sports & our mascot is a wildcat. & the 8th graders get this peapod (it's actually called a fidget bean, but that's weird lol) because they love mine! A cute story behind why the 8th graders get a peapod is that I have one on my lanyard (to show students that it's okay to need something to fidget with, no matter how old you are) & they LOVE mine -- like they're seriously obsessed with it! Anyways, just thought I'd share these in case you're needing something similar!
magnesium
My mom said she was influenced to buy this magnesium- ha! She has heard it helps with headaches & sleeping at night. I asked for a review & she said she has only taken it a couple times before bed & hasn't really seen a difference, so we will keep you updated on that!
cozy sweater
My school’s colors are red, black & white so I love that I’ll be able to wear this cute colorblock sweater & be cozy, but also be showing school spirit at the same time! This sweater is so stinking soft & cozy & warm & perfect for fall. I went with my normal size & it definitely fits oversized, but I really like it! It looks so cute with leggings & flats, but would look cute with jeans & booties as well. It comes in 17 other colors & is less than $35 -- I've already placed an order for more colors! Click here to see it on me.
scrub brush head refills
The new apartment I moved into does not have a dishwasher, so it’s me. I’m the dishwasher (another one of my least favorite at-home chores lol). I have a scrub brush, but was in need of a set of refills for the sponge part & I found these. They're heavy duty so they remove all of the leftover food really well. Super thankful for them because they make the dishwashing process a lot easier & less time consuming!
flats
I'm always on the look out for new flats to wear to school. They've got to be comfy & come in small enough sizes that they'll fit my baby feet (legit, I wear a size 2-3 in kids, not even kidding). I got these in both the black & light leopard pair & they are just darling! They fit true to size & are sooo stinking comfy. Oh & they are less than $25! A great win from Amazon!
chip & dip tray
Well, I've officially reached adulthood... I finally have my own chip & dip serving tray. I guess it's all downhill from here. Just kidding! ;) Kind of lol. Now this means I have to start bringing dishes to gatherings & that really is a "downhill thing"!! On the plus side, this little serving dish is SO STINKING CUTE! Like seriously, just look at the picture! I love everything about it, all the way down to the wooden lid to keep your dip fresh & safe. It's super durable & really great quality!
colorblock turtleneck
Okay stop whatever you’re doing right now & go order this colorblock turtleneck!! For real. Y’all need this. The material feels like this top should be priced in the 50s or 60s, but it’s only $35. I love the cowl neck — I love wearing a cute pony when I have big turtle necks going on. I love all the colors. I love the length. I just love it. & you should too. Go get it!!! Click here to see it on me!
microfiber hair towels
My mom & sister both have pretty curly hair. They have slowly been learning more about the curly girl hair method, so they bought this 2 pack of microfiber hair towels. They both gave rave reviews about them & said they can definitely tell a difference in the frizziness of their hair! I am thinking I am going to order myself some as well!
cardigan
During the fall & winter months, I don't think there's anything better than a soft & cozy cardigan to keep you warm. I found this one from Amazon & it is everything I hoped it would be! Y'all it's literally SO soft & fits me like a glove (true to size). I had heard from some other influencers that it sheds, so I wore it around my house for an evening with a black tank & black leggings & to my pleasant surprise, it didn't shed AT ALL!! I haven't washed it yet, so I'm not sure if that will start happening after I wash it? I'll keep you updated! Regardless, this cozy cardigan is worth it!!
facial toner
I’ve been using this toner for about a year & I love it! My Mom gets the cucumber scent because she doesn’t love the rose petal scent, but it doesn’t bother me. Toner makes my skin feel squeaky clean which I love. Sometimes, if I’m not wearing any makeup & I’ve gotten sweaty from working outside or doing a workout, I’ll just use toner to clean everything up. It’s such an easy product to use & I can really tell a difference in how clean & bright my face looks from using it consistently.
white + leopard colorblock sweater
Of course, some leopard lol. I was straight up shocked when I pulled this sweater out of the bag — it is one of the softest sweaters I’ve ever owned in my whole life. Like so soft & comfy & cozy that when you get home from work you DON’T want to take it off! That’s the type of clothing I need in my life! The enlarged leopard print is really fun & it’s not too overwhelming since it’s just split up into one section on the chest & sleeves. I would say it fits a bit oversized in length (including the sleeves), but personally, that’s how I like my clothing to fit. You can click here to see it on me!
cat crap
Why on earth do they call it cat crap?! That makes no sense to me at all! Anyway, we ordered 3 tubs of this "cat crap" that you rub on your glasses to help prevent them from fogging up! In the past, I always used my glasses as an accesory as I have several different styles. I was having a hard time with that since wearing masks- thanks rona. This stuff has definitely helped!
leopard sweater
Y'all this is straight up probably the softest material I've ever touched in my whole life! Get this sweater! It is really warm but also breathable so you won't get too hot. It has a nice wide neckline, but could easily be worn with a scarf or even a shirt underneath if you like the extra warmth. I would say it fits a little oversized & is somewhat of a boxy fit. Even as I'm talking about it right here, I'm still surprised that it's less than $30!
egg slicer
My mom bought this egg slicer, but ended up sending it back because it was flimsy wires & she was wanting the kind that could do eggs & strawberries. Do any of you have one you like? Let us know as she is still looking & hasn't replaced it yet! She said if you are just looking for one that does eggs this would be a great option though.
floral maxi dress
Y’all this dress is the definition of fall! The variety of patterns mixed with the variety of fall colors is just perfect. The top of the dress has functioning buttons so it is breastfeeding friendly (thinking of two of my bestie girls who just had babies!) as well as a functional drawstring right under the bust area so you can cinch it as tight as you’d like to show off more of your figure. I chose to wear it with some black mules here, but it would look absolutely darling with any color of booties & a cardigan or denim jacket. I couldn’t love this dress more!
If you have fall family pictures coming up (or just need a cute dress for fall because same here), this dress would be perfect! Click here to see it on me!
throw blanket
Y'all know I've been on the hunt for a throw blanket that I can use recently & I am being picky as all get out! I have a sherpa blanket from Sams that's been awesome -- it's huge & warm & cozy! However, the sherpa material has not held up very well so I'm looking for something about the same size & coziness, but a different softer fabric. This blanket has great reviews on Amazon & I can see why. The material is SUPER soft & the tassels on the end are darling. However, it's very small! So if you're looking for just a throw blanket, this one would be a darling fit!
micellar cleansing water
Another beauty product I swear by is micellar cleansing water. I’ve been using it with this toner for awhile now & have really liked the results I’ve gotten — my skin overall feels very clean & is evening out. Micellar cleansing water is a great tool to remove dirt, grime, & even makeup! It works wonders for me! I will typically use it & then the toner after I’ve washed my face (both in the morning & at night) & the amount of dirt / product that is on the cotton ball is shocking. Here is a link to my skincare routine in case you’re interested in some of the other products I use.
underwear
Not sharing who ordered these because I know there are some creepers out there, but whoever did says they are great! There are tons of 5 star reviews + they come in lots of different styles & patterns & they are less than $15 for 6 pair!
hat
I thought I would try out one of these darling hats that all of the other bloggers & influencers seem to have & look darling in. This one is great quality & fits super well! Plus, the price isn't too high compared to a lot of others that I've seen!
quilted quarter zip
I love finding cute & comfy tops that I can wear to school. This quilted "quarter zip" is awesome! Instead of a zipper on the neckline, it has functional buttons instead. It fits true to size & will be a great layering piece -- striped shirts underneath, vest or denim jacket on stop. It looks super cute with leggings, too! It comes in this navy & grey color & nine others.
